Operationally down
OpManager 5.5 discovered the swith successfully using SNMP, but the interfaces status in the switch shows operationally down even though the Interface is up. Where as i am able to see the Interface up in the Port Mapper.[list=]

Monitoring different Volumes
If a server has multiple volumes (c:/, D:/, F:/) How do you monitor them with OPmanager? Particularly Disk Utilization, Free GB, Used GB. Thanks.
Machine names
Sometimes when I add a new device, usually linux, the device name shows up as the IP address and not the system name. It would not be a big deal to just change it except that the notification are sent with the ip and not the device name, and I have over 200 servers. Is there a fix for this? Doug
Opmanager can't find device with telnet port open
Hi all, I need your help How to scan network but the Router i want to scan can't be ping but port telnet is open but opmanager can't not find the device but i can telnet that device. I already delete the device and Use Discover -> Add New Network option to add the network. but the problem not solve Thx four your help
Stopping of alert mails

SNMP not working

SNMP Ports setting for OpManager and Cisco / Dell Equipment
You may disregard my last lengthy email as I think I figured out part of the problem. By default OpManager uses SNMP Port 161, my cisco equipment uses port 162 for SNMP traps. Question: In OpManager which SNMP port number should be set and in which setting? ie Do I need to change the snmp port number for each individual device in OpManager to use 162, or should I just add a second UDP logging port to point to 161 on my cisco equipment: example: snmp-server host <Op-Manager IP> <community string ro>
OpManager for multiple sites
I am evaluating using OpManager and would like to know if it supports multiple sites in one interface. We have locations in multiple parts of the world and would like in some cases to use one NOC for control of mutiple sites. Is there anyway to limit the views of a user to only specific IP addresses or domains?
Question regarding OpManager and modems.
Is there a way to configure opmanager to notify pagers or cell phones in the event that the primary link to the internet or mail server goes down? I'm looking for a way to alert sysadmins in case we lose our links to the internet, or if our mail goes down. Since I currently have op manager to notify via email, if either of those two go down... well no alerts are going out. I know some products like Spectrum will dial up to a isp and send a email that way, so I'm just curious if the same features
OpManager stops polling every 24 hours
OpManager stops polling interfaces and all charts and graphs disappear after about 24 hours of running. I must stop and restart the service to get the graphs back. (I have attached the log files to this post.) Is there anyway to correct this?
i don't get any device
i use discovery network 202.158.22.228/30 but i don't found any device but when i ping 202.158.22.230 is reply and when use telnet to those ip is ok what is the problem?? Thx for your help
Free Disk Space
I want to monitor freed disk space in MB and GB on a per server basis. I set up the rule on the first server but everytime I want to add the Free Disk Space in GB to another server and have it trigger at a different value than the server before OM tells me it will change this threshold globally, is there a way around this?

Cisco Chassis Alarms
In noticing the various snmp alarms that come pre-canned with OpManager, is there a way to add additional MIB alarms. Ie The Cisco Chassis alarm? I have a 6509 layer 3 switch that is generating a chassis alarm for a bad redundant power supply. I would like to monitor that plus all the other chassis based alarms. In additiion, I will assume that whatever solution provided here will also work for the server hardware for DELL poweredge servers? THanks in Advance
Alarms - Event History - Cropping
Hello, Is it just me, or is the event history cropped to about 200 characers? I have some annoying SMTP-related alarms from the router, but I cannot see the entire message. I can only see the entire message for the newest message. Is it possible to get the entire message from messages in the history? Great program, by the way. Best regards, Markus

i have a mix of 2k and xp workstation opmanager find all the 2k and 2003 servers type no problem but zippo for the workstations have to add machine type manual is there a service i need to turn on on the 2K and XP workstations for OPmanager to find the type of workstation automatic

Is there a way to stop autodiscovery ? Each 15 days, I get all the desktop, laptop and other devices I don't want to monitor or having in the database..... Thanks. PS. Any timeframe for a new release ? ;-)

Uninstalling and ReInstalling
I have an interesting issue. I want to uninstall Opmanager and then doa clean install. However one problem that I am encountering is that the database does not get removed or deleted and thus holds onto old information. How can I tell this. After a reinstall I want to re-add the networks from the ground up, and though the network discovery does not show the network, when I try to re-add it it says that it is currently in the database. <- not sure how this is happening but I would like to be able

Rediscovering Device Does Not Pick up New RAM
Saw today that OpManager did not pick up that additional RAM had been installed in a server. Memory Utilization was showing 100%. New RAM added yesterday. Rediscovering did not check for the change in system RAM. Something you can fix for next service pack?
Migrate OpManager 5.5 from Windows XP to Linux

Unable to start
Hi! I was recently surfing the web and came upon this tool. It looked pretty neat, so I downloaded and installed it but whenever I try to run it it just says Trying to start OpUtils Server, Starting OpUtils Server, but it never gets any farther then that. When I try to exit it says that the program is not responding. I'm running WindowsXP and my computer is on a WLAN connected to the DSL line. I am using the latest version, but nothing works.
Devices are deleted and rediscovered
I've noticed that some devices I managed were deleted and then rediscovered. Because I changed their display names before, they were IPs now. And the notification profiles corelated with them were gone. This seems a big problem.

Question about the MySQL worm and it's vulnerability to OpMg
I would like to check with you to see if OpManager is vulnerable to the latest worm that is making rounds infecting mysql servers. I just read about the worm today on the news that it is a malware worm infecting only mysql installs on Windows Servers. My demo version was going to be installed on Windows server. The worm is called "WootBot" I was in the process of installing a demo version, but now I am going to wait your reply and release of any patches if needed. Thanks in advance for your prompt
Configuration questions
A couple questions. Running the latest version of Opmanager 5.5 (5504) 1) When monitoring a router, is it possible to adjust the polling interval for the interfaces? (i see that you adjust the poll interval for the router and related monitor but no the interfaces itself). 2) Since i am monitoring a router, is it possible to remove the monitor categories that i don't use (i.e custom, vendor specific, application monitor)? It reduces the clutter. 3) has anyone been able to get cpu utilization out of
No startup service for Opmanager
My Opmanager running on a Win 2k3 server has no service to start. I have to manually start Opmanager via RDP. Is there a way of registering Opmanager as a service on startup? :cry:
Can't start Java Client on Fedora Linux
I have installed the OpManager 5.5 on Fedora Core 3 but receive errors that look like JVM errors when I attempt to login. I am able to execute the StartOpManagerClient.sh script but it failed while authenticating login. The "java" errors then hangs the execution. I've attached the errors I see on stdout as a text file.
