I have downloaded ServiceDeskPlus 5 for evaluation. It seems an excellent one which can make save great time for us. But unfortunately I was disappointed the way it works (or it does not). I really would like to try it, but in our situation it becomes impossible. Here is some vital information about my problem. I will be grateful if you can help. � I have an XP machine with SP2 and IIS installed. � I do not have any databases installed except Microsoft Access. � My local settings are set to Turkish.
Server with Turkish locale won't start / won't backup
Hello, I am testing the SD+ v6. The server does not start with locale TR(Turkish) as in SD+ v5.5 :( The issue was raised up before in forums where the suggestion was running the server via "C:\AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk\bin\run.bat" But now I realize that I can not make backups "C:\AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk\bin\backupData.bat". Images in message template
I would like to create footer for every notification being sent to requester. The footer contains technician name, phone number and our company logo. The problem is that I cannot embed the company logo! The only possibility is to insert a web link but this function seems to be broken. Even if it worked, I do not want to insert a link, because spam filters will throw my mail away. I want to embed a image like MS Outlook does. Is it possible? Thanks, Jerry
Notification Rules questions
Hello, There is a option to notify the technicans in all new requests, but I want to know if is there a way to make this notifications be sent to some esecify users, like my director... manager... and others without be a technican. Other question is, is there a way to link the requesters to a group, so when we receive a new request by the "user" or domain e-mail "@companyA.com", it need be followed to specify users, like "the manager account of the company A", and not to all technicans... its possible?
Not able to delete a workstation from servicedesk
I am not able to delete a workstation from servicedesk(Assets Category).I am getting following error.Pls help. FAILURE :Database exception while deleting Workstation. : Cannot delete or update a parent row: a foreign key constraint fails Please report the problem to the system administrator, with the Error Code - 1,238,241,091,765.
Release 7.6 Question
In the release notes for the 7.6 roadmap, it mentions: �Business Rule Enhancements ◦Option to send mail when a rule matches. Will this include support for the change module? Currently business rules only work for requests, which is a big problem for us. Thanks
Can't seem to import requesters from AD, using Server 2008..
Hello, I have used ServiceDesk Plus for a few years now at two different companies running Windows Server 2003 domains. Now I am trying to run this program with a Windows Server 2008 domain and cannot seem to import any requesters. It has been a while since I set this up so maybe I am just missing something. How can I get the "Resolved Date" added to the list of columns avialable in the List view? Right now I can see Created Date, and Completed Date, but I want to also be able to see Resolved date (and sort on it). I would prefer is this was not a report.

ASSET - Adding a workstation - Deletes another
I did a domain scan and I noticed that there were about 10 PC's out of 100 that wasn't added. So as I was adding them one by one I noticed that when I would add one, it would randomly delete another Workstation in the list. I tried this 4-5 times and it did it every time. I restarted the Service Desk server and tried again and it did the same thing. Has anyone seen this? Is there a solution?
Can ServiceDesk Plus 7.5 listen on port 443 securely
It appears that the port can be set to any port from 0 to 65536, but does it support SSL? if we set to the port to 443, I want to make sure that some SSL engine is running. If not, is there a recommened way to put SD Plus 7.5 behind a firewall with port mappings? Thanks, AT
Change Management - Minor Gripe
Two minor gripes about the change management module: 1) There is no way to require fields be filled out when the change is submitted. Since email notification is sent immediately after the change is created, many changes are light on details. Is this getting changed in 8.0? 2) The "standard" change type - I understand why it's locked, but why can't I change the color or the name? I'd like to put numbers in front of the types to indicate severity, but I can't. (Can I set this in the database manaully?)
Silent Scan
Is the Silent Scan feature from AE (ie the vbs file) being ported to SD+? If not can i use AE 5 to do the silent scan and then export / import into SD+? Would this cost me extra in licence fees? Could someone please help with the best way to do an 'agent' scan into SD+ Many Thanks Alex

Deleting Requests & Attachments
I noticed that when a request is deleted, any files or images that were attached to the request are still located in \ServiceDesk\fileAttachments\Request. Shouldn't these files be deleted along with the request?
Business rules can't filter exactly
I have a problem with business rule. I have 3 rules, but when email send to SD system, only top rule run although no criteria match. My SD version is 7.5.0 build 7506. Any one can help me? Thanks.
Prevent requesters changing personal information on portal
Is it possible to prevent requesters from changing any fields within the My Details tab? We had published a new field called Pritner Pin. We have populated this field with a number. We would like the users to be able to see their PIN but not make any changes to it. Is this possible?

7.5 - Product Type Server - How to migrate assets?
With 7.5 there is an inbuilt product type called Server, as there is Workstation, Printer etc. We, like others I expect, created a defined product type called Servers and have many products classified as such. Is there an easy way to migrate all our 'custom product' Servers to the new standard 'Server'. All I can see would be to list all the products and go though one by one and change. No filter on that page or ability to sort on Product Type so a slightly painfull exercise I assume. Andy

MAPI Support Request
I've searched the ServiceDesk Plus forums, and have seen lots of requests for MAPI support as we, like others, have been told POP3 and IMAP simply are not supported due to our company's global policies. Has an add-on/plug-in been released for ServiceDesk which allows it to connect to change as a MAPI client? I noticed one forum post mentioned late 2007 or early 2008 for this inclusion. Automatic mail reply icon colors change to different color?
Hello, There a way to change the default mail icon colors for automatic replies ? I now cant say, looking at the main ticket view, if a reply was a automatic reply or a reply followup from a technician. would be handy if the auto replies got a different color other than the replies from technicians. thanks hmcollege

Possibility to remove details from request view
Hello, I'm still exploring all the functionalities of SDP and I've yet to find a way to customize the request view so that technicians don't see all information related to a ticket? For some support teams it might be vary redundant with information on what template was used, mode etc... So, is there a nice and quick way to change what fields appear in the request view? Maybe a basic setting I've missed, maybe some change needed in the archive, maybe there's an open suggestion on the roadmap page?
Request - News item or welcome message on login screen
Feature request: As an admin, I'd like to be able to post a short message on the Dashboard of everyone who logs in. This short message might say "Lots of new Solutions are now available" or "Helpdesk will be unavailable from 3pm-4pm" - that sort of thing. Just a short piece of information that I could easily enter and that everyone would see. What do you think?

how to create default request form for other departments
hello, we are running the latest SDP build and i've created 3 sites and a few groups and departments. I've create a new technician for department x. Now when i logon as that technician and create a new request i get the default request form that is used by all technicians. Can i create a default requester form for specific technicians or departments ? so that not all technicians get the same default requester form ? thanks

Hello, Workstation type is wonderful, I can see it on all the views in Asset Management. But, if I want to run a report to show me all Laptops... I cannot. Not a field in the table. Does it exists somewhere ?? Can I run and update Workstations Types in Asset Management in SD ? I have laptops, workstations, server, thinclients, mobile devices. Any help would be appreciated..!!!
Error Occurred while deleting product.
I looked through the forum and found some issues that were similar to this but found none with a real solution. When I try to delete a product I receive an error. There is nothing associated with this product as far as I can tell. FAILURE :Error occurred while deleting product.
