Thanx already. - Encrypted passwords in configurationfile's In de configurationfile's at our Opmanager server i can find plain passwords in different (configuration)file's. Removing the notification profiles in OpManager MSP Edition

New installation of Opmanager with (external) MS-SQL databas
After my new installation of Opmanager with a (external) MS-SQL database i have the following error in my webinterface. Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server. I tried the repairdb.bat buth then i get: myisamchk: error: 22 when opening MyISAM-table '..\mysql\data\OpManagerDB\*.MYI' myisamchk: error: 22 when opening MyISAM-table '..\mysql\data\OpManagerDB\*.MYI' Press any key to continue . . . After that i rebooted the server
Couple of Questions
I just recently installed OPManager but I'm having trouble getting it to launch. I'm getting the error "Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." I did some digging around on the support site and found an article saying to chmod the httpd file and modify the httpd.conf file, but after doing that I'm still coming up empty. I'm running Fedora Core 5. I already have an apache & mysql server running on that box, could this be the problem? If so how would I go
Problems Accessing after 24 hours
This is a strange issue... after about 24 hours (sometimes more or less) we can't access the web interface. On the local machine (RHEL4) I can telnet to the local interface and reach port 80 no problem.... and this is by connecting remotely across the same ethernet port via SSH.... I'm trying to find out if this is a server issue or if there are logs in OpManager that I can check to see if it's possibly software related? Also, I know how to start OpManager but what's the command line to shut it down?

RX TX discards and errors
Hi all, I am running OPManager 6015 Whatever I try, no way to get RX or TX discards and errors, neither the "error" panel on the snapshot page. I have only availability and response time. Cannot view 'Objects' all of a sudden
Hi all, We've been trialing OpManager for about a month now and are looking forward to purchasing it, however we've just rang into a problem and I'm not sure how to clear it; From the Home page all looks normal, however when you go into Infrastructure View and then click on a item such as a Server, Router, etc - a error appears stating "Unable to find the object: server1.domain" (obviously changed the server name). This is now happening for all items. Any ideas or suggestions?
User permissions
Can someone explain please what do the following monitored services require as far as permission needed for WMI? Exchange 2003? Active Directory Just typical WMI items such as CPU speed/Memory/Disk Space? thanks in advance.
Integrated Security for SQL Server backend
Is Integrated Security possible for SQL Server back ends? If not, I would like to request support for it in a future release. We find it to be much easier to administer. The JDBC driver from Microsoft supports it, but I'm not sure if we leave the user and password fields blank in the database configuration if it will still work. Thanks, Colin
XHTML compliant interface
As a web development shop we have several tools on our browser at all times to instrument it to detect XHTML non-complaint pages. It appears OpManager and the web site is throwing a lot of alarms off. A quick scan through to make it more compliant in the next release would be appreciated! Cheers, Colin
Feature Request: Send Feedback Link
We have just started to evaluate OpManager. As a new user we are able to look at it and see a number of small changes that would make it more usable. Instead of saving them for a big email (or more likely, forgetting about them) it would be nice to have a "Send your Feedback" link on every page. The link idea comes from an agile project management package we use, TargetProcess, where they implement a similar feature. Redline/Alvarion/Trango Wireless Support?
Just got OpManager running - love it so far! Any idea how to add support for Redline AN-50 wireless radios, Alvarion wireless radios, and Trango 900 and FOX 5.8 wireless equipment? They all have their own MIB files but have no idea how to add support into the software for them? Is it possible to have AdventNet (even for a fee) do this for us and release it in an upcoming build? network monitor not updating

IBM AIX disk problem
Would like to know why disk utilization is always zero wherein if we command the /usr/bin/df -k | awk '{x += $2} { y += $3 } { z += $4 } END { print x,y,z }' in telnet, it generates an output. I've attached a picture to show the problem. Thanks
Moving OpManger and MYSQL database to new server procedures
Greetings, I would like a procedure for migrating OpManager and the MYSQL DB to a new server. Presently, I have OpManager configured on a high end desktop. All databases are on the root drive (C:\Program Files\Adventnet), default location. My new (real) server (mirrored) has a partitioned (Data) drive that i would like to migrate\move the database to and maintain at that location. Can you assist? Thanks
Mysql consumes 100% of CPU in Op5.6

hi, i m using trial version of opmanager i like the product very much..., the prob. right now i m facing is is when i get to switch snapshot page and click on interface to see interface information it gives me error --unable to fetch interface detail-- i have rediscover all interface still the prob exists. rest of the switches works well....and if i want o monitor bri interface fro backup isdn line how can i do it to get status that is is up or down without effecting it...thanks in advanced

Sorting Alarms
When I sort the alarms on the events (So I get the same errors on different servers) the list will be rebuild with all customers. When I select the customer I want, the list falls back to the first listing. Is there an sollution for this problem? Thanks

SNMP versus Task Manager
How does their checking of CPU utilization differ? When I try to check the cpu via SNMP it shows almost 100% percent of CPU utilization, however when I logged-in in the server and check the task manager it only shows 50-60% CPU usage. What is more accurate? THanks

Hi, we just purchased the exchange monitor add-on, and there are a few things I'd like to see: 1. IS size should take into account both EDB and STM files, since EDB files are only part of the picture. 2. It would be nice to have a view (and graph) of each individual database size (EDB+STM) instead of a summed total of all databases. 3. Is it possible to move the installation of OpManager MSP to another server? I installed MSP on a test server. Now I am moving the system into production, I would like to migrate the settings for MSP from the test server to the production server. Is there a way to do this?

Load a node via database
Is it possible for us to load data via SQL? For example, if we have 100 different ip to monitor and want to include specific servers to be monitored. We can just execute an insert statement to the table. Thanks
MSP Ed - Removing and reinstalling probe
I have a problem with our main probe. Can I remove and reinstall the probe without losing the devices and data? Will it remain in the database on our Central Server?
OpManager MSP - Receive SNMP Traps from unmonitored devices.
In some cases, at our customer sites, we would like to install an OpManager MSP probe, where we may be monitoring 10 devices, but there will be additional devices that are sending SNMP traps to the probe. I want to be able to forward these traps as alerts to the OpManager central server in our NOC. Is this possible? In my lab tests this did not work. Is there a way to create a custom category for device type? I have devices that do not fit the default categories and OpManager puts them in the desktop category.
pca_trap.mib - PC Anywhere MIB
Has anyone managed to get the pca_trap.mib working. Whenever i add it to opmanager and upload it works fine but then the mib browser falls over saying error line 444. Its obviously a poorly written MIB but can anyone suggest a debug?
truncated name in server map MSP 6003
Hi, We're using MSP 6003. In Customer View I see the complete name of our servers, for instance: abecol01.cehave.local.chvlbbprobe In most other maps the name is truncated, for instance in the server map in details view i can only see: abecol01.cehav... Reports Customization
2 Problems: 1. we want to make all the reports look the same (the customer reports vs custom reports vs etc) are all formatted differently (different borders, logos, text, etc). How can we go about homogenizing the format? 2. We need to adjust the sizes of the reports so they print out on a standard 8.5"x11" piece of paper! I attempted to create a custom monitor to monitor our HP Proliant DL380 physical drive status using: iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.compaq.cpqDriveArray.cpqDaComponent.cpqDaPhyDrv.cpqDaPhyDrvTable.cpqDaPhyDrvEntry.cpqDaPhyDrvStatus OID=.1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5.1.1.6 Testing the monitor after creation fails, yet works in the MIB browser.
