OpManager MSP: Communication between Central & Probe-Som
Hello there!
Upon going through the forum topics (& blog too!) i found out that the Probe always PUSHES the data to the Central (i.e. one-way initiation, always first to do so).
1. On what factors does this happen... Alarms? or is it a continuous process?
2. Can the PUSH from Probe to Central be controlled e.g. something like polling interval, periodicity etc? Or is it ONLY on an 'on-demand' basis?
3. When does the Central initiate the comm process?
4. How is the availability of the Probe checked?
5. Where is the Probe-collected data stored? The Central-Probe architecture seems very good (low bandwidth consumption etc) but could you please elaborate on the role of the Central?
6. Does the Central-Probe arch. emulate or at least come close to the concept of CMDB (ITIL) "federation" Or the ETL (extract, transform, load) concept?
7. Being an existing customer of ME Netflow & Firewall Analyzers, i would like to know if they could be integrated together with OpManager MSP in future?
