Historical alarm log
Hi! Due to internal audit purposes of my company, I need to generate a report of all alarm events occured in a time window. Does OpManager keep an historical record of all alarms generated? How can I view this historical log? Any help will be welcome! Thnks a lot! Rodrigo.
Sysname's OID mapped to Device Display Name
Greetings, I would like to configure the display name field at the device properties using the sysname's OID, is it possible? may I use the sysname's OID into the display name field? Which is the way to do it? Thanks and regards.
Installation Conflicts
Question: We have several Apache servers in our environment, will installing this on one of our servers cause conflicts with the apache servers in any way ???
Configuration Report Assigning Devices to Multiple Profiles
Does OpMan provide a means of producing a configuration report that would list all devices, profiles, etc.? We'd like a means of tracking configuration changes, and comparing configuration reports might allow us to note changes between points in time. Also, is there a way to assign a device to multiple notification profiles? I thought we could before, but it seems as if you have to do one at a time. Thanks, Andrew Williams

OpManager services shutdown if SMSserver is closed.
Have been evaluating OpManager 6 for a few days and initially the OpManager services would auto start at boot. Now they won't and if started manually the SMS Server is started also. If I exit the SMS Server (no need for this) the OpManager services will shutdown also. What am I missing? Thanks, Bill
Opmanger services stopping daily
Have been evaluating OpManager 6 for a week or so - what do I need to do to keep the services "OpManager" and "ManageEngineOpManagerApache" running - they shutdown daily. Running OpManager and ServiceDesk Plus on a Windows XP computer. The logged on user to this computer is one of our network administrators that runs as a domain user. No problem with ServiceDesk but Opmanager will not stay running. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bill

Problem with SNMP Agent on Linux
I have a Linux client, which I am trying to monitor from a Windows Server 2003 machine. I have installed the AdventNet SNMP agent for Linux onto the client, and the CPU Utilization monitor is working fine. Any new on when SSH v2 will be supported in opmanager? Will it be in the next update? At least a year ago you said this was a high priority and as i am sure you can understand SSH v1 and telnet are not acceptable within my company due to the security issues concerning them. I am attempting to trial OpManager as a network monitoring tool for our enterprise, though I get this error: WEBSERVER PORT 81 IS OCCUPIED. CHANGE THE PORT BY EXCECUTING BIN/CHANGEWEBSERVER SCRIPT. I have attempted many different ports. I have rebilt the box completely with a fresh/clean install. New Feature
It would be nice to if the subnets were standardized throughout the application. For instance IP Address Manager knows what subnets are on my network but I have to add each one individually for Network Scan.

Hi I have a serious problem here after applying the patch 6013 the opmanager did not start again , I tried to uninstall the patch but the problem still , when I tried to start the server using the batch file in bin directory it gives me (Invalid License file) so how can I solve this problem regards
Detailed report of availability
Hello, I saw in an old post (2004 oct 13), that the detailed report of availability of each device contained a list of period where the device was up and down. But with the version we are testing, the detailed report only contained a percentage of those period. Is it possible to get, this list of period with the actual version, or will it be reimplemented in future release. Our build version : 6013. Thank You.
Binding Opmanager to one IP
I have a new multi-homed server running IIS, Kerio Mailserver and hopefully OpManager, I have 3 Public ips, with IIS bound to one, Kerio to another, but I cant fet OpManager to bind to one ip address. I have tried changing apache's config to "Listen x.x.x.x:80" but i get HTTP 400 errors. Ideas?
Binding Opmanager to one IP
I am installing a new server that will be running multiple web services on multiple ip addresses, IIS will be on one ip, Opmanager another, and our web interface for mail on another. Can you add a device that is not reachable via ping or SNMP?
Hi all, I am trying to monitor systems that we have installed at customer locations. These systems are reachable only via SSH. I see that OpManager cang et CPU, memory, disk etc via SSH. However when I try and add a new deivce to be monitored it says the device cannot be added. Thei support says that because it is not reachable via ICMP ping or SNMP you cannot add the device. Any other ideas? I have been able to add devices by using an internal IP that can be pinged then changing hte IP afterwards
Display Name from Switch?
I have many Cisco 3548 switches that I am adding to OPManager and they monitor just fine. My question is, when the are discovered the display name and the Description of the port are the same, even though I have custom descriptions on the switch itself. ie: both are Fastethernet0/1 What I would like is for OPManager to pull the description from the switches (ie: MyMailServer) and use that as the Display Name. Unable to clear / delete event
I have set up application events to display in OpManager.Everything is displaying fine but I am unable to clear or delete an event. I have cleared all other events that have come in. The event is COM+ related and is passed in the URL when I attempt to clear but nothing happens the page loads blank and the event does not clear / delete. here is the string being passed : http://localhost/fault/AlarmActions.do?methodCall=alarmProperties&operation=Clear&entity=ersfilenetweb01_COM+ any ideas ? Hi all, I'm testing OpManager and it seems to be a satisfying product. But in the availability reports section most of our customers want to see en explanation near the outage specifying whether the outage is provider or not provider responsible. MSP OPManager Probe Bandwith usage
I tried using the search but couldn't find the answer to the one and only question I have (at the moment that is): Is the probe on a remote site permanently in connection with the central server, or is there a general polling interval, and if it's connected what is the approx. bandwith usage for the sent data?
Logging stopped over weekend
We are running OpManager and trying to figure out a problem. So when we were looking at the history of the device, it stops collecting data for Jan 21 for some reason: Jan-22-07 0:24 1.0 Jan-22-07 0:09 1.0 Jan-20-07 23:54 2.0 Jan-20-07 23:39 1.0 Didn't see any blackout dates or settings, what did I miss? Delete all Alerts
I am evaluating and I would like to know if there is a way to mass delete alerts. We often have "rogue" devices on the network, and I would like to be notified. I would like to be able to delete them quickly though. Right now we left it up and running over the Christmas break and the IP address management tool move a ton of ports from transient to avail. So now I have over 30000 alerts. It will take a while to delete those 100 at a time.

still unable to monitor pix 515 interfaces
I demo'd this software a year ago and stopped using it because I was unable to get it to consistently monitor my pix interfaces. My company decided to go with AppManager so I grudgingly decided to give this software another try. I added my network devices and once again, unable to monitor pix interfaces. Contact shuts down ftp communication
I have installed OpUtils demo and I set up my subnets to scan. That night, one of our critical ftp servers stopped accepting connections. After looking into the problem, it was found that the OpUtils server was continually trying to contact this machine. Once the OpUtils machine was shut down, the ftp server was accessible again. What would cause this to happen? Is there a way to start OpUtils back up so that it does not incapacitate my ftp server? Thanks for any help. The software is great so far,

Hello, Running Opmanager V6 6012. I am looking for a management report that can be scheduled to run daily that would list all of the alarm events for the last x hours. Unable to Maintain Remote Web Client Session
I can log into the OpManager Web Client locally and experience no browsing problems. However when I log in remotely, Web Client displays the Overview page as expected and as soon as I click any links, I am bumped back to the login page. I have tried this from different remote machines and experience the same problem. Any ideas?

MIB parsing
Hi all, I added new MIBS in OpManager. I constated that I need to load them at least once because in the other case I do not have MIB parsing when I check trap alarms. At first, I copied the MIBS files directly in mib dir but problem is same when I use the "Upload" button in "MIB Browser" tools. Thank you, Vincent.
