Docking Station Identification in Desktop Central
I have been recently asked to try to find and identify a significant amount of hardware that we purchased and have shipped off to various branches, but do not seem to have recorded anywhere - specifically HP docking stations and a few LG and HP monitors (spreadsheets are only as accurate as those who update them, if those people are away, or others take over without their knowledge, things always gets messed up).
I have been able to find the majority of the monitors through desktop central's reporting feature, however I can't seem to find a way to have it report back on docking stations that the laptops may be connected to. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this, or the data itself is not recorded.
When I talk docking station, I mean the full fledged docking stations for HP's EliteBooks and mobile workstations, not a simple port replicator.
Is there currently a method to get this information from the current/custom reports or through script?
If so how?
If this feature currently isn't available, is it possible to have it placed on the future feature build list?
I really need to make sure that we have another method of tracking this information rather than spreadsheets.
As every unit that is on our network has the Desktop Central agent installed, having this information gathered that way and stored in the DB so it can be reported on is the most ideal.
This way we can track not only who has what laptop (each user has their own station) but also track (based on remote office distribution server) where these units are located.
Information we need to report on is make, model, and serial number. I don't need any other details.
