How to do a bulk "Scan Now" for Warranty Expiry dates
Hello, We have inputted the product number for our HP units and the Expiry Date is still now showing even after the Scheduled Inventory Scan takes place, the Expiry Date info does not populate or update. We have had to open each computer one by one and click on "Scan Now" to pull up Expiry Date info. We have a lot more HP units and this is not a very effective way to update this info. Please tell us there is a better way. Thanks!
New false positive for patch 7753 (MS09-060) Outlook 2003 security update
This morning I'm seeing a whole bunch of hosts (supposedly) missing patch 7753 (MS09-060), a security update for MS Outlook 2003 (KB973705). Only problem is, the machines are running MS Office 2010. On one machine, I tried manually installing the patch, and I was informed the prerequisite software isn't installed -- which I kind of figured. Are you getting other reports of this issue? I'm on the latest available release of Desktop Central and I've just refreshed my patch database a half hour

Adding Services Under Configuration
Hi, Under Configuration > Add Configuration > Computer Configuration > Services I was trying to add some new services that are not available by default. Beside "Service Name" there is the "Customize" option then there is the ability to browse for services. When I click "Browse" the Desktop Central reports that there are "No Computer Available". Deploying 600034-JavaForOSX2013-004
I am having problems delploying this patch to our Mac OS machines. The configurations get "Download failed" errors. I have tried to download the patches but i get a checksum error from Desktop central. I went to Oracle and tried to manually download the patch and rename it and put it in depository folder but it still fails. All my other patches are working fine and there's plenty of space on the server. Our webfilter/firewall are also not affecting this machine. Is there anything else I can try to
Remote control stopped working
I am using latest DC. Updated Java for the millionth time. Now I cant remote control anything and get a ClassNotFoundException and it shows com.adventnet.my computer.viewer.viewer. Anyone have this or any help for me? Not sure what broke, but I am hurtin right now without remote. Also I cant load XML files now when I try Active X viewer.
Mozilla Firefox 22 showing as an OS update
Apologies if this has already been asked: It appears that Mozilla Firefox version 22 is known to Desktop Central patch database, but it's showing up as an OS patch instead of third party. This is happening consistently across our 150 managed clients, and it hasn't ever happened with prior versions of Firefox. Is this a known bug, or is Firefox now considered part of Windows 7/Windows XP by Zoho Corp? Thanks.
MDM
We have run into a problem adding users and devices into the MDM. No matter who we try to add we always get User Name already exists. We connect to our domain, use search to find a user, allocate them to the approprate device and configs and then hit go. It always gives us the same answer "User Name already exists." Help appreciated. Ian
Huge Log FIles - usbconfig_user.log
I am completely new to Desktop Central and have run into an issue. 3 of my workstations have almost run out of space on their hard disks due to an extremely huge logfile (usbconfig_user.log, 118GB, 283GB and 107GB). The rest of the desktops have very small log files. What has caused these three to have such huge logs and how do I delete/fix them?
Problem with deployment of Java 7u21 x86

Bad Data in "resourcemacip" Table

Power settings not deploying properly.
I am playing around and testing with the power scheme settings available in Desktop Central. I deployed a scheme that basically has the Shutdown button set to power off the test unit when the button is pressed, as well as when sleep button is pressed. I verified the test laptop's power settings to see if they changed. The correct scheme name was deployed and set active, but everything seems to be set to default - everything is set to "SLEEP" for the button presses. Currently using the newest build:
Download selected patches
Hello. Yesterday, we tried downloading selected patches, but DC ended up downloading other patches we did not select. Here is what we did: Clicked Latest Patches Filtered by Windows and then individual severity (All but Unrated) Each time we chose a different severity to filter by, ew selected all patches listed and marked as Approved. We then selected all listed patches from the filter set and selected Download Patches. The process started; however, it appears all patches listed under as Latest
Deploying HOSTS files
I am wanting to push down an updated HOSTS file to our remote site computers. What would be the easiest way to achieve this? I've had no issues deploying other software and patches to these computers in the past but not sure the best way to deploy the updated HOSTS file. It would just be replacing the existing one that is currently on their system. All of these computers are Windows XP Pro SP3 systems.
Restrict AD scan to 1 OU
Will there be an update to Desktop Central that allows you to restrict the data collected for AD, to a specific OU? We have multiple companies on different OUs and when I run the AD scan, it collects 7000 AD accounts instead of our 500. This is something that I have been looking for in the last few years.
Unable to tun VBS script on windows 7
We have a script that uninstalls office on remote PC's. When executing this script from desktopcentral to a Windows8 machine it is executed. When executing it to a Windows7 machine it is not executed. Even with the proposed $systemdrive and such parameters it will not execute. I installed some patches to some PC's through Desktop Central 8. When I went back to look at the PC's where the patches were installed, under Remarks it said Reboot Required. I had the user reboot and the message was still there. How long does it take for Desktop Central to update this message? Also is there a way for me to get a report of all the PC's that has been logged in within the last month?

