Please help me.... I have fallen and can't get up!!!

I just downloaded the demo 8 hours ago and still cant get it to work, I install Dapper 6.1, java and apache2. I get the same message "

Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager.".

I tried starting the webserver with bad results. "./StartWebSvr.sh: line 38: /opt/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/jre1.4.1/bin/java: No such file or directory
bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libgdbm.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" ...????

I dont have a /jre1.4.1/bin/java direcory but I do have a /jre???

What do I need to do??? Anyone ?
