Dear Support,
I have asked this by email (a few months ago) and thought I would ask again here to see what everyone else thinks.
When you create an automated patch deployment you have the option for it to send you an email when it has completed.
I would like the option for sending an email to be added to EVERY type of configuration.
For example, if I patch a group of servers in the patch management module I would like to be emailed when it completes, with either a summary or verbose report of all the patches applied, success or failure.
Similarly, if I apply a configuration to make a registry change to one PC, again I would like an email when it is applied.
The reason for this is that there is no way to archive configurations (see separate request) and currently when I do my monthly patching I do them is custom batches using custom group: there is often no set pattern to this as lots are out of hours and it depends on my availability.
To keep the list of configurations neat (and manageable) once a configuration has been applied (server patched and now fully up to date for example) I delete it from the configurations list. This means I have a minimal list - currently over 700 configs applied on this DTC installation (taken from the autonumbering when I make a new one) but only 20 or less currently showing in the app.
I can then use the emails as my record of the patching or other config and retain them (like I used to do with your SMP product which cleared out old configs after 30 days).
Many thanks,
Dean
