Install NFA 7 on Win 2008 with existing MYSQL
I have a few questions before installing: Platform is Win 2008 x64. I'm assuming the program is 32 bit but any issues running it in 32 bit mode on x64? Since my server has IIS built in, is there any way to have NFA use that instead of the apache it installs by default? Not a big deal, just like to have everything in one place. Any special procedures for version 7 to use an existing MySQL install or is it similar to the previous versions?

service monitor alarms
since opmanager 7.1 there are no alarms generated when a service monitor is down. e.g.: " Service Monitors 1/3 monitors down." (ftp down) but on the same device (server) "Currently there are no open Alarms." and the same on alarm list and no notification via email profile.

Hi With an environment of Cisco 79xx VOIP phones linked to other devices via the phones inbuilt network port, the software alerts a new device has been found. The software can link the phone being connected to a specific switch and port, however the 2nd device such as the laptop or desktop connected to the phone is unavailable and can only list which switches it has traversed. Can this information be displayed, otherwise the software is not much use in this regard, or are we doing something wrong.

reply/forward not recorded at SD
Hi, recently we upgrade from SD 6 to SD 7 and found below issues. when we reply to a request, it will not be recorded/listed in the SD for future reference. But the mail was delivered to users. my observation was, when i choose to reply from the user communication, this reply will be assigned to that communication ticket no. and will not be listed. for eg : User reported an incident. Tasks - is it possible to hide closed tasks?
In "My View" over on the "My Tasks" panel (right side) I see my lists of tasks which include closed tasks. Closed tasks have a check mark and show line through the text. It would be nice if there was an option to hide closed tasks on this panel. Does anyone have any ideas? We don't really want to delete them. Thanks Jerry
Alert update not activated
I had an event setup on an alert that would email me when an event became critical. As it was emailing me every minute, I added another event (email another user) and saved the configuration to several other monitors as well. However, the monitor only emailed me...the other user never got any emails. I would've expected them to begin getting the emails. Suggestions?

I can see kazaa on the application tab for an interface, but I cannot figure out how to corelate that to a source and destination address. Can this be done?

Hi, We assign each other tasks from requests that we own. Currently there doesn't seem to be a way to insert the RequestLink inside the Technician notification. A nice feature would be to add this key to the selectable fields when developing the Technician notification template. Thanks Jerry

Is there any way to just query all groups, categories and sub categories? I don't want to know what tickets were assigned to them, I just want a list of them like Category 1 Sub 1 Sub 2 Category 2 Sub 1 Sub 2 Group a Group b etc... I'm just looking for a list of the assignable categories and sub cats. I can't seem to find any sort of report that will give me just that info and it would make the clean up job I need to do on our installed help desk app MUCH easier thanks in advance

Hi, Just downloaded and tried it out, it is really nice to keep all the passwords safe in one place and allow only the people who need access to specific ones, with the history when the passwords were accessed. Only problem that we have is that our Active Directory users are in Arabic. So when the users are imported they are all gibrish, also they cannot log in either. Even if Active Directory SSO is activated. Is there any plan to make application accept data other than english for user names ?

DE incorrectly indicates start/run configs are in sync
I'm testing build 5100 with a few Cisco routers. On one router (a Cisco 1841) I know for certain that the startup and running configurations are not in sync, and can verify this on the router itself, however DE indicates that the startup and running device configurations are in sync. In fact, when viewing the current version of the running config in DE, it shows the startup config rather than the current running config. configuring opmanager to handle cisco ips snmp traps
Hi, I am new to opmanager. i am having problems in configuring to work w Cisco IPS. My intention is to send snmp traps from cisco IPS to opmanager. i have sniffed and verified that the opmanager's server is receiving the traps. i have configured opmanager to send email when traps are received from this host(ips), however, i am not receiving any emails. i have tested the email, no problems in receiving test emails. i had read, and it seems that i need import MIB files in to Opmanager in order to work.
OpManager Run System Command issue

Wrong log format detection ( ISA and Squid )
Hi, I just installed FWA 5 on linux ES5. It's very interesting. But I found the problem as follows: I imported ISA2006 log file ( Proxy mode only ) into FWA. FWA can process it. Relationship between Incidents and Problems/Known Errors
We have been using the professional version of SDP and are considering buying the enterprise version. With regards to the use of ITIL, what is the relationship between Requests (Incidents) and Problems/known errors in SDP Enterprise. As it stands, when an incident cannot be resolved in a reasonable timescale, we manually change it to a Problem/Known Error. Is there any automatic escalation process in SDP Enterprise?
21.664 pieChart*.png files lying around in /tmp
I have noticed really many pieChart*.png lying around in /tmp on the server hosting the NetFlow Analyzer. At the time there are 21.664 files, and it incremented every time a user visits the Network Snapshot page "/netflow/jspui/NetworkSnapShot.jsp" It seems like there is a bug that doesn't delete them when they are expired. troubles with Exchange 2007 server monitoring
Hello, We have troubles with monitoring Exchange 2007 server. Can you please explain, how it works ? Which protocols are OpManager used ? SNMP ? How should we configure SNMP ? SNMP service was installed later than exchange 2007. We have the latest build (7102) of OpManager. At the moment we don't see any values on Exchange Dashboard. All values are N/A. How to fix that ? Auto-fill Recipients and Subject Line in Notifications
When sending a Notification from a Problem or Change Request it would be useful if the recipient list was automatically populated from the Requesters who have Incidents attached to the Problem or Change Request. It would also be useful for the Subject Line to take the title of the Problem or Change Request.

How do I backup NFA 7?
I have purchased NFA7 and am using it currently. I am wondering how I backup the system? I ran the 'BackupDB.bat' under the 'C:\AdventNet\ME\NetFlow\troubleshooting' folder, but that produces a very HUGE backup. I just want the configuration information, not the actual data. If my server dies, loss of the old data is acceptable, I just don't want to have to reconfigure all of those routers and users and Google map points and so on... How do I just backup the configuration information? :?:
