OpManager MSP SSL
I recently installed MSP onto a public facing server and the install appeared to go very well. I assigned the default port (443) to be used for SSL on the central server. When I attempt to install a probe at a clients I cannot use port 443 as they use SBS 2003 based machines an port 443 is already in use by OWA, RWW, etc. So I need to assign another port. I did this on the probe machine but the probe will not register back at the central server. I assume that the ports need to be identical at both

Trial Version - number of devices
Is there a limit on the number of devices one can monitor in the trial version. I can monitor our internal firewall without a problem, but not the two remote firewalls that are connected via a VPN. They are not detected. Is there a way to manually add firewalls. Damian
Java Runtime monitor not working
Good day, We are trying to get the Java Runtime monitor working, with no success. We are running App Manager v7.2.0.0 on RH Linux. We've added the jmx options to the JVM startup scripts as instructed. We've tried to monitor some JVM on JDK 1.5.0_04 and 1.5.0_07 without success. Those JVM runs on Solaris Sparc. The monitor is created, but then there is no data on the graphs. The "View Thread Dump" button is working. The "Last polled at" only says "-". Is anyone got this working? Thanks for your help!

Application monitoring problems
For each IP, adventnet defines a linux monitor. We have multiple application servers on one linux server. So why is adventnet adding for each intance (ip) a seperate monitor for the server ? Autodiscovery also doesn't work for server wich have multiple ip's bound to it. Last post no one did a reply. My company has a corporate license that just expired. We had lots of problems with adventnet. Since last release most of them solved, except this issue. Support is terrible as I've posted to the forum
can not log in
Recently I have been having a problem with logging on to my firewall analyzer. If I restart the computer I can log back in for a while but it goes away again after hour or so. Please help. Thanks

How do you change the display name of a switch port?
I have a switch that is reporting all its ports as "Ethernet Interface" this becomes cumbersome when attempting to identify specific ports when mapping. Is there a way to change the display name of an individual switch port?
opmanager and servicedesk error
Hi, I registered ServiceDesk in Opmanager as addon succesfully, I then added an asset in servicedesk with name "test1" and a server in opmanager with name "test1", but when in Opmanager I try to use servicedesk tab to see fields of "test1" I get: " Unable to fetch Asset Details from ServiceDeskPlus. Check whether the device is added in ServiceDeskPlus Check whether the ServiceDeskPlus Server is running " But ServiceDesk is running. What is the correct way to associate items between both applications?
problem in SD+ 6 sub category and Item
When I put sub-category and item not checked (the user can't be seen the combo box), I have a javascript error when an user would create a new request. And it's impossible to create a request. The javascript error message is join in this topic. Thanks for your help
Replies/Resolutions do not allow for input in Firefox...
I have been having issues recently with Firefox 2.0.0.1, where if I am adding resolution to a request or trying to reply, at some point throughout the day while my browser has been open all day, the text boxes do not allow me to enter text & will not until I close all instances of the browser & re-open. On replies, it also fails to insert the request details/replies....so when that happens, I KNOW I will not be able to reply to the requester until I kill my browser. Has anyone else had this type
email - non technicians
Is it possible to have a ticket email to a group of people that are not technicians? I would like to have the ability to enter a security request on the ServiceDesk and have it mail the information to non-technicians that also have to deal with the request. They would be users on the account, but not technicians for the SD+.

Hi all, when I look bandwidth values per application (for example for HTTP i have 261.01 MB - picture per_protocol.JPG) and then i click on application to see IP addresses (for HTTP i have bandwidth 102.19 MB - picture per_http.jpg) the compared values are not the same. FAILURE :No response received from workstation. Probably the workstation might be switched off or does not exist. For one specific machine we are trying to scan we continuously get this error. The machine is on, and working. I am logged into it and running the scan from the machine itself. The Windows Firewall is off, antispyware programs are off. Antivirus is off. Custom Ports
I am new to Device Expert and just evaluating it right now to see if it is a good fit. One question I had is if this product has the option to configure a custom port for telnet or SSH? I do not see it in the GUI, but was hoping there was another way to do it?
Sum of traffic
Guys, I'm evaluating NetFlow and I have one question that does not seem to difficult but I can't find an answer. How can I get the sum of the traffic in addition to in and out in a report? So the sum of the in and out bandwidth. This to see the utilization of a link without the need to add the two myself. Thanks!

Problem importing users from Active Directory
A few weeks ago, my collegue reported a problem in SD+: we were unable to import users from AD. This problem was reported via mail, and my collegue had contact with someone from SD+ via phone and mail. The SD+ support rep also took over the screen with a Webex session. A test OU and a test user was made. The SD+ support rep was unable to solve the problem during the Webex session. Finally we sent a log file for further analysis to SD+. Custom Monitor Error
Great Product - love it! I was setting up Custom Monitors and in the process of adding and removing ones I messed up on I started getting an "Error!" message in the main window whenever I click on "Custom Monitors" What can I do to fix this issue and be able to use custom monitors? Thanks Dan
Active Directory monitor incomplete?
According to AD monitor, I don't have an Infrastructure Master, RID Master, Domain Naming Master, a Schema Master or any LDAP activity at all. there is also a lot of other information showing N/A. This has been running about 8 hours so far....if you fix the functionality i'll probably purchase the add-on, it looks very useful.
Changes in SysDescription in Device snapshot
Hi all, I've the following situation here. The firmware version of several devices appear in the Device Snapshot in the Sys Desc: field. I recently performed an upgrade of firmware versions of 16 devices. Though becoming a little essential for our maintenance the change of the firmware version isn't displayed anywhere. I'm reluctant to delete/re-add the device since the last time I did something like that I lost the history for that device. I'm also a little afraid to do a Rediscovery of the device

We run OpManager MSP edition and we have a client who is having issues with internet/VPN connections dropping. It isn't enough to result in a probe down error, but they lose enough packets that their remote access and site-to-site VPN connections drop. Hi Has anyone ever changed the IP address of the: -central server -the probes in OpManager MSP. I know everthing specifiedy by FQDN but I have to move the central OpManager MSP server onto another subnet and was wondering if this would break anything.
