Inventory Database Integration with ServiceDesk +
One of the features I love about DesktopCentral is that one Agent can do all of the scanning and be displayed on both DC and SD+ but integration is limited. Asset Tag information is not shown in DC Shipping and Warranty dates acquired by DC are not shown in SD+ System information is now shown in SD+ when DC agent is the one doing the scanning. it would be great if all of the information is display on either SD+ or DC.
How to create software package with a .air extension?
Morning all, Just started a new job and have started using |Desktop Central for the first time. I've been taksed with deploying a package that has an adobe air extension. The process seems quite straight forward if you're using an exe or msi but I'm stumped on how to do this with a .air file. Can anyone help? Peter
Migrating from MySQL to SQL 2012 -- SUCCESSFUL
I was attempting to migrate from the bundled MySQL instance with DesktopCentral Build #80035 to Microsoft SQL 2012 running on another server, but was running into errors on the restore. Is there a way to run a batch file, or a program with elevated permissions? I know that when installing software, you can set up a admin level account to run as. Thanks. Dave
Active Directory Settings
Hi there, I am trying to find the settings where Desktop Central comunicates with Active Directory in order to pull up lists for users and groups. I went to make a custom group of users, and noticed that the list of users that it shows from Active Directory versus what we actually have currently, is way out of date - meaning somewhere along the line a setting has become invalidated (I'm thinking password expired), but I have no idea where to make these adjustments. I am testing the use of Alerts to notify users of pending expiring passwords. I setup an alert as shown below (Pic1). Some questions about the Alerts. 1) My goal is to begin notifying the user at 7 days till their password expires, but to notify them daily until the last day. Will this Alert function like this? 2) Is the setup of this Alert perpetual? Our password policy cycles every 60 days. MDM - Multiple Devices Per User
How would you enroll multiple devices per user, such as many of our user having a iPhone and iPad? In once you enroll device under that users name, you can't enroll another drive using the username/email address.
Problems deploying Citrix Receiver 3.3 through Desktop Central.
I am hoping someone out there has had similar issues to what I am going through, but has solved the problem with deploying Citrix Receiver 3.3 to their clients through Desktop Central. Tray icon issue
I have noticed that on Windows XP and Server 2003 the screen will occasionally flash. This goes away when the icon is removed I believe this is also causing a performance issue on multiple devices. Is there something I should know?

Apps not showing up in App Catalog
I'm testing out MDM with Desktop Central on my iPhone 4 with iOS 6. I've added the app "Free Translator With Voice" to the apps repository as a test and distributed it to my group. I got the email recommending I install the app, but I have zero apps available in the App Catalog. Also, I had previously added this phone and removed it later leaving me with a blank icon for a second App Catalog - how can I remove this? When I trigger the jiggling icons there is no x on it's corner.
Disconnected Network
We have a segregated lan that is not allowed to connect to the internet. LAN #1 is connected to the internet LAN #2 is disconnected from the internet. Is there a way for Desktop Central to work on a disconnected network? Would there be a way perhaps to use an external harddrive to copy the patch database and windows updates from LAN #1 to LAN #2 or some similar process? Thank you.
Patch Scan Failing
I have installed desktop central 8 on 4 computers. I have turned off the firewall on all the computer and the server. I have checked to make sure the patch download folder is receiving new updates. but every time i tell it to run a patch scan i fails. I have attached a screen shoot of the error.

Run script after Installing software not working
Hi, I am having a problem with running a post install script for Microsoft Office 2010, the script is designed to pin shortcuts for Outlook, Word and Excel on the task bar and start menu. Report for users within groups
I'm looking to create some custom reports for Users that are in specific AD groups / OU's. I need the users login name, First name, Last name, and account status, account created (if possible), and last logon date (if possible). So for example, I need all that information for groups A, B, and C that are inside OU D. So I can either report on A, B, and C or D. Thanks!
Machine restarts when requested not to
Hi, Build number 80114 I am having an issue with machines asking for a restart when a patch configuration is applied and the setting do not reboot is selected. In some cases the reboot happens regardless and the machine just reboots. In the past if you selected not to reboot the user was not prompted, in the case of pc's it was then just a matter of scheduling a reboot to happen at midnight and the patching is taken care of, with laptops when the user shut down and restarted in thier normal
Report problem
When generating an inventory report for software installed on a computer there are a couple of problems with the report. First, if selecting the overall software name it fails to provide anything in the report, for example, if I choose Microsoft Office 2010, or Microsoft Office 2007 I get no machines having this installed, if I select the Outlook component then I get a list of machines. Schedule agent upgrade
We have a subset of computers that are protected by DeepFreeze. We have worked out a monthly schedule with the I.T. manager to automatically thaw these machines so that Desktop Central has an opportunity to scan and deploy updates. This works very well. However, the problem we have is that whenever we upgrade Desktop Central itself, it then requires the remote agents to also be upgraded. Using the Add UserCollection Wizard, is it possible to select all permutations of Select a Domain/Remote Office: I need to push a common set of HKCU keys and values to all PCs known to DC but we have a multiple Remote Office and Multiple Domain/Workgroup setup. Hello, after upgrading DC to version 8.0.1.14 we can't create software deployment installation TASKs from Service Desk plus(8.1.0 Build 8109). The last time I was able to fix it just regenerating the Authentication Key from Service Desk and inserting it in the admin->service desk plus setting panel. ( I followed the procedure Steps-to-Create-an-Authentication-Key-in-ServiceDesk-Plus-Console ) Am i missing something ? Could you please investigate about it? Continuous Configurations
Is there a way to create a configuration where the target computers can be modified, after it has been set to deploy, without having the configuration push the software to targets that already have the software. Example: New software is being pushed to the enterprise, lets use Java for this example. You set the configuration to push 10 systems. Update to Hotfix SP 1_14.ppm
Hello, I am attempting to install hotfix 8_0_SP-1_14.ppm onto a build:8039. My Desktop Central Server is running on a Win 2008 server. I have done about five if these HotFix installations and they are easy to install. Shutdown Desktop Central service > Run UpdateManager.bat > Select the .ppm file and the install wizard completes the job. My problem comes after I select the .ppm file (ManageEngine_Desktop_Central_8_0_sp-1_14.ppm) and push the Install button the wizard runs for a short time and
Software will not deploy in new build
Support, upgraded to 80113 earlier. Previously working software deployment for Office 2007 now does not function. Errors such as "unable to copy installation folder to target" - account in question has full access to the network share where the package is located and is a local admin of the target server. Changing settings will even error saying the package does not have an installation string configured - of course it does. Click modify and save and it's OK so it obviously did.... Tried with local
Change Software Type From Commercial To Non-Commercial Not Working

Upgrade a script
Hello DC Team! I need to upgrade a Script deployed with a configuration set with option running "at every startup" on all the machines in our AD. My initial idea was to create a configuration to remove the Old script and create a new configuration with the new script (a bat file). The goal is that the new one has to run absolutely when the old one has been removed. Screen Recording Feature

DC isn't syncing with SD+
Using DC feature to search Warranty Expire date at manufacturer (HP) site, work well. The problem I'm having is, DC isn't syncing that information with SD+. DC recognized SD+ integration and viceversa!! (checked already) SD+: 8.1.0 Build 8114 DC: 8.0.0 Build 80101 Is Expire date a valid synching information?
