Customer login views and access
Hi there.
I understand the following two points have been resolved in the upcoming release, but can someone confirm this for me please?
1: When customers log in to the central server as the customer name, they should see only their servers, views and probes. But currently when you log in as the customer name or even the probe name, in both cases the customer can see all the google probe locations for everyone else. I have even added a new user, ticked the option to be a read only user, with only the selected business view, but this doesn't seem to apply to the probe map where users can still see other companies probes.
2: They can also in the customer view dashboard, click on "add new customer" and it lets them, we would like them to only be able to see the probes which are associated to their company name in the google map section, and also we don't want to have the "add customer" link at the bottom of the "customer view" home page.
This is quite a big deal for us, as obviously we don't want to go live with customers being able to change anything at all, or able to see the probes in the map for all our customers, or add lots of unneccessary customer logons to the system.
We hope this is going to be fixed in the new version, because we are buying the software tomorrow or monday, and want to be able to go live for our customers in two weeks time, with the ability for them to log in for their own status views, without inadvertently letting them see what other customers we support.
I have two further questions if you don't mind.
The first is, it would be nice if there's a way to achieve this, but when customers log in, is there a way of removing the "support" tab for those users logging in? Obviously we are buying the MSP edition which will be rebranded with our logo, so if possible we'd prefer the customers to not see all the opmanager support details etc.
The second is, when a new server or device is added to OpManager, by default it adds a few resource monitors such as cpu, or memory utilization etc, but they don't have the default settings for those monitors as set in the probe under resource monitors.
Can you please tell me if there is a file I can edit which tells OpManager what resources to add by default to new servers, DC's routers etc, and the values? I would like to change the defaults as it is time consuming to have to reset them all.
Regards
Simon
