Restricting user access?
I have been configuring OpManager for user logins for specific network views. My question is how to edit the top tabs for help, personalize, talkback etc. The issue is that after I assign a user a password they can change it through the personalize link. I am curious on where I could edit the .xml files to remove this feature, keeping the user from changing the password and appearance. I am also curious if I am able to add another email so when a user submits a talkback I cam CC'd on it as well.
service won't start?

Cisco Catalyst WS-C2950T-48-SI Switches
Hi there We have a number of Catalyst 2950-48-SI switches on our network, but they appear as unknown devices in OpManager. I have tried to look for them manually, but the closest in OpManager is the 2950-48-G. Will selecting this device work? Thanks
Newbie Install Issues - Failed to establish connection with
I have installed OpManager on on E-Smith SME server which is based on Redhat. When i run StartOpManagerServer I get the following error "Verifying connection with web server ... Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." When i run StartWebSvr.sh I get this error: "[root@devbox apache]# ./StartWebSvr.sh bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb-3.2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" Any Suggestions

MSSQL Monitor, time definition
Hi, I need the definition of the response time for MS SQL Monitor. My monitor says Response time = 36766 ms! This is a fast server - 2xXeon 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, not that much workload (~30db's). There must be something wrong with that response time, or that i don't understand your definition :)

Hi, I have two Sun V40z server running on dual AMD opthelon processor. I want to monitor this boxes using OpsManager. Everything (Services, Interface, Disk Usage) is working fine except CPU and Memory utilization. CPU always stay at 26% and Memory 57%. I am using SNMP agent in the boxes. customized reports
I need to create customized reports based on the performance data such as Tx Rx traffic on any given set of interfaces. e.g DSL links usage report, T1 links usage report or backbone usage report. Active Directory Import - Timing Out

Alarm Escalation Cycles
When defining an Alarm Escalation, what is the point of being able to define the rule timeframe down to minutes; (e.g. "If x category is not cleared within x minutes") ...if the email escalation can only be defined in hours? ( "Run this check every x hours") If an alert has not been acknowledged or cleared within x minutes, I need to escalate it immediately via email; How does one achieve this?

WMI Access Denied
Hi. I just bought AppManager and now currently setting up the configs. I have several standalone Win2K and Win2K3 servers, all with different administrator passwords. In particular, I need to monitor 2 Win2000 (say A and B) and 1 Win2003 (say C) servers. I have no issue when setting up System Monitoring using WMI to server B and C. Latest SD+ not installing
We have exactly the same problem as the other SD+ users. We have downloaded the trial period. Then proceeded to install the latest version, on running Windows 2003 Server web Edition with SP1 installed. During the ServiceDesk installation process about 90% the blue bar hangs (Application layer) right below the T in Advent . mysql startup problem
Hello, first thanks a lot for a great application. It works well with SuSE 9.2 and Kernel 2.6.8-24 but with Kernel 2.6.4-52 is see following startup error. "Server is starting. Hi, On the router/switch interface graphs of older data, I'd like to see two extra lines for maximum in/out traffic rates, as well as the average values reported at present. The traffic rates on these graphs are averaged down as you go back in time, and the maximum values are lost. A bit like what you can do with MRTG! many thanks, alec --
Bug Found with Solutions
If you create a solution with keywords "network,printer" and add it to the list, you can search on network and on printer. If you then modify that solution to have keywords "network,printer,paper" you can not search on paper. In short, the bug is that if you "modify" an existing solutions keywords the search database does NOT update.
Can't get any log from sun box!
Dear support, We are testing event analyzer 4 build 4001, we can sucessfully get logs from Linux box, but can get nothing from SUN (solaris box). We followed the instruction, because the port 513 is occupied by WHO, so we use port 1514/udp for syslogd on the box by editing the /etc/services file and add the unix host (listen on port 1514/udp), restart the syslogd and alos the eventlog analyzer service, but we got nothing from the box, and we even tried on default syslogd port 514/udp, still got nothing,
SP10 Not Installing

Firefox and IE difference
Hello, Attached is an image of the conversation area of an open request. In Internet Explorer it looks great. But in Firefox 1.07 it's sized incorrectly. This is on Windows XP SP2. This is consistent on several different computers at our office. So, it's not just one PC or a intermittent problem. I'm not getting hourly data when going back a few days trying to get hourly data from Monday. Please view attached file. Does the product keep hourly data this long? I don't think its a very long time. Is there a configuration change to allow for it?

Monitoring Disk Utilization
Hi. I'm trying to setup an alert for disk utilization. However, when creating the threshold, I just realized that it can only put threshold by percentage, and not by direct numbers (in MB or GB). It is quite difficult to put threshold by percentage, since it is more natural to put direct numbers there (critical if below 100 MB, regardless of total disk size, for example). Is it possible to put numbers instead of percentage? Maybe by using a different monitor? Also, if I have to use percentage, why
New Feature Request(s)
#1) The ability to "sort" requests by the various fields, i.e. requestor, due by. I am surprised I can not just click the field and have it sorted ? #2) I think this is a bug but it may be working "as intended" I have SDP4.1R10 set to notify technicans via email when a new request is added. However when i add a task none of us get an email. When i assign the task we do get emails .. Does the "notify technicians" notification ONLY work if the request is automaticaly assigned by SDP ?
Purchasing feature
I have been using SD+ for a 2 months now and on the whole its pretty much what we want and the update list and support is great. I have a request regarding the purchasing feature. Would it be possible to part-recieve items, not all items purchased on one PO number arrive to us on the same day. Event Logs Issue
I am not able to get any alarms from event log monitoring of the localmachine. After poking around on these forums, I found a post asking someone to test WMI by running: cscript event.vbs machinename domainname\administrator administratorpassword timeinterval(in seconds) The error I get is, "Error # User credentials cannot be used for local connections" If I rerun the above code and omit the username and password, it returns some event data. Devices Do Not Delete

Viewing Unsolicited Traps
I expect this is an easy one, but how do I view the full content of an Unsolicited trap? When I view through the WebUI, I can only see two lines of any Unsolicited trap, which doesn't give me enough on the detail to determine what the trap is about, and thereby create a trap processor. Is the full trap kept in the logs somewhere?
