localhost:8080 Not open?
Currently having a bash with the linux version of this great little product. I'm currently running Suse 9.3. The status reports the server has been started and that you can connect to http://localhost:8080, however no process is using port 8080, nothings opened it and you can't get a connection to it. The firewall is disabled, hosts files seem okay. Is there anything else i can check?

HTML Emails
Hi, We currently have an issue where if a user sends an email to the service desk and it is HTML formatted, when it gets picked up by servicedesk, the requests list gets blanked. There becomes only one request listed, which has no subject or text in it within the list. To resolve the problem we have to edit the request and remove all of the HTML, then save it. I would image this is because of something like the </BODY> or similar tags in the email? Not a major problem, but a little painful as we

Inventory PC in Double
HI, I'm looking in the Inventory of All my Domain and I see a couples of computer in double or more and is it possible to do a clean up in there ??? Webportal for Opmanager and ServiceDesk Plus Info
I have been very impressed with the capabilities and the layout of the web interfaces for both products. We are looking into providing a web portal for our users on information related to our Department. We would like to be able to pull the status of certain servers from Opmanager and display them via a webportal. Also, have that capability with ServiceDesk Plus. By any chance could there be a Webportal for these products in development. If not, is there any way we could have a lending hand on making

I am using the contract module in ServiceDesk Plus for one of my technicians. I want to create a role for her with Contract permissions only - I can do that, but I also want her to be able to add and delete vendors. Is this possible?

Why can a requester see more equipment than assoicated to
Hi Just purchased Servicedesk and its great. I have imported my users from AD and assoicated equipment to their details. However when a user created a new request they can still drill down the rest of the inventory. Ideally i would only want them to see their own equipement or shared equipment such as network printers and photocopiers etc. Is this possible ?? Thanks

Cannot start ServiceDesk on SLES9
Hi! I just downloaded and try to install ServiceDesk on a plain vanilla SLES9 installation. I followed the graphical installer, everything was sweet. When I try to start it using run.sh it fails with this message: Server is starting. This may take a couple of minutes ... Free edition... Hi - I am trialing V4.1.0 of the service desk plus software on a linux server. Have just got to the active directory import, but it will not find our domain. Is this an issue? Or is there some config work that needs to be done??? Thanks Pete

Auto-email to technician
I dunno what went wrong. I ticked at "Notify technician(s) by email when a new request is created" When I received an e-mail request, I assign the request to a particular technician, but there was no e-mail received by him. I click on Task->Notify->E-mail the Technician button, it works fine. (Manually) Is it something wrong with my SD setup? Thank you
Problem starting MySQL on ServiceDesk and EvenLog

Mapping a FQDN to the IP and port number for name resolution
I am running SD on a Windows 2003 server that is also running IIS. The server is currently hosting a handful of other sites as well which are all currently assigned their own IP address. My problem is mapping a FQDN (servicedesk.domain.com) to the localhost:8080 address. Anyone have a tip for me?

Hello Is there a way to change the subject text of the E-mail notifications that are sent by ServiceDesk Plus ? Is it possible to customize the body text of the e-mail ? add some general text, signature, etc... that is always repeated in each E-mail sent ? thanks

Login Name - First Letter is UPPERCASE
I imported users from AD and found that all login names (1st Letter) are in UPPERCASE. Many users could not login to the self-service portal. After checking, I found out that our login names should be in all lowercase. Seems that SD+ is case sensitive and didn't inherit the specs from AD. Is it a problem or designed in that way? Thank you
Feature request
Posting this here as the Feature Request facility doesn't seem to be working at the moment: Would it be possible to have the facility to set up a series of addresses, etc, which could then be available in drop-down lists when entering the billing and shipping addresses for a Purchase Order? Feature Request: Freeware Licenses and ignore hotfixes
Just a feature suggestion regarding software: If software is set to 'excluded' then it is not shown when viewing details of a machine within the inventory (this would be expecially useful for items such as hotfixes etc) Also, it would be useful to be able to categorize software as freeware, and therefore all users would show as having a license for the product. Just bought the product though, and most impressed.
Bug - ' in names causes crashes
Here in Northern Ireland, it's reasonably common to have an apostrophe in their surnames - such as O'Neill. When you select one of these names from the requester list, Internet Explorer either pops up with a blank window or pops up with an error message that says: A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug? Line: 45 Error: Expected ';' Thanks for any help.

Is the max number of requesters 200, if so can this be increased?
Service Pack 6 does strange things with HTML emails
I just installed service pack 6, and now the emailed requests that were in HTML format are doing strange things to the request list.
Notifications
Now SP6 has fixed the notifications, could someone comment on the following please? 1) Can the format be changed to HTML so the emails don't look out of alignment? 2) Can notifications be sent when a note is added to a call and also include the note content? 3) Can the email be edited to include the URL of the site (until email replies are handled properly?)
Editing Purchase Orders
Is it possible to edit the details on a purchase order after it has been changed? We regularly receive invoices for workstations etc where prices have had to be changed because of unavailability of parts and changes in shipping costs.
Adding Technicians
Is there a way to change a Requester to a Technician after importing details from active Directory? Currently the only way I've been able to do this is to delete the Requester, then recreate them as a Technician.
Feature Request: Reports
On the reports it would be nice if the columns were totalled and if there were an option to export to Excel (or CSV file).
Software version does not appear & Excluded type
When managing software, the version is not identified and I don't see where I can change it??? Also when the software type is set to Excluded, it still records the software as unlicensed - should this be or would it be better for the "license" part of the system to not appear when type is set to Excluded. For example Acrobat Reader is free software. Do you intend us to specify licenses for this software or should we not have to. Regards, David.
Vendor List not showing all & can't select multiple item
- When we entered the vendor Microsoft and selected all the software associated to Microsoft, the list appeared to not show all associations. It states they are added but they are not appearing in the view and there appears to be no next page. - Is it possible to to request that we have the ability to select more than one item in the pull down menus when products to the vendors?
