Mandatory Fields getting bypassed
I have a custom field and my workstations field that are marked as mandatory and that the user can view and set, but they can submit a ticket without selecting any items. Am I missing something?
Getting eventlog from localhost (W2K3)
I'm testing Eventlog Analyzer at home (serveral W2k(3) systems, no domain, all in the same workgroup) I have the following problem: The analyzer collects events from all the systems, except the local system. Alerts for monitor groups
I am not able to receive alerts based on monitor group configuration only. As I don't want to receive alerts by individual monitors I am unable to get the monitor groups to send any alerts. Although the health and availability goes red in the HOME screen for the monitor group, the alerts that I have configured for them are not coming through. There are no alerts configured for the individual monitors. Any ideas? Thanks Peter
AD plugin not licensed
Hi, I have this issue. I haven't purchase license for AD plugin. When OpManager rediscovers my DCs it moves them to Domain Controllers container. This is annoying as I have to move it back to Servers container. Furthermore, when the DC is moved all history information for that server is deleted. Is there anyway to avoid this behavior? Incorrect Reports
I am currently running the Firewall Analyzer evaluation version. I am wondering about the event summary report page. It appears the totals for the different graphs on the report do not match. For example in the event summary graph the event total is reported as 231500 events. In the top hosts graph the event total is reported as 90830. Why the difference? do these two totals track different statistics?

How to export / import data from older version into newer
We have just installed ServiceDesk Plus v 5.5.0 Build no. 5506 onto a windows 2000 server. We need to transfer all the servicedesk data from our XP machine running ServiceDesk Plus v 5.5.0 Build no. 5501. We've tried doing a restore of the backup but it says something about it being incompatible. How can we export the data from build 5501 into build 5506 ?
Netflow Version 9 error message and NAT support
I have recently upgraded my free version of NFA to 5.5 and then enabled Netflow Version 9 on my router. I am now getting a message every so often in NFA: V9 flows of unknown template are received from [x.x.x.x] Are there any additional changes I need to make to the router? I also read that Netflow 9 has support for NAT (amongst other things such as MPLS). customize canned ticket fields
I was able before to modify a text file within SDP to change the "title" field to have a different title. I found the tip someplace within the discussion forums, but I don't remember what it was. I lost my customized file when I applied the last patch.

Backup - tftp download or show run?
I am testing DeviceExpert, seems to be working great and straightforward. Only hitch so far is that when I view the config for my PIX 501, the VPN passwords are all ******. ie. isakmp key ******** address isakmp key ******** address isakmp key ******** address Rather than: isakmp key Password1 address isakmp key Passw0rd2 address isakmp key HiImapassword address etc. I assume this is because it is taking the output of 'show run' rather than writing tftp. Hi, is it safe to delete (or move) the contents of AdventNet/ME/AppManagerXY/Patch ? (I'm doing regular backups of the AppManager directory, especially before changing monitor settings, and I was hoping to save some compression time and disk space and keep the downtime as small as possible)
Cisco IOS syslogs
Hi, I am currently running the evaluation copy of the firewall Analyzer and straight up I can tell it will suit my organisations requirements but for one thing - Does it support Cisco IOS syslogs for routers running the advanced security feature-set? I have not seen a positive reply to this question on the forums. With my eval I am not seeing the host discovered or even entries in the unsupported logs received area. I have confirmed that syslogs are making it to the physical server using kiwisyslog.

The reason why I ask is because we want to import from our WatchGuard system for logs going back six months, however someone imported a file twice which duplicated that days data, I understand you have to be careful when importing files but can you role back the data or could you tell me how to reset the whole database and start over

Disk Monitor SNMP or WMI
I would like to be able to define a monitor with proper thresholds in the admin section and apply that to all servers. The problem I have is I setup a threshold but the A drive and CDrom drive keep reporting 0mb free and kicking off an alert. Is there a way to exclude these devices on a global level or do I have to setup a resource monitor on each server individually. Your help is appreciated. -Tony

Auto refreshing Firewall Analyzer
We are using FA Build 4020 on a Windows 2003 Server for our Netscreen25 device. Is there a way to keep my session open (web client) without timing out? I would have liked to keep Firewall Analyzer open, and just have it auto refresh, (ideally in a pre-configured interval). Would be nice to see the Live reports auto refresh by itself. This would make us pro-active in assessing the current state of our network usage. However, the web client times out and we have to login again. Maybe you can add this

Problem adding interface to a device
Hi, When I go to a server device and I click on rediscovery button from interface, the interface is detected. I check the box for the interface and I click on the add button and I receive a messager for successully added the interface to the device and the page is refresh and the interface is not displayed. The server is a Windows 2003. When I choose a server in the Domain Controller with the AD monitor, I can't discover and add interface. What is wrong ? Thanks, Steve

I have the Cisco ASA 5510 firewall. It's in the list when I try to manually add it, but after I have forwarded the syslog and SNMP to DeviceExpert, it does not auto-discover the firewall and it doesn't support syslog detection. It also does not appear in the "firewalls" category. Is this firewall compatible with your program?

Hi, I have created an Alert profile to receive emails whenever firewall analyzer receives a syslog entry that contains login attempt. The rule I have created is: Match all of the following - The message contains login attempt The new rule does not seem to work. Any idea what could be the problem. F5 Big-IP Products
Any possibility of supporting the F5 Big-IP load balancing products? They use wierd SNMP stuff, OIDs like .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.2.10.2.3.1.1 which include 3375 (I think SNMP only usually allows single byte, and this would be an integer). I have tried adding this to OpManager but it always fails. I can get some basic snmp info from the device, but 99% of its stuff can't be accessed due the way F5 has implemented snmp. Do I need to install Agent before I can use App Manager?
helo ... i was told that OpManager does not require any agents and be able to discover the network by itself whereby Application Manager need to install an agent on the managed server before it can monitor the services (running in the managed server). Isnt that OpManager is superior in the sense that it faciliatate the installation and ease the load on the server?

Start-up and firebird problems
I have 2 separate problems. First, and this has been true since the previous version of NetOps, after running for some time, the FireBird server unexpectedly crashes. I am now running the latest NetOps and have applied the latest patch, and I'm running this on a Windows XP machine that is patched as well. Second, after one of these FireBird crashes occurred, my NetOps now takes up to 10 minutes to load. Once it is up it runs fine, but it takes so long I originally thought it was frozen. The point

Hi, I have been testing Firewall Log Analyzer for the last 2 weeks. I would like to suggest something to the setting of alerts. Right now alert can be set only as <"Severity/Attack/etc .."> <"is/isnt/etc.."><string> that means I have to give some entry as string..But it would be nice if a condition like ANY can be set.
