Monitoring variable out of range
I have a problem that if any of my vars are not defined on a managed device, OpManager begins to poll other vars much slower (it almost stops). How can I fix such situation and send a notification?
Hardware specifications
Hi Guys, I am wondering if there is a way in Opmanager to get a Hardware/Software specification report for specific devices? This report would give me in detail, the # hard drives, RAM and processors in a specific device. I would like to do an inventory of the servers and hopefully this feature is available in Opmanager. Can't Add item to Business View
for some reason I can't add a device to a business in Java. I enter properties. select and move the device over to the right pane but when I press ok it does not show up in the view. There are 15 devices in the view but I only see four in the propities right pane.
Event Log filtering error
Hi, We have made som changes to the eventlog monitoring. If we add a rule and choses to ignore the event it works. But if we add a rule and wishes to change the status from critical to attention it does not work. Geir
How can i stop alarms for "Administratively down"
Hi, I am using free version of Opmanager from last 02 months (for testing this software). I just want to know that if I make any interface of switch �Administratively down� for specific period of time then how I can stop alarms for that interface for that specific period. Same thing i want for some devices also. And I tried that �unmanaged� option also in the device detail web page. Please tell me what that exact functionality of it. Kindly guide me. Regards Trisha

Yes yes I know, beta, but has anyone tried it? I can't get the engine to stay started. The only error I have seen was something about the setting in the services logon that allows the service to interact with the desktop. The first error I saw says that was not allowed but I can't find the group policy that allows it. So I tried turning it off and the engine still quits.
All Server Disk Usage Report
The All Servers Disk Usage Report also shows results for desktops, not just servers. I think it is reporting any device that has Free Disk Space and Used Disk Space resource monitors enabled. It would be good if there were separate reports for desktops and servers.
Opening a ServiceDesk Ticke with OpManager Premium 6.0-6003
When I try to create a Log a Ticket Notification Profile, the Exchange and SQL Application Monitor selections are not present. How can I open a ServiceDesk plus helpdesk ticket with OpManager 6.0 Premium build 6003 when one of the Exchange features is in a failure state? Thank you. -Eric.

Solutions given for router's Resource Monitor is not working
Hi, OPManager's free version is already running on my network from last 02 months (For testing purpose) and I added 18 devices in the OPManager and I am okay with all the monitors. When I entered IP address and SNMP community string in "Solarwinds" for one of my router the "CPU Utilization" and "Memory Utilization" monitors start working itself. Ok, first of all our company just purchased opmanager to monitor a total of around 250 workstations and 500 servers, plus 50 or so network devices. Netscreen 208
Hi, I have added a netscreen 208 firewall to monitor with opmanager ver 6. Opmanager is detecting the firewall device type correctly however it does not show all interfaces and vlans configured on the firewall. It only shows one interface which is connected to the internet. Create custom report on device response time via MySql
I'm running some ETL processes to pull utilization, availability and now need to get Response Time data for devices. What table and columns in OpManagerDB hold Response Time data? What Instance, Name should I be looking for? I've been trying to find in POLLEDDATA and AVAILABILITY_STATISTICS but can't seem to find it. Thanks for you help.
Exchange section - last polled value = N/A
From an earlier post: "Apparently the issue was, the hostname of this server wasn't in the host file, and OpManager was starting up using the name localhost. Server Disk Usage Report Graphs Don't Display Correctly.
I have set it up so that myself and several other members of the tech. department at our company get emailed daily with disk usage reports. Each drive on each server is reported, and a graph appears showing simply and graphically how many is being used. Its very nice. You guys did a great job with this. The Monitor did not respond to the test request
Hi folks, I have OPManager 6005 running on Windows XP and a 3 Phase Powerware 9355 UPS . I want to setup monitoring of this UPS using OPManager. Because OPManager doesn't nativly support Powerware I planned to use "custom monitors". So I loaded a program called "MIB Browser" from ireasoning software house. Event Log notifications
How do I configure Opmanager to email specific Windows Event Logs without raising an alarm on the server? I am trying to get notifications when users connect to my VPN server. Currently, I have created System rules with the RemoteAccess log IDs that I want to receive. However, the only method of notification I was able to get working, involves making the logs raise an Attention alarm. When I set the alarm to Clear or Ignore, I never get emails. Objects re-classify themselves.
I am running the latest version of OpManager, and every once in a while, a device will disappear, or get reassigned to a different catagory. For example, I have a domain controller that showed up in the desktop catagory today. Also, I have added and deleted some devices, then added them again. Once they are re-added, not all snmp monitors work that did previously. What's going on?

windows monitors
I would like to use ssh to monitor remote windows servers, but cannot figure out hot to set that up. I tried making the device type solaris and changing the hostresources.xml to reflect the commands i want to run, but it never connects to the remote server. My second attempt would be to setup my own vbs or wshell scripts, how do i go about setting those up. When i do a custom monitor? it only seems to have the properties for a mib monitor when i try a custom monitor. thank you

Having issue with IP/name change
I am experiencing an issue with a monitored system after changing the DNS name. The system in question was named sys1.domain.com. I changed the name to sys2.domain.com and moved sys1.domain.com to another server (different IP address). The reason for the move is we moved a web app which has a digital certificate to another system and needed to keep the fqdn the same so as not to break the digital certificate. I am trying to manage an M$ ISA Server (version 2004 Enterprise SP2) on my network. I have added my opmanager server to the remote management computer set. However whenever I try to access resources for monitoring, I get an error in Opmanager stating "RPC Server unavailable". I have reviewed the ISA Server's logs and see that the RPC (all interfaces) connnection is initiated, however it is immediately "killed". Windows Events are getting cut off
I have setup a couple Windows 2k3 servers in OpManager 6 and enabled event log rules to monitor many different things. When the event logs come in as an alarm they don't display the full message. I am trying to setup alarms for auditing of our accounting data and it cuts off the user that accessed the directory. Is there a character limitation in OpManager 6 that is cutting this off?

Import mib fujitsu-siemens
I have several problems using mibs in opmanager. I've compiled some fujitsu-siemens' mibs but I cannot use them in custom monitor section. After I have selected a mib, opmanager give me the message: Select an Number OID If I select an other mib, it works fine. Do you know if it's in plan to import fujitsu-siemens' mibs in opmanager on next releases? How can I know which mib is for a failure (example scsi hard-disk failure) or for other problems?
