Regular DataBase Corruption
Hi all - We are all too regularly getting the following error when we logon to OpManager: SQLException while preparing the statement with id : 18 Cause : No operations allowed after connection closed. Connection was closed due to the following exception: ** BEGIN NESTED EXCEPTION ** java.sql.SQLException MESSAGE: Communication link failure: java.net.SocketException, underlying: A stop/restart of OpManager resolves the problem only to the point that logon then notifies us "Ops, a few tables got corrupted..."
Not able to see CPU & Memory utilization in Opmanger

How do I get the total availability for current month?
This is probably very simple, but I cannot figure it out. I need to know what our total availability is of our network devices for the current month. I don't care about per device, just the average. If from the main page, I click on the top Network tab, it's all blue which means not monitored. I have a lot of switches being monitored, so how do I have these included in the Network tab? Is there a Networks meta-group? Thanks, -nik.
Pos. SD+ 7.5 issue: Edit Req. Site resets Group allocation
Yet another possible issue with 7.5 when editing an request that has not been assigned to a Site but HAS been assigned a Group. Would appreciate confirming this is a bug and not something we're doing wrong. Simply, assigning a Site removes the Group assignment althoguh strangely doesn't remove the Technician. Surely the Group has nothing to do with the Site with Departments the only dependency?
After upgrade to 7.5 I can only log in as my AD user
Since upgrading our test Servicedesk box to 7.5 I can only log in using the AD passthru. This means that when I go to the Servicedesk URL I am logged in automatically as my AD domain user (the one I am logged in to my PC with), but if I log out and try to log in as any other account (local or AD) I get an 'Invalid username or password' message. Can you reproduce this issue please? Thank you.
restore MS-SQL 2005 database to MYSQL
I am using SD+ 7015 on a Windows 2003 server with MS-SQL 2005. I took a backup of SD+ with backupdata.bat (successful) When restoring this backup on another server on which I installed SD+ with MYSQL (for some testing and I don't want to use MS-SQL) I get a message stating I should change the value of max_allowed_packet. Should You Marry Someone Your Age or Someone Much Younger?
This is a personal decision, but women age faster than men, and most men date girls 1, maybe 2 years younger than them while in college. A common approach seems to be, step 1: graduate. Step 2: marry college sweet heart. Step 3: 20 years later, divorce for a younger, more virile spouse model. Shouldn't you just mess around for 20 more years and then find your wife? Seems like a better financial decision. Or am I just way too shallow?
Corrupt User Interface
I have a user whose profile appears to be corrupt. When he logs in some of the icons are x'ed out and the fonts and links are appearing incorrectly. This occurs on other machines with the same credentials. When I log into a different account on the same machine the interface displays correctly. I have checked DB consistency and restarted all services. I've deleted cached from user's machine info and still am having same issues. Any ideaa?
Unable to upgrade from 7022 to 7500
Hi, Since version 6 we have not had one upgrade that has worked for us without restoring data or spending to much time trying to get the upgrade working.........readingg seems i am not the only one. Re-send request for approval
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had approver lose the approval e-mail. Not an issue, accept when you have more than one approver ServiceDesk basis the Approved/Not Approved status on the last block of approvals, so if you send a new approval request to one of them you've got to send it to all of them. Therefore what I'm wondering is is there a way to re-send the original approval e-mails rather than generating new ones? I'm running 7009.

Is there any way of sorting requests by more than one column, as in by date and priority, or dept and user name, as in more than one option etc. Thanks

For reasons too long to go into we have specific requirements for certain user attributes. Can we set up AdManager so that create user will always set: CN="username" SAMAccountName="username" UPN="username" username may contain "@" If username is longer than CN can hold then CN will be truncated If username is longer than SAMAccountName can hold then UPN will be truncated :?:

Hi, I'm facing one problem in my OC4J 10.1.3 setup. When I send any message to my request queue through my application the message is being sent as default persistence message. As a result mesasges get accumulated in response queue. Is there any property in OC4J server which we can set to send the message as non persistent???

