Application manager causes errors on monitored servers
Hi,
Some of the Windows servers I'm monitoring with Application Manager, have error messages in the event viewer that result from the WMI query. This makes the event viewer log get bigger all the time. Some of our system administrators claim that this also interferes with the application running on the servers. When I unmanaged the monitor, the problem indeed stopped (both the messages stopped appearing on the event viewer, and the crashing of the application stopped.
The appearing of these error messages do not interfere with my ability to monitor the servers. Also, I followed your instructions regarding WMI.
The messages I'm receiving. On Windows 2000: (I'm using the user oracle).
Access to performance data was denied to oracle as attempted from C:\WINNT\System32\WBEM\WinMgmt.exe
Messages I'm getting on Windows 2003:
The Collect Procedure for the "PerfOS" service in DLL "C:\WINNT\system32\perfos.dll" generated an exception or returned an invalid status. Performance data returned by counter DLL will not be returned in Perf Data Block. Exception or status code returned is data DWORD 0.
Please advise,
Thanks,
Adi.
