Hello, I'm evaluating opManager (great product so far)! I'm trying now to set up a threshold for a specific switch port. I tried to parse the MIB for the 5224 which ended with an error. Anybody has an idea what is wrong with this MIB? Thanks, Gunnar

Setting Service Monitor Threshold
I notice that in Admin > Resource Monitor and selecting any type from say SNMP or WMI, there is the possibility of globally setting a threshold which is apply to all currently in use and future use of that resource monitor. How ever selecting Service Monitors - this is not possible, have to goto each device that the monitor is in use on and redefine the Service monitor threshold each time. Is this something that is planned to bring in line? I would say that when you do set a threshold from Admin
not able to see Resource monitors for Router
I have added Resource monitors for Router but it is not showing any data. But all the details work well in "solarwinds" and it shows all the "CPU Utilization" and "Memory Utilization" monitor that means my MIB is correct. And OPManager taken Interfaces Configuration details automatically when i add ip of that particular router. Please help. Regards, Trisha
MySQL startup parameters
I notice that MySQL that OpManager installs is setup to use only 8megs of memory for Key buffers and it has nothing at all for Query cache. Is there a reason that OpManager is not using any memory for query cache? Right now I am monitoring the following and I am looking at the optimal settings for MySQL and OpManager. I am given correct UserName/password but still few Resource Monitor is not working for Windows and Linux DMZ Servers. Rest of the Resource Monitors are working perfectly okay. -- Trisha

MSSQL Service Monitor down
I am monitoring a number of SQL servers successfullly however for one of the servers the MSSQL server monitor is reported as being down. On this server SNMP is running as is SQL SERVER. I can monitor availability, CPU, Memeory and Disk Utilizations but I cannot work out how to get the Service Monitor working. Has anybody got any ideas please as I am now officially stuck ? Incorrect timing values forService Monitors
-ALL- of the Service Monitors I have setup appears to be giving incorrect results. For machines on the same local network, it is reporting timing values in the order of 4500 ms. These values are invalid. o I have done a telnet from the box running OpManager to the devices in question - none take 4.5 seconds to connect (try a few ms). o Service Monitors that are not local (over to the colo down the street) are reporting response times in the neighborhood of 6700 ms. o URL Monitor is reporting times
Import mib fujitsu-siemens
I have several problems using mibs in opmanager. I've compiled some fujitsu-siemens' mibs but I cannot use them in custom monitor section. After I have selected a mib, opmanager give me the message: Select an Number OID If I select an other mib (non fujitsu-siemens), it works fine. Do you think to import fujitsu-siemens' mibs in opmanager on next releases? How can I know which mib is for hard disks's failure or for other problems? Is there a standard classification of them? Issues trying to monitor other servers on a LAN?
Hello, Ive managed to setup op manager with snmp and its polling the local machine. However when i try to get it to poll data from another server on the LAN, it just doesnt respond. I have snmp setup on all the servers, but just cant seem to get it working properly. Any ideas? Regards, Jack.

Hi, My system is directly connected in DMZ. I have Linux, Windows (Win 2000 and Win 2003) servers in DMZ. I am not able to fix "Resource Monitor" over Linux ip's and over two Windows ip's. One ip for Windows is not showing �Disk Utilization� but �CPU Utilization� and �Memory Utilization� monitors are working fine. Rest of the monitors for other ip�s are working fine. First off I would like to know if there is a way to send SMS directly to phone number instead of phone email address, and secondly is there a way to speed up the delivery time or receipt time of the message. I know this would have to do with the Cellphone carrier network and how fast the exchange server sends to the carrier.....just wondering if there is a quicker way. I know if it was sent directly to phone number it would probably be much faster..

Traffic monitor does't work for Cisco 7600 router

version 6005: RX & TX utilization 100%
Hi, My Opmanager version is 6005. I find that traffic monitor-> TX & RX utilization are 100% . The inbound/outbound traffic of 6509 switch is less than 30Mbps, and the circuit bandwidth is 100M . I think that is wrong. I test the monitor and find that the mib oid is : (.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10*8*100*1000000)/(.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.15*$DELTA_TIME) I think it will be : (.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10*8*100)/(.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.15*1000000*$DELTA_TIME) anyone can solve this ? Hi all, I got a question concening a cisco router and it�s interfaces. We got a cisco 3640 with multiple interfaces. When an interface is down espacialliy an ISDN Bri port, trouble and errors will be displayed. Can't start webserver on Centos 4.3 Server install
I'd login to post, but I'm getting the following error whenever I try to register: "You have exceeded the number of registration attempts for this session. Please try again later." I've installed Opmanager on Windows several times and have even convinced a few clients to purchase it. I thought I'd give the linux version a try as well. I just downloaded the demo 8 hours ago and still cant get it to work, I install Dapper 6.1, java and apache2. I get the same message " Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager.". I tried starting the webserver with bad results. Graphing data contained within a trap
Siemens IP phones have the ability to send call quality information (party connected to, codec, jitter, lost packets, etc) via a trap back to a management system for processing into graphs. Siemens have an application that does this but as I'm having problems getting support from Siemens I thought that I'd try and do it via OpManager. So, is there a means of processing this data (non-ASCII), storing the required information and then graphing it? Regards, Robert

Adding more detail to alarms/notifications
Currently we have some email notifications setup that contain the default fields as well as some additional ones we have added (like City, ID number, etc). What is the best way to get more specific technical information into these notifications? Eg, if a device goes down, can we have the reason appear in the notification. Is this possible, or is this something that would require us to instead look at the device logs?
availabilty reports
At the moment I'm generating availability reports on 200 devices but a separate pdf is created for each device, is it possible to create a single report detailing what went off line over a 24 hour period. Since management what a snapshot view of any overnight events

Sys Desc Not Updating
I am managing seven Adtran routers for remote offices using Opmanager 6005. The Sys Desc reflected correct information when the routers were originally set up for management. Since then we've upgraded the OS on all the devices but the Sys Desc still shows the previous version - even if I rediscover the device or update status. Why?
SNMP good in MIBBrowser but not OpManager
Hello, I have successfully used the MIB Browser to load my MIB files, connect to my device, and poll in with SNMP v2c. So the device is setup properly. Then I attempt to add the device to OpManager Release 5.5 Build 5504 and the device is not listed as SNMP compatible, but as a ping only. Why idea whats going on? Everything I've read states to verify the community string. No problems there. I've read the entire product manual, I found one error, and nothing of any help. Searches on the KB also lead
OpManager receiving traps on two different ports
The VoIP telephones I work with send SNMP data out to management apps on two different ports - port 162 for standard SNMP and 12010 for QoS related data. Applications are available from the VoIP equipment supplier that receives and processes the data but I was wondering if there was some way of configuring OpManager as an alternative to these applications? If so, how?

Display Maps on Plasma Screen
I would like to display the maps created using Business Views on a Plasma display. However, I would like to be able to do this without displaying all of the menus etc. at the same time. All I want to be able to see is the map with no other information around it. Is this possible? Regards, David
OpManager 6, scheduled reports feature
I love the new scheduled reports feature, and all the cosmetic changes and bug fixes. However, what I really would like now is the ability to run the custom reports for each of my devices on a schedule. I'd like to dump reports for a large number of my servers that consist of CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, Disk Utilization, Network traffic/utilization. You cannot do this with the current scheduled reports option. Also, is it possible to get an eval for both MSExchange and MSSQL monitoring?
