App Manager cause high CPU in Redhat ES3
Hi, My App Mgr (latest version, trial) is running on Redhat ES3. I found out that it constantly cause high CPU utilization around 90-99% ! The process is java. Anybody got the same issuse? Any workaround? Thanks. --idaham
Upgrading to 5
Has anyone encountered (and corrected) the following error when trying to upgrade 4.1 to 5? The pre invocation class returns a constant that is not supported. I just did a clean reinstall of 4.1, and I am trying to upgrade to 5. I put the ppm file in the home directory. I also added the zip file that had the ppm file in it in the same home directory (as instructed). It doesn't seem to be working. Please help.
Asset Viewing & Reports
Will it be possible in a future release to view/search assets by their Asset Name or Allocated to user ie by clicking on the top sort field to view by assigned to user rather than at the moment having to drill down the list to find the item by item name. Also a report for Inventory control to show all assets in a department, we have many items allocated to stores or scrap and wish to run a report to show which items we have in stores etc. At the moment this is no possible or not easy to run. shedule built-in reports for email delivery
I would like to schedule some of the built-in reports that audit login info, critcal error's, ext to be sent via email on a daily basis. It seems that as though I can schdule my created reports, I can not schedule the ones that are pre-defined and built into the application. This is a larger deal because of the extremly limited ability to customize when creating new reports. Seems to me with out these 2 functions, eventlog analyzer is not living to its full potential If anyone has found solutions
Workstations assigned to Departments now viewed in Request
Hi, I dont know if I'm doing something wrong over this but this is the way I understand workstations assignment: If 1 or more workstation are assigned to a user then the user has this workstations available on the Request Page. This is working fine. If several workstations are assigned to a Department then a user from that Department should see all those workstations and should be able to select any. Problem backing up 4.1 sp12
Having a bit of a problem ensuring i have a full backup before i upgrade to version 5. Keep getting a Heap error when i run the backup. Its creating a file but i cant be sure its complete. Any ideas?

I want to ensure that the technician fill in those fields while creating a new request. Also, when closing a request, how to ensure that Resolution is entered.
application performance
viweing reports / events. The wait can be exptremly long 5+ minutes. Is there any tweaks to get this app to preform better? required win updates? patches ? configs ? ext. Love the app but desperate to get it to preform. Is currently running on a dell 1750 with 2Gb of ram on a gigabit network being accessed from the server itself.
Email Requester
Sending notification failed. This is what I get when I try to email a requestor or a tech. When I email myself there is not a problem. What am I missing. I have checked my mail server setting and they look fine. Come to think of it, I would not be able to email myself if they were not. I am so confused.
Scan only missing/new computers + recognize renamed ones
It's a pain having to scan the whole network when you know only 10-20 machines have been changed. Is there going to be a feature to scan only new found machines? Also I'm having a really hard time with machines that get renamed all of the static settings that I have for the machine have to be entered again which makes it really time consuming. Is there a plan to identified the renamed machines and give you the option to move everything to the newly found one? Again this two things are currently driving

OpManager finds a lot of devices automatically and does look very nifty... 1) Something I've been struggling with though. On a network x.y.z.0/24 I have 2 identical 4506 switches. One is discovered and snmp managed (blue star) without any problem, where the other isn't. Adding the second device manually gets it thrown in under the "Desktop"

CPU utilization missing from Domain Controllers
When you change the device from Server to Domain Controller: - You lose CPU utilization graph. An SNMP CPU utilization monitor is automatically created under the Monitor | Resource Monitors, but this does not populate the dashboard dial with any data - The username / password is blanked out of the device (which has resulted in windows Event | security - lockout events for Guest (an account which is locally disabled anyway). - ADDITIONAL FIELDS is not available on Domain Controllers. .... Move SD+ to new server
I was evaluating SD+ and installed it on a fairly old server (dual P3-550 with WinNT), and would now like to move it over to newer hardware (dual P4 2.8G, Win2003). What is the best way to do this? Is there a FAQ on this anywhere? Thanks, Rushin

Router and Switch Discovering

Hi, I want to monitor the maximum call duration with SNMP (MIB) on several Cisco 3640 routers with BRI (ISDN) interfaces. i've checked all existing Monitors but none offer what i need. Server on Solaris is show as Unknown Server
Hi, I have one server on Solaris SunOS 5.6, when I try to insert my server in the Monitor Server, the system show an error. "Authentication failed. Kindly verify the username and password provided.Also check whether the given Command Prompt is correct." But my password and username are OK, and I try in the prompt "$, #" and it dont works !!! My server is show as Unknown Server. Thanks for you help!!!
Installation Error
hi, i am trying to install OPM on Windows 2003 server, after decompressing the installation file i am getting the following error message. setup does not proceed. Looks like an installshield error. has any one else faced this? how did you resolve? Changing default monitors added during discovery
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to change what monitors are added by default when new devices are added. For instance, we wish to add for every server in our environment the free and used disk space in GB's monitors. Currently we have to add them after they are discovered. Is there a way to make them a default monitor?

Maybe I can't use my eyes but I don't find a delete-button or similar to delete an obsolet solution! there's only an edit-button and the options to manage the topics, but no delete?! can somebody point me to this?
Server Access for 7 Technicians
I am currently testing the Service Desk v.5 product and need to know the best way to set it up on our server. I set it up on the default port of 8080 on one of the servers, and we may have up to 7 technicians in our group. But Windows Server O/S only allows 2 people to login remotely to the server.
