Staggering Reboots After Patching
Hello, Quite simply, I remember there was a way years ago when I worked with Desktop Central. That you could stagger reboots of Servers after being patched. The new Company I work for, I have recommended Desktop Central for patch management. They have asked the same question above. But cannot find that feature in the online demo. Senerio: 1) Patched a whole load of machines 2) I want to only reboot a max 10 or so at a time. Doable? Regards, Jesse Moore

missing patch?
I'm having trouble understanding why a certain patch isn't applicable. I can see MS17-010 in the patch database. However, when I look at its list of affected OS's its different than what is shown on MS: https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms17-010?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396 Is there any reason for the different information between your system and the actual security bulletin? At this point I have no idea if my systems are covered or not.
Support of Office 2016, Windows 10
Hello @all, as far as I can see Windows 10 is already supported by Patch Management - is that correct or are there still limitations? When will Office 2016 (for Windows) be supported? I cannot see or filter for Office 2016 Patches. Kind Regards Stefan

Why are many important/critical Windows patches automatically listed as Not Approved?
Hi, I'm not exactly new to ME but I never really got training on it. I just came onto a job that had it and I've been learning to use it by myself for the last year or so. I am a little confused about a few things, in particular, how patches are chosen to be approved or not approved. For example here, I went to All Patches and sorted by approval status and I see that a lot of critical patches are listed as not approved. Why is that? Wouldn't any and all critical patches be approved? I obviously don't

Distrubtion server replication times
When does the patches downloaded to the central server get replicated to distribution servers? Let's say i have an APD at 4:00pm and thee deployment window is 7:00pm to 10:00am when would the patches be replicated to the distribution server? We want to minimize the bandwidth between where our central server and the distribution servers are during the day and would like it to sync all patches to the distribution servers after 6:00pm. This is due to a backup that we will have going on throughout

Patch automation status lost
I am trying to use the Patch Automation feature. I scheduled a time, and my machines started to scan, although it seemed like they were going one at a time. Realizing how long it was taking, I decided to modify my configuration so it started earlier next week. After saving, however, I fully lost the in-progress patch task. When i click on the task, it just shows me blank info stating it will fill up next week. What happened to the in-progress patch task? Was it cancelled? is it still going but
Replacement of "current" patches by Desktop Central
I have the following problem: I run patch tasks per APD once per month: 1x for testgroup and 2 weeks later 1x for all productive systems when no errors occured. My problem: Last week I deployed the latest Chrome version to my testgroup. Now I see that few days later Desktop Central has replaced this version I was just testing and which I want to go "live" next week. This is now impossible for me. Could you maybe keep the last 1-2 versions/patches of a program in the patch management? You now provide
New Desktop central licensing model and old customers
Hi I noticed that you recently changed your Desktop Central licensing model, where the Patch Management edition has been removed. I would like to ask, how does this apply to current customers? The change in pricing namely is really big if one just needs the PM edition. I also noticed the version 10 update. Is it possible to upgrade to that edition if one has the P v9? Thank you
Linux patch management and software
Hello, I tried to use the Linux Client of Desktop Central for some Debian (Jessie, stable) workstations in the network. There are several things which seem very strange to me: 1. When installing patches, DC suggests me Debian patches from Backports. Where can I disable that? In this case it was an update of libgcrypt20 1.6.3+deb8u2 to 1.7.6-1~bpo8+1. 2. Where is DC getting the Debian package updates from? It seems that it doesn't use the package sources as configured in the client. How can I use
Skip downloading patches for computers excluded in the APD
I was wondering if there was a way to not download patches for computer in the APD that are marked as excluded. I have our APD set to exclude our servers since we don't want them patching. But I noticed that in the downloaded patches we have it set to remove patches after 3 months and not missing option. That works fine except that it has downloaded patches from 10 months ago since we don't patch servers they got scanned upon initial agent installation but have not been patched. Thus it downloaded
ManageEngine Desktop Central now supports 'Rollups'
Hi Folks, Greetings from ManageEngine Desktop Central Technical Support. Its my immense pleasure to announce the support for 'Rollups' in Desktop Central patch management. I trust you must be aware about Microsoft's October Patch Tuesday, what has started supporting Rollup updates (B Week updates). These are nothing but a single bulky update which includes all. Now its Desktop Central's turn to support these updates. Support is provided as a specific patch type named 'Rollups' under the APD.
Issues with patch Windows 10 (KB4013429) Bulletin ID: MS17-007
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else here has come across any issues with patch KB4013429 for 1607 Windows 10? Here's a description of what I'm experiencing. This patch is already installed on my systems and I verify this through the windows 10 update history log. However, DC patch mgmt is identifying this patch as missing. When it tries to apply the patch to the systems it's always returning an Unknown Error. Code : -2145124329 and patch mgmt keeps detecting it as a missing patch. My systems are
Critical update for Desktop Central versions older than 92056!
What is the change? Desktop Central's patch management has released a new schema to support various features for Windows, Mac & Linux patch management. What will be the impact? If you are running Desktop Central version older than 92056, you will not be able to synchronise the latest patch updates. What should I do? Upgrade to the latest build on or before 16th March 2017, to continue using patch management.

Windows 10 and Boot Time
Hi, I do have a problem with Windows 10 and the boot sequence. Roling out software or patches "at boot time" does not work for days. I think it has something to do with the new quick startup features of windows 10. If I take a look at the overview of all systems many of them show a "last boot time" of days ago - and I know they are shut down every evening. If some Microsoft patches require a reboot, the boot time is shown right and the patches delivered "at boot time" get applied. The problem is,

Pushing out just the latest patch for a product?
We're just testing out Desktop Central. We're having an issue pushing the agent out via the interface (Unable to get the Agent Status. Operation timed out - logged a call with support a few days ago and still nothing back) But my main query at the moment is this - can you just push out the latest update for a product? For example I've added the agent to my PC manually and have patched it remotely, but Adobe Standard has several updates to be applied, but they only get pulled down one at a time and
Best practices to use DesktopCentral pathcing instead of WSUS/Windows Update
I am working on a new Windows 10 rollout and would like to have Desktop Central control ALL windows updates for all workstations. I have not (I do not wish to) set up WSUS - but in a tight test with two Windows 10 installs (one with 1607 ENT and the other using 1607 LTSB) I am finding that while Desktop Central seems to have patched these two just fine last week with what looks like the latest cumulative updates - I noticed this morning on my LTSB install that two patches "suddenly" showed up when

Scheduled Off the network updates
I think this has been discussed here before but if not I wanted to suggest it. So Desktop Central (henceforth referred to as DTC) has the ability to schedule updates. What I'd like to see is the following: During the week I schedule windows updates for all my machines to take place on the weekend/specific date/time. DTC prestages all the updates to the machine at some point before the weekend/specific date/time The local agent retains the knowledge of the date and time for the scheduled update. Regardless

Database Patch Management
Hi all, i would like to know if it possible to populate a database repository, doing a manual download of the patches I need away from the platform. The reason why it's about a particular customer who has an extremely slow data connection, I have to filter and lock automatic updates because there is no sufficient bandwith for the whole lan network. At my office I tried to download all the patches I needed, depending on kb code showed as "to be downloaded" and put into the repository path to the customer's.
