I would like to install ServiceDesk on Ubuntu Server (command line only, no GUI). Is this possible? If so how?

Purchase Order Changes
Hi Guys, I'm impressed with some of the new functionality of the PO Module, but there is a few things I'd like to have changed & added. I'm running SDP Version : 7.0.0 Build 7017 *When emailing a PO to Owner / Vendor, can this be changed to select either PDF or HTML format. We prefer PDF over HTML and saves double handling when we now have to convert them to PDF. It used to email PDF in a previous version. * When sending PO to Owner or Vendor, PO's do not show Part # - Saves us getting phone calls
Delete home/profile folders and mailbox
Hi, I've tried setting the delete policy to delete the home folder and terminal services profile folder when deleting users. This works fine as long as the folders are empty. Is there a setting I might have missed that allows me to delete these folders and any subfolders they might have? Also, the delete user function does not seem to delete the mailbox. Same question, is there a setting for this? Now I have a mailbox that I'm unable to do anything with. Best regards, GB

Hi all 1st post :) We have a few HP switches in our environment. I have added them into OpManager and all is well. My problem is, if I put a port into "Disable" status, I want OpManager to reflect this, and NOT to state that the switchport is "Down". Right now it is not reflecting this state. Device Template for storage devices
I'm looking for a device template for storage devices, specifically San's. Vendor IBM, Dell or HP. I can't create one because there is no category for storage devices. Can I create a category? Is there a recent update for the resident device templates with OpManager? Thanks
Requester view of Dept's tickets overwritten
We are using build 7011. I have checked the box on the requester detail to indicate "User can view all requests for their Dept." This works correctly until an AD import is performed. The value is then overwritten and the check box cleared. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or has this been addressed in a subsequent hotfix?

Rebadged Lexmark Printer (Dell 1710N)
HI Everyone Trying to get OpManager to recognise a Rebadged Lexmark Printer which is used by Dell 1700 series. Comes up when I try and add a new device as the ODI already being used by the Lexmark device. Changing body of Clear Message
Hi Apologies if this has been covered a lot but did a search and couldn't see it on the forums I can change the content of the message body in an alarm message by using the variables supplied and free text - which is great What I want to know is can I change the message body of the Clear message At present its "Data Files Size is now back to normal, valuses..." I would like to edit this to a simpler message which more matches the set alarms messages. Is this possible?

Switch Port Mapper - Multiple Server/Router IPs?
I have both PCs and IP phones plugged into the switches. However, resolution comes from 2 sources/VLANs (VLANx/10.x.x.x for PCs & VLANxx/192.x.x.x for IP phones). Plugging each server/router IP into the field allows for the devices (PC or phones) associated with that subnet to propagate the IP/DNS. I'd like to see ALL the port info for both subnets in a single window. Is there a delimiter that can be used to give both server/router IPs simultaneously or another method to accomplish this?

I need a report that lets me analyse the purchases made over a period (annual) so that I can report back on budget usage and likely future expenditure. The supplied Purchase reports give me the total cost associated with a PO but not the item descriptions, but I need a query that gives all the data (PO, vendor, item, quantity, cost per item, cost code, date of purchase). Question about new Enterprise edition features
I am currently looking at the trial version of the Enterprise edition, seeing what new features are available. I am trying to figure out how the new Problem and Change modules interact with the rest of the system. In particular, I am confused about how Requests and Problems are different. It appears they use the same categories and many of the same information fields on the new request/problem forms. How exactly do they differ from each other?

Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to get Opmanager to report on devices that does not have SNMP set up properly, for example the community string is wrong, or the device does not allow SNMP access from opmanager. Opmanager should not report the actual problem, just that there is one. Also if WMI is not accessible due to logon failures etc. If there are 100s of devices, you sometimes find yourself needing interface graphs, disk usage etc. but the device has some config problem that you did
Problems to start up the program
Hi there! We are trying to start up the OpManager v6 and a message appears telling us that "some of the tables are corrupted. repairDB and then ReInitialize the program". Our problem is that this is not working anyways. The Repair script is not fixing anything... And to be honest, I don�t wanna restore the DB because we haven�t made a backup since months... :( So, Could you please give me another solution?? And do u know why is this happening? PMP Linux change FQDN to localhost (127.0.0.1)
Hi, I'm testing PMP and it looks very promising. Still I got a security issue. I'll describe my setup. I have dedicated server (running linux) in a data center which is right in the middle of the internet When PMP is installed it uses the server's FQDN and running on port 7272. So with some dig work (like portscanning) it's possible to "see" this app. I'm also running Apache as webserver. Until now I got some other sites running "behind" the webserver using (ssl) proxy in Apache and as extra security

Gaps in data
We are testing the application on a VM platform. After copying the harware server over to VM ware we now get intermittant gaps in data (data charts normally then stops for x minutes, then starts back up). It doesn't appear to be network related, we do not run anti virus and there are no backups to the drive it was copied to. What are possible casues of missing data? Screenshot of issue attached

I have install a new 4.2 version to another server and perform a database backup from the old test environment server 4.0. I have performed a restore database from 4.0 to 4.2, upon starting the service it stop and ADSelfService Plus web application no longer starts, what gives?

SDP javaw.exe @75-90%, SDP very slow
Hello, as I wrote in another thread I tried to setup our production environment and had to stop the rollout. I installed SDP 7.0 and the javaw.exe is always @ 75%+. Web access is slow and would be unacceptable slow when 500+ users would try to use SDP. I installed 7020 but that doesnt made a difference. Can no longer import image in 'Self-Service Portal Settings'
Hi. This is specifically for the custom image for the session, not the logon screen image. I successfully imported different images before, but now it doesn't work anymore. This happened after importing an animated gif which was larger than the stated maximum. Did I break the poor thing? steven
Request Template with Resolution
I have created a request template with a resolution completed already. When a technician logs a request then the resolution is visible in the help desk request. When a normal user logs a request using the template they can see the request part but the resolution does not appear. Is there any way to edit the request template so that when a normal user logs a request the the solution is already there? Thanks, JP

Event Log Rules
We had created a new Event Log rule (for the Application Log) with just Event Type = Error checked off, and Alert with Severity = Critical. This was almost the same as the predefined "Any Application Failure" which has Event Type = Error and Warning checked off. The new event log rule seemed to be working, but now it is not, and we cannot figure out why. We're getting plenty of Application log events logged with type Error, and users that have the "Any Application Failure" rule in their notification
New Request opens old request!! Please help!!
