Hello, My apologies if my questions are clearly documented somewhere already: upon research, I have yet to discover the answers. I am new to Desktop Central and newly managing a Windows 2003 AD domain with GPOs defined for WSUS (prior to implementation of Desktop Central) and using Desktop Central 8 to manage workstation patches. Websense shows multiple instances of Desktop Central managed workstations to visit www.download.windowsupdates.com, some up to 1200x logged instances in a two week period.
How to test DC Agent ICON in System Tray
We are thinking of turning on the Agent Icon in the System Tray (currently it is off) and we want to test the features of the agent. For example, we want to make sure the user cannot disable DC via the Agent (we think not but need to test). We also need to develop a few documents to educate our users on the DC Icon since they have not seen it and what they can do (and how to do it). Hi, Is there a way to run a query of workstations that have version x of software and then deploy version y to that group of workstations? For example, I would like to run a query of workstations that have a version less than 4.0.7577.4409 of Microsoft Lync. Hi, I would like to make a software change request, would it be possible to either be able to close the quick launch box when connected to a machine, or to have a button to call up the quick launch box when required. Pause scheduled shutdown
It would be useful to be able to pause a scheduled shutdown. For example, when I need to leave the computers on for unscheduled troubleshooting, I have to delete the scheduled shutdown and then readd it so that the computers won't shut down. Therefore I have to redo the entire configuration: machine list, time/date, etc. Would it be possible to add a pause option as is available on scheduled configurations?

Several questions on the synchronisation between the inverntory/asset registers in these two products: 1. If I delete from DC does the workstation get deleted from SD+ ? 2. Hi, When Desktop Central was first installed it was not envisaged that it would take up as much space as it does and therefore it was installed on a disk without enough space. Hi, we have a network which contains several subnets and we've defined an ip scope and a remote office in Desktop Central. There's only one Distribution server on the network and the the remote office is setup to use direct communication over https. We're running Desktop Central 8 release 80296 -- I think that's the latest available. Patch / Vulnerability DB updates happen every night at 1800 (and I run it manually every morning, just to be sure). I see the Mac version of the Adobe ShockWave Player v12.06 dated November 28, and I see the template for creating a package to deploy Adobe ShockWave Player v12.06, but I don't see a Win version of the Adobe ShockWave Player v12.06 in the list of available patches. Problem with the way IE v11 shows up in Software Inventory
We're running Desktop Central 8 release 80296 (I think it's the latest available). I've used the templates to create a package for deploying IE v11 for Win 7 x64 (noticed that it was recommended we remove the command-line option that doesn't look for updates). I am trying to push a folder shortcut to certain users' desktops. So far, I'm failing miserably. I am going to Configurations, User Configurations, Shortcut, and then defining the configuration. External IP address change for server
We have changed our ISP and as a result our external IP address has changed. I have changed the address in the NAT settings but there appears to be no way to change it on the Agent on the phones. I am unable to uninstall the app from a Droid Maxx. It tells mee i must deactivate the app because it is a device administrator but I don't see anyway to do that. It appears that the only option is to wipe the phone back to factory defaults. Help Mike

I'm planning on setting up automatic patch deployment, but I'd like to have to ability to roll back or uninstall a patch across the board if it is causing problems. There doesn't seem to be an "uninstall" option when looking at installed patches. Is there a way to do this? Thanks Candi
MS Patch KB2861193 - False Positive
Hi, A few of our machines are scanned in DC and apparently missing patch KB2861193 - However, this patch is not for the machines. The machines scanned are Windows 7 SP 1 and the details from the MS website say the patch is applicable to .Net 4.5 on Vista SP2 and Svr 2008 SP 2 only >> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2861193 Is there anything I can do to remove this patch from DC so it doesn't show a false positive?

Links not working in File Folder Operation window
Hi, I am trying to use desktop central for copying, moving, renaming files in various files in the managed computers. But the problem I am experiencing is that the links in the File Folder Operation window are not working for me. In step 2, ie Define Configuration, I cannot move to tabs "Rename", "Move" and "Delete" from the tab "Copy". The button "Add More File/Folder" in step 2 is also not functioning. I am not able to save the configuration as the "Save As Draft" button is not working. Kindly

Desktop Central Remote Contol across countries
Hi All, i would like some information on the best way to setup DesktopCentral for use in different countries. currently we have one central DesktopCentral server with multiple distribution servers. the main DC server is in the UK so when the guys in the USA are starting a remote connection to a clients machine the connection is started from the UK DC server so the remote connection is very slow. can i setup a USA server for DesktopCentral or is there a way for the remote connections to connect

Deployed configurations not updated with newly added members in AD group