Hello, Can someone please tell me why the unlock users function on the main dashboard page doesnt update when you click update? i.e it says 4 users are locked, I goto view the users, select one & process the unlock. I then go back to the dashboard & do a refresh & get the exact same result of 4 locked users.
AD Group name Limit
Hi I am trying to create around 250 AD security groups using a CSV import. The problem I am having is that the group name gets shortened to 20 Characters after the import. Is this expected or am I doing something wrong? I believe that the MS limit is 256 Characters? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brent

I have many request that are coming via telephone, our operator types the contact name and the account information appears but there is no way to verify if this account have a valid contract or the services included on it, is a very good feature the way you can check the services to include in the contract could be better if the user could be able to see in that way the services included, we have a repair center and the person in charge needs to verify what kind of services he can provide over all
SD+ 7.5 - Custom priorities cannot be edited
Since upgrading to SD+ 7.5 we cannot edit the names of our customer priorities. The standard 'Low', 'Normal' and 'High' priories edit fine but not the ones we created. When the edit button is clicked nothing happens. Can this be confirmed as a bug please?
Unable to update technician within IE7
Running XP SP3; IE7; SDP7.5 When we click on Save in the Technician screen after updating the groups, nothing happens. We do the same thing in Firefox 3.0 and it saves the update?

Can you create a custom catagory?
I find that the default categories are too restrictive, can you add a custom category? We have some items to monitor that do not fit into the existing categories, ie desktop, server, URL etc, can we add a custom category say PLC or SCADA etc to better classify our network.

Hi, How do I customize the snapshot view? I created a new categroy for metered PDU's and now I would like to have the matching graphs next to in in the snapshot view. But it comes up with the same Gauges then a UPS - and they do not exist on the PDU's. Cheers Andre
can only log on to opmanager fron the server
I have opmanager running on a 2003 server and i can use the web interface to access opmanager fine. but when i try to log on using my xp desktop it just says page cannot be displayed. this worked before. I'm not sure if there is a serice that needs to be running or what is going on. any help would be appreciated.
moving OpManager front end to a new server
Hi, We're in the process of decommissioning a server that OpManager's front end is currently running on. The MSSQL database that it connects to will stay on the same separate server as it is presently. I've installed OpManager with the same version/build on our new server but when I try to enter the host name and login details of the existing MSSQL DB it says it already exists; so presumably the wizard is trying to create a new database from scratch. Multple SLA management
Dear all, We would like to use several SLA at the same time using some common servers or business objects. Here is an example to better understand the need 3 servers : A , B , C 3 SLA (=3 customers) SLA 1 covers servers A & B SLA 2 covers servers A & C SLA 3 covers servers B & C Currently each time we add a SLA and select servers (or monitor groups) these are disabled (not appearing) when we create a second SLA. No bandwidth data for one firewall
Hi, I am logging two firewalls with the firewall analyzer. The first one is showing all bandwidth and traffic information. However, the 2nd one is not showing any bandwidth information. It just says Traffic In 0.0% The firewall that is working correctly is the Watchguard X1250 and the one that is not working correctly is Watchguard X700. I would appreciate it if you know of any solution to this problem. Thank you.
Process monitoring
I�ve noticed in monitoring a process, the process should be running first on the server. Is it possible to monitor a process which is not currently running on the server? I would like the app manager to alert me via email if the process is running. Example, process A is not running on the server (and should not be running), if it runs, the app manager would generate an alert for me that process A is running. Thank you for your response.

Problems since upgrading to 7.5 from 7.0.2.0
Please see attached for the problems I've experienced this morning since upgrading to 7.5 yesterday. I tried to uninstall because it was getting annoying but apparently I can't do this. Problems include an issue when creating a custom report with the available columns window becoming increasingly smaller when I make selections, and also getting errors when I simply try and save a resolution. Version is 7.5.0 build 7500
