Database Maintenance - Manual Execution
We've been using OM for about 2 years. We are a few versions behind and i want to upgrade. I received the files from Zoho and started the process, but the backup of the DB took a full 8 hours, and never finished. The backup process got stuck on one statistics table from May. I went in to DB maintenance and changed all the settings to 3 days. I read on a forum post that I need to wait 24 hours for the actual deletion to happen. I'm on a tight schedule with other projects and things. How can
adding a SNMP Process Monitor
I'm trying to monitor a process on a server with SNMP. I have one server where this is already working but on this one it looks like I'm only able to monitor processes with WMI. When I click "add Process Monitors", I get the error: UserName/Password details are not configured for this device. The performance monitors (CPU, memory, disk) work with SNMP. When I try to add the monitor using Process Templates I have the same problem. When selecting the server in the dropdown, I have only the option WMI
cannot add HP Procurve switch
Hi, We are using Opmanager 9 with Windows 2008R2, so far we have added number of routers and servers without any issue. Now when I am trying to add HP Procurve switch, it say device successfully added but I can't find the device I tried all the possible ways to added but in vain. I have many times verified my SNMPv3 credentials, even with the snmp tester from the Opmanager server and snmp tester successfully test snmp to the switch. Please help to resolve the issue. Stored Credentials
Are the credentials provided either in the Global Parameters or the "use the below credential for the device" stored in the database in an encrypted level? What table and field? If encrypted, what is used. We need to identify the security risk of accounts given such priveledges and potential of obtaining said credientals.
VMware DPM
Hi there, I plan to use the VMware fonction Distributed Power Management for a cluster which is monitored by Opmanager. DPM can stop a host depending of the charge on a cluster. Citix Xenserver 5.5 Monitoring via SNMP
Hi All, I have enabled our Citirx Xen Server with the SNMP. I'm able to see the see the network information on my monitoring solution i have in place. However i'm not able to see the performance status and health information such as CPU, Processor, Datastore, number of guest OS and etc. Can get guidance on how where can i get the MIBs and OIDs for Xenserver 5.5. CPU vs Core
Hello, I'm monitoring aHPProLiantDL380G7X5660 with 24 cores, I only see 2 CPUs in the graphs. Does this mean that OpManager monitors/graphs the physical CPUs and not the cores? Is it posssible to monitor the cores and show them in the graphs? Thanks Nicolas
New Template for Eaton Ex1000 UPS - Oids all get .0 appended when creating monitors
Eaton/Powerware ex1000 UPS MIB imports correctly and I can query values from device using MIB browser but when OIDs are added to a custom template, for example .1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.2.4 which is "upsEstimatedChargeRemaining", .0 gets appended to the OID in the monitor by opmanager. I can see from the forums that this is not an isolated thing. Advice seems to be to edit opmanager_graphInfo.xml in \Program Files (x86)\ManageEngine\OpManager\conf\ and change type parameter to "interface" for each affected
Is there a way to have OPM 9101 launch a cmd promt, or putty for SSH... secure CRT?

VMs losing network connectivity: Suggestion
One of our customer experienced this issue(in VMware environment) frequently in the past. He identified the root cause and fixed it. Here is his comment. We are running OpManager 8721 on a Virtual machine (ESX 4.0.0) 2 vCPU and 2 Gb RAM OS: Windows 2003 R2, 32 bit We are monitoring about 200 devices. I reinstalled VMWare tools (to exclude some options) and enabled the backup of the Virtual machine through VMWare. Since that moment the CPU consumption by java.exe has spiked to 100 %. While trying to discover a Force10 s50v - it appears to classify it as a server with netsnmp - how does one rectify this so that all the appropriate monitors appear for the switch. Changing the tags manually does not populate monitors
Alert reminders for extended down time
Is there a way to configure OpManager to send reminders of a critical alert if a device is down for an extended period of time? We monitor routers and switches at remote locations that will occasionally lose power. We have notification profiles setup for when the device misses 1, 3 or 5 polls, but those all come in within the first 30 minutes or so. If we have a power outage that lasts several hours, it would be nice to get a reminder every two hours or so that the device is down. Is there anyway

Hello, I'm using OpManager 9101 and have successfully created a custom monitor that displays the throughput of a switch interface using some notes from an old forum post. The monitor OID looks like the following: (.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10+1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16)*8/($DELTA_TIME*1000*1000) This returns a rounded integer value in Mbps. Hello-- We have some Domain Controllers that we want to monitor some of their Windows services. One example that we want to monitor is the DNS Server service--but there are several more services and we need to monitor for other servers as well. How Do I Apply the Same Monitors and Notification Profiles to Multiple Devices?

OpManager Nokia Checkpoint Monitoring
Hello everyone First post on the forums so........ hello! I am trialing Opmanager 9 to see if we like the tool for SNMP monitoring of our firewalls. We want to use it for basic monitoring of octive connection count, cpu, disk space, memory etc. I have uploaded the checkpoint mib file onto OpManager and I am able to get stats back on CPU and disk space. [Urgent] Process up / down False Alarm.
We are having the problem on monitoring server’s process. Installation information: OPM 9101, Win 2008 R2 64 bit, DB: MSSQL 2008. Situation: We are monitoring the Process of the server. But, OPM show it is down (and it goes up later itself). But, process was working all the time in the server. It was false alarm over and over. I changed the ping.properties’s timeout to 4. still no luck. Monitoring process shows down and up (false alarm) in OpManager. Is there any way to solve the process up/down

Unable to restore DB backup - opManager
I am trying to restore a backup from our opManager install to a new server. I have used the backup utility and the command line to backup our opManager database and then import to the new server.
