Opmanager MSP monitor custom device traffic
Hello, I have a device on a specific network that is not pingable but I can check for specific (citrix) traffic on a specific port via telnet. HOw Can I add it to the monitored devices? If I try to import it inserting the ip with a manual device add, this device doesn't come to the added devices. SO if I was able to have this device in the listed devices I'm able,I think, to add a custom monitor on a specific port. The problem is how to import it due to the fact is not pingable. when any [selected..] Exchange Monitors are DOWN not working
hi, I have a threshold on "Remote queue length" part of the "SMTP Monitors". On a working "Notification Profile" that emails (which works) I have "Exchange Monitors are DOWN not working" ticked and "Remote queue length" ticked. Today a marketeer decided to mailshot 2000 people a 5mb file. "Remote queue length" went over threshold but we got no email. Now the config line says "DOWN". Should I get emails when threshold are broken or just when service is down? If yes it is not working or I am missing
Event Log Rules - Add Rule
I added a new Event Log Rule for: Source: IAS Category: None Event ID: 1 Type: Information User: N/A Severity as: Attention I applied the rule to our IAS server and generated the event, but OpManager did not report or alert when the Event was generated. What did I do wrong?
Monitor % Free Disk Space
Can you monitor the %age of free disk space for each drive? I am currently monitoring Disk free space in MB, but would like to get a warning when free disk space hits around 4%. Thanks!

starting probe problem
hi i have install one opmanager probe and it was stop and i am trying to start the probe using startdms command but after certain services started, it wan't go beyond and for that i am sending attachment file so plz helped me sothat i can start the probe and we can monitor the network.
Device discovered as domain controller cannot be accessed
When a device is detected as a domain controller, you cannot access the device in OpManager. When you click on the device you get an error of "Active Directory Monitoring Add On Feature is not licensed." You can't even access it to change the type or delete it. Using build 7023 for Windows.
Status icon in Business Snapshot remains in Crtical mode
Hello, While playing with the SNMP traps, I deliberately activated an alarm to trigger a trap just to see how OpManager reacted. While the result was expected, I noticed that the red cross icon in the Business Snapshot was not cleared (Pls see attached screenshot). I have verified that all alarms are cleared and that the fault that I deliberately created was rectified. Is anyone able to tell me what else must I do or set, to have the status icon refreshed automatically ?
Create a custom telnet /ssh monitor
I have several network devices that are not SNMP friendly, however they usually have Telnet or SSH access available. Is there a way to monitor a device using telnet /ssh commands and convert the outback back into OpManager ? CPU and MEMORY use would be a good example of something to poll.
Display graphs on custom Web Page.
The ability to create custom web pages and display graphs required. I would like a 24hr graph for a device showing UpTime,CPU Usage, Memory Usage, Hard Disk Usage. It would need to be able to auto login for speed of use. It would be also handy as our monitor uses web pages for its screen saver so displays all the device details every 10 seconds.
Monitor SNMP values for hardware (ie harddisks)
I need to be able to monitor specific SNMP OID's to check the condition of hardware. ie the defualt value is 2 if device is ok and need an alert if this ever changes.

OpManager 7 -- Scheduled Reports
When scheduling reports, I get send PDF's with reports that state 'No Data Available'. THe only report I have tried that has data is the server availability report. Others, such as CPU usage, Least Free Space all come back blank.

swap space util on solaris
can you please tell me how to view / edit the command that opmanager uses to monitor swap space on solaris servers as the command that exists does not work. linux uses the free command which works but solaris does not have this utility so would need to use vmstat.
Devices added to google map do not show on map
For some reason when I place any device under the router category on the google map it does not show up when I click add. When I add a server to it they all show. Any ideas?

Unable to fetch Interface Details
I have one router that the FA0/0 will not show up in the Interface list. It does show up in the Routers\Map but when I click on it I get "Unable to fetch Interface Details" I have deleted the device and waited 14 hours and re added it same issue. I see all the other interfaces on this router and my other routers. Any ideas?
UPS Monitoring
Opmanager has detected my networked ups's but it doesnt show extended battery information - i've set a working login name and password up in the software which i can log into the ups with but it still doesnt get the stats. Any ideas ?
Permissions to monitor windows servers
We are using OpManager to monitor our Windows 2003 Servers. Right now we are using credentials, which belongs to Domain Admins group and everything is working ok. We would like to use an account that does not belong to Domain Admins group, but what kind of permissions should we give to this account?
IBM DS4500 drive monitoring

