Changing Switch interface display name OID association

I found another post on this subject, but it's old and obviously not being monitored. Figured I'd submit one of my own.

The interface display name for my catalyst switches is associated with ifDescription which yields results like this:

Index Description Speed (Mbps) Status Display Name
10101 GigabitEthernet1/0/1 1000 GigabitEtherne...
10102 GigabitEthernet1/0/2 1000 GigabitEtherne...

In my switches, I've taken the time to add an interface description that identifies the device attached to the interface. I did some digging and the OID associated with this information is ifAlias. I'd like to tweak OpManager so the display name displays the description from the ifAlias OID. Is this possible? If not, can you add a feature request to allow this? The end result would then look something like this:

Index Description Speed (Mbps) Status Display Name
10101 GigabitEthernet1/0/1 1000 www01-eth0
10102 GigabitEthernet1/0/2 1000 app01-eth0
