Integration SD-DC
Hello, after upgrading DC to version 8.0.1.14 we can't create software deployment installation TASKs from Service Desk plus(8.1.0 Build 8109). The last time I was able to fix it just regenerating the Authentication Key from Service Desk and inserting it in the admin->service desk plus setting panel. ( I followed the procedure Steps-to-Create-an-Authentication-Key-in-ServiceDesk-Plus-Console ) Am i missing something ? Could you please investigate about it? Continuous Configurations
Is there a way to create a configuration where the target computers can be modified, after it has been set to deploy, without having the configuration push the software to targets that already have the software. Example: New software is being pushed to the enterprise, lets use Java for this example. You set the configuration to push 10 systems. I want to add more systems to this configuration with out interrupting/changing current systems process. right now I have to create another configuration
Update to Hotfix SP 1_14.ppm
Hello, I am attempting to install hotfix 8_0_SP-1_14.ppm onto a build:8039. My Desktop Central Server is running on a Win 2008 server. I have done about five if these HotFix installations and they are easy to install. Shutdown Desktop Central service > Run UpdateManager.bat > Select the .ppm file and the install wizard completes the job. My problem comes after I select the .ppm file (ManageEngine_Desktop_Central_8_0_sp-1_14.ppm) and push the Install button the wizard runs for a short time and
Software will not deploy in new build
Support, upgraded to 80113 earlier. Previously working software deployment for Office 2007 now does not function. Errors such as "unable to copy installation folder to target" - account in question has full access to the network share where the package is located and is a local admin of the target server. Changing settings will even error saying the package does not have an installation string configured - of course it does. Click modify and save and it's OK so it obviously did.... Tried with local
Change Software Type From Commercial To Non-Commercial Not Working
I have some software classified as Commercial by mistake. Trying to move this to Non-Commercial now and DC says that "the selected software has been moved" but it doesnt actually do it. The software still remains in Commercial.
Inventory search not working

Upgrade a script
Hello DC Team! I need to upgrade a Script deployed with a configuration set with option running "at every startup" on all the machines in our AD. My initial idea was to create a configuration to remove the Old script and create a new configuration with the new script (a bat file). The goal is that the new one has to run absolutely when the old one has been removed. Can I just upgrade it from the script repo and re-deploy the same configuration with it ... or it's better to remove the old and deploy

Date Picker for Warranty Expiration Doesn't Work

In Desktop Central, configuring Power Management is under "User Configurations." Shouldn't this be under Computer Configurations? Screen Recording Feature
Hi, Is there a possibility to extend screen recording feature so that I can add schedule for screen monitoring (for audit and security purposes), like "PC1" add a schedule to record screen from 8 to 10 a.m every day, or for a group of computers and also would specify local paths on their computers for recording.
DC isn't syncing with SD+
Using DC feature to search Warranty Expire date at manufacturer (HP) site, work well. The problem I'm having is, DC isn't syncing that information with SD+. DC recognized SD+ integration and viceversa!! (checked already) SD+: 8.1.0 Build 8114 DC: 8.0.0 Build 80101 Is Expire date a valid synching information?
Exclude IE8 from deploying to 1 workstation
I have patch management set to deploy patches automatically upon approval. I also have two automated configuration templates defined: one for workstations, one for servers that is scheduled to deploy the approved patches at a particular time. There is one workstation that cannot run IE8 due to issues with a critical financial website that only functions properly with IE7 My question is: 1. Is there a way to deselect the particular workstation from receiving IE8 updates, without creating

hi has anyone run into any issues with upgrade of desktop central to DC sp1? I am planning on doing this in the next few days but the client side agent update always makes me a bit nervous since i had some issues earlier in the year where the client agents on windows 2008 r2 stopped the server service and some other crucial services like networking. it has been fixed but am now always super carefull when it comes to updating the agents (in fact i turn of desktop central service on critical servers

Problem with swedish special characters åäö
Hi, We are running SDplus for about 6months now. We are now trying Desktopcentral. But when we syncronize all customers to desktopcentral from sdplus all the swedish characters are strange characters. is this normal? must i rename them all in sdplus first? i have also tried to rename them manually in desktopcentral but when i save the characters revert to looking strange. Custom Script in DC as User, but By Machine
So we have a VBS script we want to run on our computers and it needs to run under the users context. Normally we would do a Custom Script under the User config, however, I don't want the determination to be the USER that instigates the run, but the computer. The script suceeds when I run under User config cust script, but fails when done as a Computer config, my guess is that it runs there as the system account. Unfortunately there's no way under User custom script to select by Computer.
Will laptops download patches from vendors if they are offline.

Email configuration for MDM
What are the settings that need to be entered into 'Domain', 'User Display Name', 'Email Address' and 'Password' for setting you an email profile in MDM? I have tried various things and have not been successful. Tried a typical wildcard entry of %email% and it just shows up on the iPhone as %email% instead of having the EU's actual email address. Error copying installation folder
I'm running into a problem where I a software deployment configuration works fine when installing over the network, but once I select the "Copy folder to client machines" option it fails. I've verified that Everyone has read access to the files, which I know works because it can run the files over the network. I think the below portion of the dcsoftwaredeployment.log is relevant, has anyone run into this problem before? We have some clients that are able to send a request to DC from the system tray icon by right-clicking the icon and selecting Send Request to Help Desk. On other clients when this procedure is attempted the EU receives a pop-up box that says Your Request could not be sent. What is the problem?

Missed Patch Tasks
I am new to Desktop Central. I have several automated patch scans tasks and deployments. What happens if the Desktop Central server or service is shutdown when an automated scan task is scheduled? Does the missed scheduled scan task kick off when Desktop Central restarts or is the task rescheduled to the next run time? Example: Scheduled patch scan weekly on Monday at 07:00:00. The server was down for the weekend. It is restarted on Monday at 10:00:00. What happens to the scheduled patch?

I am trying to remotely modify some registry keys so that we can properly deploy our Antivirus solution. I have the current version of Desktop Central installed. Discrepancy Between DC and Windows Update
Hi, I have come across a discrepancy between the patches that Desktop Central think are applicable for our clients and what Windows Update shows as available updates. While this is an issue for most Desktops in our organisation, here in an example based on my laptop, which is Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit. Hi, I want to know is there any way to restrict some users who login through desktop central from remoting to Server Machines ? As administrator Install agent in all devices in the network all of them will be shown in the list of Remote Computer remotes and those technicians who have access to Remote Desktop can remote to any of the devices listed there, Is there any way to for example put server devices in a group and not to show them in the remote desktop lists ? Hi all, Is it possible to set an (Security) policy in DC for preventing users installing software? In this particular situation the users do not use Active Directory and the are all Local Administrator. If possible, only the Desktop Central operator is allowed to install software on the desktops.
