Windows hosts sends syslog to EventLogAnalyzer
Hello Would it be possible to send from a windows host (with a syslog production program) a produced syslog to the EventLogAnalyzer; instead of logging on from the EventLogAnalyzer to a Windows host? For security reasons we would like do such log file distribution. Thanks for your feedback.
Eventlog Analyzer Alerts and Severities
Hi, I have searched but not found on the forum. We are monitoring cisco routers with Eventlog Analyzer and would like to be alerted on ALL severities. Now it seems that we can only define an alert profile with one severity per profile. Is there a way to define a profile for all severities (so in fact for all syslog messages)? Linux Install
Can the Linux linkAsService.sh please be changed for future releases to also add the start for the netflowanalyzer service when on runlevel 3. This is where I always run. It only adds it for runlevel 5.

Linking User assets to Workstations.
Our company recently purchased this software and I am having a certain issue. When an asset is created, we are allowed to attach it to a user, workstation, or group. I have been attaching things such as PC's, keyboards, mouse, speakers, monitors all to the user. Cache hit ratio Oracle database
Hi, I'm monitoring Oracle 9.x and enabled performance polling. I do get all the information in the monitor, but when generating a Cache hit ratio report, the appmanager claims to have no data available at all. The Buffer hit ratio report works fine. What coulde be wrong? Thanks, Robin

Total Bandwidth reporting & archiving
Looking at the bandwidth reports in the Live Demo, I don't see any way to get Total Bandwidth per month (in GBytes) and monthly in/out rates with a 95th percentile calculation (Gbps). Having these statistics helps in a very real way to know that the ISP is correctly calculating/billing bandwidth useage. It would be nice to have the end of month stats archived for 12 or 24 months so that trends can be viewed as well. How can I go about generating such a report, or is the functionality not there? I

Hi, I�m trying to set up alerts for a file system on an AIX monitor. When viewing an AIX server�s monitor / Disk Utilization : I click on the �Threshold� for a particular file system, root for example, to set up a threshold and alert. Then when using the �Apply to selected monitors� tick box I see the �Available Monitors� list to choose from. My question is; is there a way to filter or sort the very long list presented? Monitoring Cisco Router - Device Status not changing
Howdy, We are just about done with our evaluation of OpManager and I'd like to say it's impressed us. Nice piece of software and does a great job. We currently have a small problem though. We have a series of Cisco 1760 routers that we are monitoring, during the initial interface discovery process it detected several interfaces that are of course 'virtual' and not being used. It then flagged these as down at the next update which was correct. I cleared the alarms, and then removed those interfaces,

Hi, There are 4 software classifications - Managed, Excluded, Prohibited and Unidentified for Software management. Is there anyway to add more software classification to the above list. I was curious if anyone found documentation or details on Service Desks solution for tracking Problems after multiple incidents are identified as related. Do they recommend creating a problem ticket in Service desk and linking all incidents to it or do they recommend use of their other product like Issue Manager to take incidents to the next level of Problem management? We are giving Help Desk Support from 08 am to 02 am (18 hours/day). While we setting the operational hours (08am to 02am). It showing an error message "Please select Start and End times such that, End time greater than start time". It is possible to set the Operational Hours from 08am to 02am ?

I have configured under "Audit Setting" for weekly scanning at 12pm for all workstations. May I know if this Audit Scanning scans for all workstations for changes in softwares, new workstations or removed workstations? No data being graphed
brand new install, downloaded build 4022. Set up PIX according to directions, but no data is showing up. Packet count received is 15,000 and is rising, and if I shut down FWA4 and turn on a normal syslog app, I see all traps coming in for tcp connections and teardowns, so I know the data is coming into port 514. I tried the http://localhost:8500/fw/genreport.do and http://localhost:8500/fw routine as suggested in the troubleshooting, still graphs are blank and data is showing 0.0 Server Diagnostics
SMTP "mail from" needs <>
Hi, Our ISP requires email addresses (specifically 'mail from') to be in angled brackets and it appears that SC+ does not use these brackets when communicating with the SMTP server. Is there a way this can easily be changed by us ? Here is an example of what we would need from asn SMTP point-of-view: 220 ********************************* helo blah.mydomain.com 250 smtp1.bethere.co.uk mail from: <helpdesk@mydomain.com> 250 Ok If mail from: helpdesk@mydomain.com is used we get a 501 Bad address syntax.
Search solutions by author - Modeated solutions
Hi I'd like to be able to search solutions by Author if possible. This would allow us to review posts by particular technicians. Ultimately a method of moderating solutions would be very desirable. i.e. new solutions posted by technicians are automatically flagged for review by a nominated moderator. Analyzer on Centos 4/RHEL4 Linux not starting
Hi all! I tried to install the trial version on Centos 4 (Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 Clone) but it doesn't work. When I start it by run.sh it says: Failed to start the server. Cisco IOS firewall support
It seems a vast oversight that FWA does not support the massively deployed Cisco IOS router embedded firewall. These are found in a huge number of small and medium sized companies, especially the 800 series with integrated modems for DSL, Cable. The latest versions of IOS firewall are now supporting Layer 7 IDS functions making them very popular (but sadly have poor interface and reporting). Have adventnet made any roadmap plans to include the IOS firewall syslogs? Thanks in advance.
Individual HDD usage monitoring
Hi, I have a client who is interested in using OpManager to manage some servers and firewalls. One of his requirements is that he can see (and receive notifications for) the utilization of individual HDDs within his server. Does OpManager support this or does it only display total HDD utilization. He requires this feature so he can be notified when a single disk in a server is nearly full. Also, he has a couple of cheap firewalls running VPNs between sites. I don't believe these support SNMP. Is

Hi, I have a thermometer in one of our servers whom the all minute records in an archive the temperature of the CPD. This thermometer does not have a MIB . Extiste some form to collect the information recorded in the archive and create a threshold activating alarms as is made with memory, cpu, etc? Two Problems
I recently purchased OpManager and am still setting it up, but I noticed I'm having two problems. First, I have a Email Notification Profile that I want to delete. If I click on the Delete icon I get a Notification Deleted Successfully message and the profile is removed. However, if I leave the Notifications page and come back the Email Notification Profile I just deleted is back again. My second problem is with switch monitoring. I'm getting critical alerts on switches because ports are going down.
New to OpManager
How would I use this program to monitor possible network issues like loops and bad switches? Can it be set to not notify if a port is not being used on a switch? Thanks for the help and response

Email all replies?
Is it possible to email all replies to a designated person without having to manually enter the email address each time? As a manager, I'd like to know about all traffic on a ticket (from the submitter and the technician) as it occurs without having to go to the site, pull up the ticket, expand the conversation and read the replies there. is it possible?

Request the ability to add new fields to requester, inventory, etc forms that can be set to be viewable based on security group membership. Then info can be put in by technicians that requesters can't see. Thanks Greg P
Requester not receiving email when ticket is updated
When I update a ticket via email response, the response gets appended to the ticket, but the requester never receives an email stating their ticket has been updated. When I update a ticket via the web, the response gets appended to the ticket, and the requester DOES receives an email stating their ticket has been updated. How can I get SD+ to email the requester when I update the ticket via email?
