Can't start webserver on Centos 4.3 Server install
I'd login to post, but I'm getting the following error whenever I try to register: "
You have exceeded the number of registration attempts for this session. Please try again later."
I've installed Opmanager on Windows several times and have even convinced a few clients to purchase it. I thought I'd give the linux version a try as well. I just downloaded OpManager.bin and installed it on a stripped Centos 4.3 Server install using the "-console" option.
I tried starting Opmanager and got the following error: "Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager."
I dug around until I found StartWebSrv.sh and when I try to start it I get this error: "./StartWebSvr.sh: line 38: /opt/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/jre1.4.1/bin/java: No such file or directory
bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb-3.2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
"
I went to the Opmanager folder and saw "jre" but not "jre1.4.1". I made the "jre1.4.1" folder and copied the contents of "jre" into it. When I tried starting the web server again I got this error: "bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb-3.2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
I quick search of forums told me that I needed to copy the libdb-3.2.so from /lib/backup to /lib.
Now my question is this...granted you guys give this application for free if someone wants to monitor less than 20 devices, but if someone wants to monitor more than 20 devices then it costs and costs dearly. You charge for this application and it doesn't even work out of the box.
If the missing files were in a folder other than /opt/Adventnet/ME/Opmanager then I wouldn't say much, but it is your installer having the problem.
Please don't take this as a personal attack but more like constructive criticism. I love your product, I just hate it when companies charge for a product and then it takes a bunch of tweaking to get it to work.
