How Do I Apply the Same Monitors and Notification Profiles to Multiple Devices?
I'm stuck. I had a device (Windows 2003 server) have an alert fire for disk utilization, but the notification didn't get sent. I know it was working before, but for some reason it didn't send the notification email. I went in and tried to figure it out and decided it would be best if I just re-applied all of the notifications to all of our devices again--just in case. Now I'm stuck. OpManager Nokia Checkpoint Monitoring
Hello everyone First post on the forums so........ hello! I am trialing Opmanager 9 to see if we like the tool for SNMP monitoring of our firewalls. We want to use it for basic monitoring of octive connection count, cpu, disk space, memory etc. I have uploaded the checkpoint mib file onto OpManager and I am able to get stats back on CPU and disk space. However the stats being returned for memory and connection count are crazy. The returned value for connection count is 4.28E49672849. I get

[Urgent] Process up / down False Alarm.
We are having the problem on monitoring server’s process. Installation information: OPM 9101, Win 2008 R2 64 bit, DB: MSSQL 2008. Situation: We are monitoring the Process of the server. But, OPM show it is down (and it goes up later itself). But, process was working all the time in the server. It was false alarm over and over. I changed the ping.properties’s timeout to 4. still no luck. Monitoring process shows down and up (false alarm) in OpManager. Is there any way to solve the process up/down

Hi everyone, I have an issue setting up email notifications. The problem is it seems like I have to do same work twice: We monitor all our servers, workstations and devices using OpManager. The problem is I go through setting up each server on what specific services and monitors we need to keep an eye on. Then I have to do same thing when setting up a notification profile? Alarms in OpManager
I'd like the ability to e-mail the alarm directly out of the alarm view of each device. So next to the "Acknowledge" and "Clear" buttons, I'd like an e-mail button that would take a scrape of the alarm so I can send it to specific technicians.
Unable to restore DB backup - opManager
I am trying to restore a backup from our opManager install to a new server. I have used the backup utility and the command line to backup our opManager database and then import to the new server. Both have failed. Server 1 (Old ) Windows 2003 x64 , opManager version 9011 Server 2 (New ) Windows 2008 R2 x64 , opManager version 9011 Error = Unable to restore data. Threshold interval VS Monitoring interval
Hi, What is the difference between Threshold interval and Monitoring interval. If i set my device monitoring interval to 5 min, and my device threshold is set to 60 min. Does it mean that OpManager will check for threshold violation at every 60 min? or every 5 min? Thanks.

VMware Monitoring - ESXi - Disk free space utalization
Hi @ all, If anyone else has the problem that the disk free space of ESXi datastores will not be displayed with the correct amount of free space, pls consider to have a look on that host with vsphere and refresh that datastore. Than the correct amount of free disk space should be monitored. Means the host itself does not send up to date data to OpManager. So it seems not be a problem on OpManager's side. Just if anybody else has this problem ;-) Regards

default username and password wont work on new install of OM
I have just downloaded opmanager and installed on winXP as user with admin rights. i cant login using the default admin username and admin as password given in the instructions.. have these been changed? if not is there any other reason why i should not be able to login? i have used all the dafault installation instructions. thanks. chris
Default monitor not working with Centos
I can poll using snmpwalk & MIB Browser the OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6, the same OID is used in our template for Linux monitoring and fails to collect data. If a new custom monitor is created using the same OID I can succesfully collect data. What am I missing, please help

Widget - Disk usage in MB
Hi.. Is it possible to have a Widget showing Disk usage in MB insted of %? The % widget could be misguiding, since we have serveres with different sizes disks...some with huge disks at arround 1TB. So the widgets with the % calculations sometimes showes serveres with under 20% free diskspace, due to the fact that there might still be around 200GB free....
Adtran dials not working

Hello, I was wondering if I can have some assistance, If I goto maps->Layer2 Topology Map and select some devices I get the message 'Unable to get the device connected information from the switch, click here to go to the snapshot page.' On other devices I find I get all the switch connection details. I have checked the SNMP Credentials, MIBs and CLI cedentials and all are ok. Hi, I cannot understand how the virtual server discovery works exactly. For example: If I add an ESX host how OPM discover the virtual servers inside it? Do I need to specify the Linux and Windows WMI credential first? What are the prerequisite to monitor the virtual servers? Do I need to install the VMWare tools? What if a virtual server is added later? What if a virtual server show "no ip address"? Thanks.

Goodday, Under Device Snapshot, there is a tool called "Browse to <device>". I click on it, it pop up a browser with http://<hostname>, but there is nothing display? Consecutive Times value under Device threshold
Hi, For Consecutive Times value under Device threshold setting, if i set it to 2: Does it mean it has to violate threshold > alarm cleared > violate threshold again... then consider 2 times? OR Violate threshold > Violation value increase (without being cleared) ... consider 2 times? Example for Disk Utilization, threshold 80%. If it violate 81% (1 time)... let say it did not get cleared... and now it went to 82%... will this generate alarm? Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to install OpManager trial into my Ubuntu 6.06, unfortunately still unsuccessful. Networks Map Display
Hi, Networks Map is an automated diagram based on the discover devices? I have 8 servers discovered with SNMP enabled. When I click on Networks Map, I only see 2 icons, grouped by their IP. There is no line/connection or whatsoever joining them, eventhough the servers are in the same network. Is this expected? Thanks.

Hi. I started here , but got nowhere when I started the prerequisites section. Then I did some Googling around and discovered that Xfree86 isn't even available in most of the top Linux distributions anymore. So, is there a definitive user guide or set of instructions on this forum (or anywhere else) for installing OpManager on Ubuntu? Thanks. steven

Is there a way to install opmanager 9 on a linux box without xfree86? My understanding is opmanager is a tomcat based web server with a mysql backend. Why is xfree86 needed? Utilising CCTV
Hi, May i know what is the practice of using CCTV? Or the difference between CCTV and Dashboard? Both CCTV and Dashboard widgets are syncrhonise, except dashboard is not auto refresh? I read that it can be grouped and cater for diferent users (network...server...etc). I created one CCTV, and it appeared in a different window. But how do we share that with others? we can just provide a permanent URL link for the CCTV? Thanks.