Deployed configurations not ending
Hi, I'm having problems with deploying customs packages, whenever I deploy a package to a machine, the installer/setup starts and runs like it should, but the setup process doesn't close itself afterwards. The status in Desktop Central keeps hanging at "Yet to deploy". The software is always correctly installed, it's just that the setup won't close and as a result desktop central doesn't know that it completed succesfully. Agent Uninstall
Hi, I configured agent in desktopcentral server to not allow uninstall, if you go to add/programs you cannot uninstall but if you use a program uninstaller like ccleaner it could be uninstalled easily, even if you use msconfig you can also disable the service from starting up. Could this be solved ? Thanks
Deploying patches even if some are not downloaded
Can you add an option when deploying patches like the one in "Automate patch deployment" where even if some files are failed to download the configuration continues with available patches already downloaded . Since we have to manually remove "failed to download" updates in order for the configuration to deploy and we don't want to use "automate patch deployment" for some domains. Thanks
Desktop Central agent in startup folder
This may have already been asked, but I cant find anything about it. I noticed when the Desktop Central agent is installed on the client desktops, the agent shortcut is in the AllUsers startup folder. This will not work in my environment as there are a lot of users who have the ability to delete this from the folder. I also noticed that there is an agent service as well. What does this do if the agent is also a shortcut in the startup folder?

After upgrading a license, all workstations managed on the application is missing. Can anyone confirm what could have gone wrong and what to do to fix this?
Unable to deploy XP SP3
It looks like Desktop Central is downloading a different patch, even though SP3 is chosen as the service pack to deploy. We're getting a "problem downloading service pack from server" error. This is what shows up in the downloaded patch section instead of SP3. Clean up Distribution Servers
Is there a task or method to automatically clean up distribution servers deployment repository? We have multiple distribution servers setup (one for each branch), and for some odd reason a few of them have their repositories at like 16GB+ in size. There should be some sort of automated cleanup when a task is removed from a server, or if a patch update is no longer required. Right now I'm not sure how I'm going to clean this up. Patch schedule setup clarification
I've been reading related posts here, but I'm still a little unclear on the exact behavior of the APD configurations, based on what I'm seeing. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish. Patch computers overnight within a 6 hour window. Use WOL to get as many computers as possible. Shutdown the computer when finished. End. Next Day. Serial Number in Macintosh
We have add our Mac lately in Desktop Central. At Intel, the service tag field, is the machine serial and serial number field is the serial of operating System. but, in Macinthosh the service tag is empty and serial number field is the serial of machine and not the operating system serial number Is this correct or a bug ??
All computers missing patch MS11-042 this morning?
For some reason all my computers are saying they are missing patch MS11-042, which is a patch released in 2011. The deploy will fail with "Unknown Error. Code : -2145124329". When I attempt to install the patch manually on a test system, it says that this patch is not applicable.
Desktop Central on Windows Server 2012
On Windows 2012, since there is no start menu, there is no way to access the start menu shortcuts to the batch files (like Start/Stop Desktop Central) if I've hidden the notification tray icon. I just found this out when attempting to install an update. I know I could stop it in services, but since there are multiple services and dependencies, it's not the best solution.
