Before I get flamed, I know there is a script and procedures for doing just this - and I have used it within our environment and it is working just fine... However, I have had to replicate across multiple OU's for the proper configuration to be deployed. Our senior Administrator wants me to clean this up so that its contained in a single GPO/Script.
Here is an example of our setup.
We have about 12 branches Each branch has its own distribution server and there for its own agent to be installed. We have a parent OU called "Desktops" for the desktop computer objects. Under the parent are child OU's for each branch. Using the script and instructions I had found on the website, I configured GPO's for each child OU to install the appropriate agent.
As I said, this is working currently, however it means 12 scripts and GPO's.
Our Senior Administrator wants this cleaned up to just 1 script and 1 GPO.
I've already made him aware, that reducing the number of scripts and GPO's does not mean also a reduction of agents to be installed. He's okay with this, so only wants the GPO's and the scripts reduced to be housed in one singular GPO at the "Desktop" OU level above the child OU's.
I've been hunting the internet and coming up fairly blank on the scripting for this task.
I am hoping someone here can give me some pointers on how I'd accomplish this.
I'm using the original script from ManageEngine as my base that I'm working with.