Eventlog in Windows server
Hi, I have configured Event Log Rule for one of Windows server. WMI and SNMP is working properly to this server from OpManager. I have configured to monitor ANY event log but unfortunately no new alarms are discovered in OpManager... any ideas why? regards Slawek
Event Log events with a dollar sign in them
I've noticed that OpManager doesn't email the complete event if it contains a dollar sign. The event details are truncated. I assume this is because of the scripting language being used. Is there anyway to fix this? I'd really like to be able to see the entire event detail in OpManager.
MSSQL application
Hi, Op-Manager version 6 Build 6016. I have a SQL 2005 in an CLUSTER environment. I have follow the same way to add the SQL virtual server as Exchange 2003 virtual server. Based on SNMP querys I am able to monitor the disk space on the virtual disks (mounted from a SUN) and setup thresholds for them. All other normal services and monitors using SNMP are fine. I have added the MSSQL monitor feature to this machine and setup a domain user (the same that is running the SQL services) for access the WMI.

OpManager Redundancy
Our enterprise is spread out across a broad geographical area and as we develop our reliance on OpManager we have been discussing the potential for maintaining a secondary, COOP, server that is configured identically to our primary and available immediately with minimal configuration should our primary site go down. Does anyone have experience/recommendations for such an implementation? Thanks.

CPU Utilization
Hi, I have 4 Dell Poweredge 2850 with red hat 3. Opmanger is monitoring their CPU Utilization, but most of the time the current value is the same. We used the command "top b n 1 | grep -i 'CPU*'". I notice if I used n=2 or 3, the second or third "command" shows up a real value. I attached the example. Why does this happen? Are there any way to solve this? I would like to add up USED CPu and System CPU. Are there any way to do this? Thanks

No Interface Data for ASA and PIX
I am having issues with interface data showing up on both an ASA and PIX firewall device. SNMP is configured correctly as well as the CLI Access. Any assistance would be helpful. We are running Build 7024 with MYSql local install. Thanks, Joe

discovering NIC on servers
Hi all, did you ever have problem with adding NIC in OpManager? I have server, I have been discovered interfaces - it finds one, then I click "Add interface", message "interface added successfuly" but after that there is no NIC in interfaces :( Any idea why?
Unable to run DatabaseMigration.bat

Problem running OPManager MSP on a Vmware machine
Hello Support: I am in an evaluation phase and I am having some difficulties running OPManager MSP Central (Latest version) on a VMWare machine (Windows 2003 server standard built inside an ESX 3.5 server). The installation went well without any errors. However, when I try to launch the application I get the following error: Webserver port # is occupied. Please stop the apache and its dependent processes and then start the server. I get this error regardless of the port # I use during installation
Network Monitor email Notification
i already have setup this tool but, im having some troubles with this feature. i want it to send me an email everytime a device go down, i mean individually, but what it does it send email for everyone of the device im monitoring, also it send email of the Helaty Status. how do you se this tool to send just the one i need?
UDP Scan

Cannot Find Devices after succesful Add
Hi, I have been having the same problem as jblack in forum issue 286911. Ours is a brand new install of Ops Manager 7024 All servers, printers switches and routers have added fine, but we have four temperature/humidity probes scattered around. These are sensorprobe2's from AKCP (http://www.AKCP.com). I have added them and they show as sucessfully added, but when I go to search by IP address they will not show up. Instead I receive the "Sorry your search returned no results. Click here to add a device."
Can't Update Build 6011 with 7.0 Migration Pack
I am unable to use the 7.0 Migration Pack for Build 6010 +. I downloaded the Migration Pack from the Downloads section on this web site, disabled the OP Manager Services, ran the backup batch file, then tried running the Update Utility. When I selected the 7.0 Migration Pack File, it says: "The file you have specified is not compatable with this product." I am running Build 6011 of OP Manager on Windows Server 2003. It is on a VM Ware Box. Any sugguestions on what I can do to get this to work?

MSSQL Monitors - The Monitor did not respond...
I've enabled the MSSQL Monitors for my SQL server but I don't see the graphs for the monitors that I've enabled. When I tried to test the monitor, the following message appeared: The Monitor did not respond to the test request My resource monitors for the same server is working fine. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks.
