Deployed configurations not ending
Hi, I'm having problems with deploying customs packages, whenever I deploy a package to a machine, the installer/setup starts and runs like it should, but the setup process doesn't close itself afterwards. The status in Desktop Central keeps hanging at "Yet to deploy". The software is always correctly installed, it's just that the setup won't close and as a result desktop central doesn't know that it completed succesfully. So everytime I restart the computer, the setup starts again... This
Agent Uninstall
Hi, I configured agent in desktopcentral server to not allow uninstall, if you go to add/programs you cannot uninstall but if you use a program uninstaller like ccleaner it could be uninstalled easily, even if you use msconfig you can also disable the service from starting up. Could this be solved ? Thanks
Deploying patches even if some are not downloaded
Can you add an option when deploying patches like the one in "Automate patch deployment" where even if some files are failed to download the configuration continues with available patches already downloaded . Since we have to manually remove "failed to download" updates in order for the configuration to deploy and we don't want to use "automate patch deployment" for some domains. Thanks
Desktop Central agent in startup folder
This may have already been asked, but I cant find anything about it. I noticed when the Desktop Central agent is installed on the client desktops, the agent shortcut is in the AllUsers startup folder. This will not work in my environment as there are a lot of users who have the ability to delete this from the folder. I also noticed that there is an agent service as well. What does this do if the agent is also a shortcut in the startup folder?
All workstations missing on desktop central
After upgrading a license, all workstations managed on the application is missing. Can anyone confirm what could have gone wrong and what to do to fix this?
Unable to deploy XP SP3
It looks like Desktop Central is downloading a different patch, even though SP3 is chosen as the service pack to deploy. We're getting a "problem downloading service pack from server" error. This is what shows up in the downloaded patch section instead of SP3. Deploy agent via GPO
Before I get flamed, I know there is a script and procedures for doing just this - and I have used it within our environment and it is working just fine... Clean up Distribution Servers
Is there a task or method to automatically clean up distribution servers deployment repository? We have multiple distribution servers setup (one for each branch), and for some odd reason a few of them have their repositories at like 16GB+ in size. There should be some sort of automated cleanup when a task is removed from a server, or if a patch update is no longer required. Right now I'm not sure how I'm going to clean this up. Dear Support, Which build of DTC do I need to install as a clean new build on a new server to be able to use MSSQL as the back end? Patch schedule setup clarification
I've been reading related posts here, but I'm still a little unclear on the exact behavior of the APD configurations, based on what I'm seeing. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish. Patch computers overnight within a 6 hour window. Use WOL to get as many computers as possible. Shutdown the computer when finished. End. Next Day. Serial Number in Macintosh
We have add our Mac lately in Desktop Central. At Intel, the service tag field, is the machine serial and serial number field is the serial of operating System. but, in Macinthosh the service tag is empty and serial number field is the serial of machine and not the operating system serial number Is this correct or a bug ??
All computers missing patch MS11-042 this morning?
For some reason all my computers are saying they are missing patch MS11-042, which is a patch released in 2011. The deploy will fail with "Unknown Error. Code : -2145124329". When I attempt to install the patch manually on a test system, it says that this patch is not applicable.
Desktop Central on Windows Server 2012
On Windows 2012, since there is no start menu, there is no way to access the start menu shortcuts to the batch files (like Start/Stop Desktop Central) if I've hidden the notification tray icon. I just found this out when attempting to install an update. I know I could stop it in services, but since there are multiple services and dependencies, it's not the best solution. Some Patches not shown in Applicable Patches
Dear Manage Engine, I've been notice this problem since version 7 and version 8, the Applicable Patches not shown all patches but only show the new patches or some old patches. For example i would like to deploy patches KB958644, KB958687 and KB2121440 for Windows XP, i've success download them and deploy to agent. I have about 830 unidentified applications in my inventory, and only 16 of them were identified as "commercial". But the majority of the unidentified ones are applications that are just minor version revisions of commercial software. For example, "Adobe Acrobat" was listed as "commercial" automatically. However, "Adobe Acrobat X Standard - English, Français, Deutsch", version 10.1.6 and 10.1.7 both were listed as unidentified. Also, I have dozens of "Adobe Flash Player 11" that are listed as unidentified.

we have an older application that utilizes a .lbr file to hold the code to access our DB. The develops will make changes to the lbr file and we need to push it out once they have made the change. Will copy file do that?

Problem with Dinamic custom group
I have 2 Dinamic custom group. 1º With computers with S.O = Windows xp 2 With computers with S.O = Windows 7 all computers belong to the same Active Directory. when I want to make a distribution on these dinamic custom groups 1º shows less than computers listing. 2º in dinamic group Windows 7 shows computers with another operating system ( like Windows Xp ) As an emergency solution, I'm exporting the list and put this list as distributing computers but I'm curious to know the reason for failure

Docking Station Identification in Desktop Central
I have been recently asked to try to find and identify a significant amount of hardware that we purchased and have shipped off to various branches, but do not seem to have recorded anywhere - specifically HP docking stations and a few LG and HP monitors (spreadsheets are only as accurate as those who update them, if those people are away, or others take over without their knowledge, things always gets messed up). Trying to Map Network Drive, Fail
We used to use AD to map our private drives but now we want to use DC8 instead. Re-installing Desktop Central on server
I need to re-install DC to repair some problems. Are there any particular steps I need to take other than just uninstall and reinstall? My main concern is that the re-installed copy will be able to locate all the desktops with agents, so I will not need to push out agent installs again.
Problem with Client Mac
I have Destkop Central Build No:80234. When I install a client Mac, I'm all steps and it´s shows the mac has been installed correctly but in the SOM, never appears in the inventory. The Mac computer has no proxy or firewall. Where are the logs on the Mac to see the problem? Thanks
Problem with deploying on Win7/8 configuration. Access denied
Hello, I have problem with deploying configuration on Hosts with Win7 and Win8 OS. Configuration deployed ok on Host with Win XP but all new hosts with W7 and W8 has error Access denied. GPO are the same on all hosts so creditional are the same. I really dont know what is the problem... I saw in forum history that can be problem in WMI and open ports on Win7. Configuration that i created, deploy shortcut first time when user is log in, but next day when user log in another computer with his account shortcut is not deployed - ( because configuration deployed first time ADME for DC i think operation is completed)... Grouping templates
I would be great if you could group software deployments and collections together as a single template for deployment. We currently have a configuration that I use as a template that deploys three software packages. We then also have a collection that deploys an ico file to the PC long with two icons. It would be great if these multiple configurations could be groups together somehow so the whole thing could be grouped in one step
