monitor HP-UX servers
Hi, I am new to Opmanager, been using to monitor windows servers. But When I tried to monitor HP-UX servers it is not possible. HP-UX version is B 11.11 SNMP is also running. Could any one please help in monitoring these HP-US servers. Thanks in advance Gourish
UPS monitoring
Hello, i'm setting up OPManager 6.014 and everything was fine until i try to monitor UPS. I have both APC and SOCOMEC UPS and i wonder if it's possible to have the same snap shot for all of them. I mean i'm having the good info for APC UPS, but just have "NA" or "DATA not available" for SOCOMEC ones. just succeeded in creating some customs graphs, but nothing that fits in this frame attached in jpg in this post. I did load the Netvision MIB for Socomec UPS, but it doesn't work. Can anyone please
Cannot clear Alarms in Opmanager MSP
Hi, When I try to clear or delete an alarm I get: ====================================== Failed to perform the operations for the following objects. Text mode inatall
Hi Does Opmanager MSP have a text mode installation procedure? We need it because our routers ( with FreeBSD installed OS system) does not have X window systems.
OPManager not working after upgrade
I have upgraded Opmanager from 6002 to 6013. In order to do this I had to install SP1 first, because I was getting "the hotfix can be applied only over 6010 build". After installing SP1, I installed the 6013 hotfix. Now the Opmanager service is missing from the windows service. Any suggestions? Thanks.
OpManager MSP - Change size of dashboard and Google map
We currently have 40 customers running on our Central Server and we would like to increase the size of the dashboard and Google map. Is this possible.. if yes how can we edit this.
[MSP6003] No Admin/Support tab when logging in as Admin
After updating my MSP to build 6003 my Admin and Support tab disappeared when I log in as Admin. Other users I created do have to admin tab available. Help!!! :)
Couple of questions - SNMP & timings
I've just begun using OpManager MSP and I'm hoping that someone will be able to offer some advice here. SNMP Problem I have enabled SNMP on a number of the desktops at one of the probes but upon rediscover they still do not register as having SNMP enabled. Is there something else that can be done in order to sort this? I'm not familiar with using a mib browser so I'm unsure as to how checks cna be done using this tool...I've read the material available here and I'm still at a loss. Timing The clients
Latency problem ---- Windows 2003
All Servers Opmanager (6012 on Windows 2003 R2) manages have a slowly increasing latency problem over the last 4 weeks. Opmanager does not figure out that the monitoring server is the problem.....after a reboot everything seems to be OK. Is there any way how I can improve this situation? Dipe
Adding notification profile to multiple devices
Hi, To make life easier I wanted to created multiple notification profiles for several types of servers. I created one called mail_servers, so after that I would be able to associate it to multiple exchange servers at once. So I select the profile called mail_servers, but when I have to define the criteria for this profile, I cannot select the exchange monitors? Cisco Switch 3550-48 ports down
Hi, Recently install OpsManager. Created 8 switches and 2 Routers. Switch 3 shows error on ports: "SW3-38..170 Ports 8, 12, 18, 20, 23, 29, 30, 35, 41, 45, 48 are down Trouble Switch Feb 16,2007 10:26:26 AM. I checked all data ports physically and all PC and Printers are up and running at 100MBS on the troubled ports. There seems to be no problem with the network. Switch has SNMP protocol running. Does anyone know why I would receive port errors in OpsManager. Thanks Chris

hi all i have install opmanager 6.0 on debian server. it is runing fine . i want to automatically start the OPmanager Server service at the time of booting , coz every times i have to start Server services from /bin dir. IS it possible ? Does support can help ? Any help appriciate !!
Monitor Dell 2724 switch
I have a Dell 2724 managed switch that I added into OpManager and when I try to add a monitor it prompts for a password to use for Telnet. This switch is not capable of telnet. How am I able to monitor this switch or is there not a way?
Monitoring problem using TELNET
Hi, When I have used the previous version of OpManager 5.5 I haven't had a problem with monitoring resources using telnet connection. With the new one 5.6 I am not able to use Telnet based monitors for Solarise. I put correct values for login and password but didn't work. I saw message TCP INCORRECT CHECKSUM using Ethereal. Custom Mointor Error
every time i click on Add Custom Monitor, i get a web page that just displays message 'Error'. I have noticed many previous posts that relate to this exact same problem and opmanager support has suggested that this is a bug and hence the file 'opmanager_graphInfo.xml' needs to be sent and edited by support. Am i required to do the same thing?

