Error when updating to Build 60318
Currently running 60300 on Win Vista Business x86 platform. When going to update the error attached to this posting pops up. Any thoughts on what to do to fix this?
Patch management and software deployment
Hi, (DC=Desktop Central) 1) when i launched the patch management from the server to the client through DC agent in computer configuration, it does not execute on the client machine. when i checked teh status of the deployment in the DC server, it spilled out the error as " Could not copy the installables to the client computers: unknown error code: 4500080". Please suggest us where i missed out the installables and what is it? 2) when software deployment is used in computer configuration for uninstallation
Desktop Central Server Will not Start
The other day I went to go access the DC and it told me the database had stopped. I went onto the server (running Windows Vista Business x86) and found the error below in the event log, and the service will no longer start. It appears the DB is corrupted, how can I restore from one of my older backups? Below is a log entry that I found today on my DC server (running SP3). The system has not been touched or logged into for a week now, so I am not sure why or how this has happened. Please let me know
Patch for OS in Spanish
If I have my windows in English and will install the Add-on for that language is Spanish, does the tool or Central Desktop has to be all in English?
Dynamic Variables
I created a registry configuration to modify the "RegisteredOwner" and "RegisteredOrganization" values in the registry. In order to ensure that the RegisteredOwner values are setup correctly, I used the dynamic variable $DomainUserName that I selected from a list of available variables during configuration setup. Post XPsp3+IE7 patches not downloading
Romanus, Let me start off by saying that the new native service pack deployment menu is a nice feature to have in DC and works flawlessly. But, after upgrading my test machines to sp3 and IE7, there are about 30-40 more critical Windows Updates that need to be installed. MAC OS X Support Needed
It's finally here. MAC's are making there way into our Corporate Environment and it feels like I'm back 10+ years for managing the desktop. Back to putting the app on a share or sneaker network. Besides what Apple offers there isn't anything else out there (unless you have a suggestion.) It would be a bombshell if you guys did the same for MAC's as you do for Windows. DC remote control � Feeling comparatively SLOW
Hi We are using DC remote control to connect to the remote computers using JAVA view. We�re also using another program on few machines to connect machines remotely. DC remote control is much slower than other. 1st it takes time to load JAVA then to connect & even after connection usage is also bit slow. Please advice if I am missing something. Best Regards Adeel
Unstall VNC
Having little trouble uninstalling VNC. I have followed the directions from the deployment guide but keep getting the following message: path not found. Now I know for installs I have to have the package on a network share but the VNC was not installed that way. Do I need to copy the uninst000.exe to a network share than use the command line switches?
Reboot Messages
Would be very nice to be able to change the Reboot Message permantly instead of using the default Desktop Central message each time. Would also be nice to be able to create several "Canned" messages that you could pick from. I customize my message each time to let them know if they have questions who to call and a number...this way they don't think it's just a fluke from Internet Explorer or something and ignore it. Thx! Agent install from server
Has anyone since upgrading to the latest version experienced issues with deploying the agent from the server. This started about two updates ago.
WOL Issues Revisited and Blanks MACs and Incorrect Inventory
3 Different issues so far. 1. WOL functionality is intermittent. MAC addresses do not populate in WOL even though they appear in the hardware tab. Single WOL request targetted at that machine only does work but when the machine is part of a large WOL request it fails. Mutiple machine on same switch (example 5 machines) only 2 wake up. 2. MACs in WOL show blank but are populated in hardware inventory. 3. Software inventory not updating after patching. For example: Software inventory on machine's show

I have check to install patch after reboot. Not both boxes, but yet I get this message. Why would it say OR in 90 minutes refresh policy. When I didn't check all above and only check after reboot? PC Redundancy/Duplicates in Inventory
Is there a way to automatically search for redundant computers by mac address or computer name? We have a situation where our desktop image is built with the Desktop Central agent installed (so it's there when deploying PCs). These PCs automatically report to the DC server and get added to DC inventory before they're added to the domain. They when the get added to domain, they report again creating a duplicate inventory entry. Is there a utility or option to filter duplicates out? Perhaps by serial

I am trying to install our first software via DC. I have an EXE for Adobe8. If I run this package on the command-line with /q then it works. Can't see login user
I can't see who the login user is under the remote pc. I like to see the user name on the left. It's there but with a NA then pc name then IP address. I just update to 6.3 today. Mike

I have asked this question differently before with no answer so here it is again reworded. How do I specific a patch to install at exactly 00:30:00? I DO NOT want it to start 90 minutes after 00:30:00 or whenever it feels like it. Does anyone have any idea on how to promptly make this product work? -Joe

Remote Control fail.
Hi, I'm new to this software and I seem to be having problems trying to deploy it onto my test network. I can not get remote control to go onto anything other than the local host machine (win2k3). I've tried the suggested KB links, running the agent install with the VBscript files via CSCRIPT to no avail. All NAT policies, to my knoweledge, are correct. I know this is for beta OS, this is just fyi. agent reports that ms08-030, ms08-052, mswu-091, mswu-163, and mswu-165 are applicable to Windows 7 when they are not. this is probably due to the beta reporting itself as vista ultimate edition gold right now. again, just a heads up.
