Interface down alerts only on some ports of a switch?
Is there any way to configure the interface down alert on a port by port basis for a network switch?
I would like to continue to manage all the ports for things like traffic, errors, etc but don't really care if the interface goes down. Many of the ports I am talking to are connected to laptops or desktops. If the user turns their machine off for the night, I don't want an alert but I still want to know if they have a lot of errors. Can this be done? Thanks.
