We are running OpManager 8721 on a Virtual machine (ESX 4.0.0) 2 vCPU and 2 Gb RAM

OS: Windows 2003 R2, 32 bit

 

We are monitoring about 200 devices.

 

I reinstalled VMWare tools (to exclude some options) and enabled the backup of the Virtual machine through VMWare. Since that moment the CPU consumption by java.exe has spiked to 100 %. I have added a second vCPU, the CPU load got down to 70 % - but still unacceptable.

 

So: Before I reinstalled VMWare tools: CPU usage was 10% of 1 vCPU

After: 70 % of 2 vCPU's!

 

Of course I have reinstalled VMWare tools again - exactly as it was - but the damage was done. The included picture shows exactly what has happened.

 

Please, can anyone help!
