Remote Control question in ServiceDesk Plus
Hi there, We are currently setting up ServiceDesk Plus for deployment to the whole organization. Before we do so, I have one question that I would like an answer to. Here goes: Is it possible to have the remote control function PROMPTING the user to allow the technician the remote control operation? Currently the technicians gets the user desktop without ANY kind of approvel/acceptance from the user, and not even an info box stating that a technician is connected. This poses a problem in our organization.
7500 upgrade
Dear all I was upgrading from build 7022 to 7500 servicedesk, when the installation stated it failed, it then did the uninstall of the product and now I can't start the old servicedesk at all! Thanks David

Workstation Scan Function - How does it Work?
We are suspicious of the workstation scan that is performed on a schedule through SD Plus because we have people reporting slow downs intermittently throughout the day. We've eliminated other variables as possibilities (SMS and McAfee) but continue to see unexplainable workstation slow downs. I have it set to scan for new workstations daily and full scan weekly. When it scans daily could it be affecting workstation speed? How is the scan performed?
Why can a SDsiteAdmin see all software?
Hi, When I logon as a SDsiteAdmin, I can see also "All Software"! Even if there are now assets from that Site scanned. I think, if you use the Multi Site model, All Software should be "not visable" for SDsiteAdminstrators but the software linked on that Site. Or am I wrong? Ferry Pranger The Netherlands
Import mouse from csv file
When trying to import mouse assets, the Import Wizard reported that all the records have been imported. However I found that some of the items are not listed under Mouse, but rather under Resources. But where is Resources? It seems to fall under Asset, yet I don't see any product type Resources. Any help would be appreciated.
Requester - additional fields - upload
Hi, I added maximum (12 ) additional text fields to REQUESTER and then tried to upload data from a .csv file. Unfortunately, there are only first 6 that are uploaded, the other 6 remain empty. If I fill them manually record by record - it is saved. Is there any limit for the number of additional fields ? Thank you for your help, Hanna.
Request for subaccount
Hi ! We make massive use of subacconts. BUT ! We miss the possibility to make a request directly on the subaccount. In the dialog - new request - we cant choose the subaccount - but only the parent. This means that we need to change to subaccount afterwards, by editing the request. Is this an error, or just a missing / forgotten feature ? Kind regards Carsten Thessen
CSV Contents for Modify Users/Group Attributes
Hello, We need to add about 600 (of about 5000) user accounts to an existing group, and as there is no "simple" way to select the users I would like to simply point AD Manager to a CSV file to identify the accounts. Adding a user to the group works fine if I Enter a name Search, and pick the users, but with 600+ accounts I think the only was forward is to select by CSV. So the question is, "what fields do I need to specify in the CSV to identify the accounts"? Thanks Tony Durrant

Administrator account no longer works
I seem to have overwritten the builtin administrator account when i imported AD the next time i went to log on it now logs me on as the domain administrator and not the builtin one, this wouldnt be a problem but i did not set any admin things up for the domain admin account. Is there a way to either remove the domain admin account so the builtin one is still there or maybe elivate the domain admin to the builtin one?
Assigning a Category
Hi, Can a category be assigned to a group created within SD+? We don't want to assign a category to a technician as that person may be away on holiday which could then impact on our SLAs. Regards Stef

Evaluating the software i created a configuration to display a message box. after i verified that it worked, i deleted the configuration. now the clients still get the message box every time they log on in the morning. how do i remove that???

I am trying to increase the amount of RAM that OpManager uses and I used this script to increase the size from 200 to 1000 but I do not notice any increase in the amount of RAM that OpManager uses. I assumed that this function is similar to setting MS SQL to use a fixed amount of memory, is this indeed what it is used for? I'm running OpManager on Redhat AS 3.

MSSQL Data Files Size showing in KB
The Counter \General: Data File Size is showing in KB which is causing issues with the MIN/MAX/AVG figures. The attached image is just one of our database's, with all database's on all servers doing exactly the same thing. Is there a way to change the size from KB to MB or GB? It would be great if OpManager could detect the size of the file and represent the size in the most appropriate way. Raw data should be saved one year at least!
I think the raw data of opmanager should be kept for one year at least, if I want to drill down to history data before 7 days, I can not find any valuable lead! Many network monitor systems all have this feature, why opmanager not??? By other side, the raw data can be used to audit! So, I think this feature should be realized in opmanager! No Data Available Problem
I am using the Firewall Analyzer v5.0 trial edition for a possible purchase. I am running FWA on CentOS 5.x with a Cisco ASA 5510. I installed it on 6/18/09, and all reports showed up just fine for the first day. For the past two days, the FWA service and syslog is still running, but the FWA is showing "No Data Available" for both 6/19 and 6/20. in the ../server/default/archive/hot folder, the raw logs are showing up for both 6/19 and 6/20, but no data is showing in the FWA web console. business rule and notification under a group for unpicked request....
A question in regard to setting a business rule so it will place specific requests in a group and then under the group notification for unpicked request, set that for example for 5 min. The problem is that a request will come under that group and will sit in the queue under that group for more than five min and no notification will be send to those support rep mentioned under the group. Canceling the syncronization schedules
Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to cancel the syncronization schedule for a domain import of resources. I can view it via the Admin -> Active Directory -> View Syncronization Schedules, howerver have not found a way to cancel/re-create a schedule as it seems to retained the previous import information.