I am not able to see my Active Directory performance counters in OpManager. I have tried executing the command �wmiadap.exe /f� on the domain controllers but without success ( I still get the status N/A). All other performance monitors are working OK. Any idea of what is going on or how to fixit? Screech

Monitoring Cisco Router - Device Status not changing
Howdy, We are just about done with our evaluation of OpManager and I'd like to say it's impressed us. Nice piece of software and does a great job. We currently have a small problem though. We have a series of Cisco 1760 routers that we are monitoring, during the initial interface discovery process it detected several interfaces that are of course 'virtual' and not being used. It then flagged these as down at the next update which was correct. I cleared the alarms, and then removed those interfaces,

Individual HDD usage monitoring
Hi, I have a client who is interested in using OpManager to manage some servers and firewalls. One of his requirements is that he can see (and receive notifications for) the utilization of individual HDDs within his server. Does OpManager support this or does it only display total HDD utilization. He requires this feature so he can be notified when a single disk in a server is nearly full. Custom monitor
Hi, I have a thermometer in one of our servers whom the all minute records in an archive the temperature of the CPD. This thermometer does not have a MIB . Extiste some form to collect the information recorded in the archive and create a threshold activating alarms as is made with memory, cpu, etc? The archive has the following format: DAY; hour; temperature (C�); 14/02/07; 10: 36; 23.0; 14/02/07; 10: 37; 23.0; 14/02/07; 10: 38; 23.1; It is possible to construct a MIB for this? TKS !!!
Two Problems
I recently purchased OpManager and am still setting it up, but I noticed I'm having two problems. First, I have a Email Notification Profile that I want to delete. If I click on the Delete icon I get a Notification Deleted Successfully message and the profile is removed. However, if I leave the Notifications page and come back the Email Notification Profile I just deleted is back again. My second problem is with switch monitoring. I'm getting critical alerts on switches because ports are going down.
New to OpManager
How would I use this program to monitor possible network issues like loops and bad switches? Can it be set to not notify if a port is not being used on a switch? Thanks for the help and response
OpManager MSP SSL
I recently installed MSP onto a public facing server and the install appeared to go very well. I assigned the default port (443) to be used for SSL on the central server. When I attempt to install a probe at a clients I cannot use port 443 as they use SBS 2003 based machines an port 443 is already in use by OWA, RWW, etc. So I need to assign another port. I did this on the probe machine but the probe will not register back at the central server. I assume that the ports need to be identical at both

How do you change the display name of a switch port?
I have a switch that is reporting all its ports as "Ethernet Interface" this becomes cumbersome when attempting to identify specific ports when mapping. Is there a way to change the display name of an individual switch port?
opmanager and servicedesk error
Hi, I registered ServiceDesk in Opmanager as addon succesfully, I then added an asset in servicedesk with name "test1" and a server in opmanager with name "test1", but when in Opmanager I try to use servicedesk tab to see fields of "test1" I get: " Unable to fetch Asset Details from ServiceDeskPlus. Check whether the device is added in ServiceDeskPlus Check whether the ServiceDeskPlus Server is running " But ServiceDesk is running. What is the correct way to associate items between both applications?

Active Directory monitor incomplete?
According to AD monitor, I don't have an Infrastructure Master, RID Master, Domain Naming Master, a Schema Master or any LDAP activity at all. there is also a lot of other information showing N/A. This has been running about 8 hours so far....if you fix the functionality i'll probably purchase the add-on, it looks very useful.
Changes in SysDescription in Device snapshot
Hi all, I've the following situation here. The firmware version of several devices appear in the Device Snapshot in the Sys Desc: field. I recently performed an upgrade of firmware versions of 16 devices. Though becoming a little essential for our maintenance the change of the firmware version isn't displayed anywhere. I'm reluctant to delete/re-add the device since the last time I did something like that I lost the history for that device. I'm also a little afraid to do a Rediscovery of the device

We run OpManager MSP edition and we have a client who is having issues with internet/VPN connections dropping. It isn't enough to result in a probe down error, but they lose enough packets that their remote access and site-to-site VPN connections drop. Hi Has anyone ever changed the IP address of the: -central server -the probes in OpManager MSP. I know everthing specifiedy by FQDN but I have to move the central OpManager MSP server onto another subnet and was wondering if this would break anything.
