Unable to clear SQL cache alarms (build 7025)
Well it looks like the patch to 7025 did not fully fix our problems with regards to clearing SQL alarms. We are still having problems with; - When an SQL alarm is acknowledged no problems are encountered - When the same alarm is 'cleared' we get a blank page in IE or Firefox and the only way to get back to OpManager is to login again. Of course the alarm is still present and has not been cleared. - We've noticed that when on certain SQL monitors setting the 'threshold' seems to have no effect. We
SNMP or WMI
Do i need to get SNMP and WMI to work before i can grab any information? i got a few windowsNT server which SNMP is working but the CPU, RAM and disk utilization is not able to work. how should i go trouble shooting if i am unable to get the utilization working??
Health Reports in OpManager 7

Downtime Scheduler won't set machines back to managed
Hi, I am currently running a registered build of OpManager 7023. I attempted to create a new downtime schedule last week and accidentally selected an entire business view containing 200+ servers. This downtime schedule set all these boxes to unmanaged the next day. However, I was able to do a quick config and set all of them back to managed after deleting the downtime schedule that caused this. exchange monitor
hello, our AD and MSSQL monitors kick ass but the exchange monitor seems to be falling short. it only pulls a few statistics, and stamps NA on everything else. SNMP and WMI function fine, all other monitors / stats display as desired. please see attached. it seems the exchange monitor is not pulling some information or the server is not supplying it. any assistance is appreciated.

Hello there. I've been studying your Opmanager software. I've learned almost everything I need to know, except one thing: The probe. I cannot locate information specific to the network probe on your website. I looked at one deployment example and became more confused than ever. Perhaps you could provide a link to some detailed information. Or, could you perhaps answer a couple of questions for me? - Do you install one probe per client? - One per site? - What is it's footprint? Can it be installed

Editing Trap Processor Props doesn't help
Hello! I receive SNMP traps from some monitored firewalls. If the trap comes up it has the status "Attention" but I want that the status is always set to "Clear" for this OID. I edited the properties of this trap but OpManager still shows the status "Attention" when the trap comes up. Am I doing something wrong?? I am using OpManager 7 with the latest Build #7025. I am using opmanager version 7.I installed net-snmp on client machine and opmanager 7 on server machine.But when I called cpu utilisation from mib browser the error " Request failed or timed out. Response PDU received from 192.168.1.3 Error Indication in response: There is no such variable name in this mib. Errindex: 1" .All forums tell use CLI based authentication that will fix the issue,but no luck.Some told install oid for the mib,how can I do this or what is the exact issue and fix.Please advice
Memory Utilization Dials/Custom Monitors
Every 24 hours or so.. (maybe less) My memory utilization dials stop showing data. When I perform a manual test for memory utilization.. I get "timeout" errors. My resolution to fixing this..is simply restarting the opmanager service on the server running the application. The OS that is continuously causing this any of my hosts running "linux". Its like opmanager and my linux hosts..just stop talking to eachother on the memory utilization tests. Any curiosity why this is happening?

Regarding CPU,Memory & Disk Utilization
Hi, On both my servers & desktops i have my Snmp enabled but when i go on to Event log rules & click Test Credential option in it it says snmp & wmi failed.Moreover for what purpose this MIB Browser & Switch port mapper is used.on certain systems i do get the cpu & memory utilization while i dont receive data for disk usage...And on certain systems even when SNMP is enabled i dont get the data for CPU, Memory & Disk usage...Please advice

Foundry Switch showing 66 ports
Hello, We have 14 Foundry Switches. The model number of the switch is FastIron GS648P. Three of the above mentioned switches in the OpManager Device Snapshot page shows port/Index number from 1-66 where it has only 48 ports with 2 optional 10G ports. Anyone can help with the probable reason for it?
Some basic questions
Hi all I am currently trialling OpManager MSP Edition Build 6005. This is being trialled on a business park of 25 units - each unit has a switch (24 or 48 port) with a fibre uplink port back to the 2 core switches. Current issues: 1. I am getting an alarm for every port up/down over these 25 switches...which is completely unnecessary. I would like to disable alarms for member ports while still collecting stats for them, and just have port up/down alarms and email notification for the uplink ports
Unable to fetch Asset Details from ServiceDeskPlus.
On OpManager build 7020. We can't fetch asset details from SD+ The assets are listed in both OpManager and SD+ and both the servers are running side by side -- we can jump back and forth between them. Ruggedcom Switchs 2100 and 900
Hello Comunity, I have made a custom template for my switchs ruggedcom 2100 and 900, without the MIBS (Becouse I don�t have it), and I have taked the OID of these switchs making on query to the devices IP address, well then I have pressed the create botton, then I have selected the devices that will use this template. Locating certain tables in OpManager Database
Is there a database table key? If not, I am looking to retrieve some information from my database for a custom report. The report is going to use the OpManager database to look at downtime of individual sites throughout the state. We have added a field in the device notes for each of our routers for us to keep track of the ISP. I am going to need to be able to retrieve which sites have which ISPs and relate that to the downtime. Another thing that I need is the text that I am inputing into the reason

Unable to clear Alarms (Licensed build 7024)
Hi, Just lately we have been unable to clear any alarms. If you go to the Alarms page you can select any alarm and acknowledge the alarm without any problems, however if you then select an alarm and click on "Clear" the page will go blank and not refresh, where previously you would get a page refresh and the text stating that the Alarms had been cleared. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Cheers, Matt
How do I break the "addMonitors" list into groups?
Is there any way to break the "addMonitors" list into sub groups, like windows, linux, unix, etc? I do not like the fact that there are 3 "CPU Utilization" and I have know way to tell what one is for what OS.
Issue when you decide to unmanage a device
Hi, I would like to stop to monitor few device by modifying the status from Manage to unmanage, I need to do that because I need to keep data history for these devices. When I idi that, I continue to receive alarm regarding services down etc, I don't want to remove service from device snapshot for reason mentioned before. Is it possible to correct it to stop to send alarm when the status of a device is unmanaged specially for escalation. We would like to do it also for ours printers (156 printers)
sub groups under home --> ups --> need sub groups!
How do I add sub groups under home "Infrastructure Snapshot"? In my environment we have 500+ UPS's. The icon view just makes a mess of things. Any ideas how to gain access to "Select View" found under servers? It would be nice if we could break the UPS's into subgroups, like building, room number... Any ideas on how to do this?
Unable to query Disk Utilization from OPManager
Hi, I am unable to query the value of .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6 (hrStorageUsed) for Disk Utilization from a RHEL3 machine running net-snmp. From the standalone mib-browser that comes with OpManager, I am able to do get and get next from the same host. I do not have any issues with CPU and memory utilization. How can we get the disk utilization to work properly? There is also no issues with the storage free SNMP variable. Thanks, Uris

Create a Custom Monitor for Telnet
Hi all, I have an application that respond to telnet requests. When I test this application with OpManager I have that the server doesn't release the TCP session because it need a control-charater to exit the session. This cause slow response time from the server. My question: is there a method to create telnet monitor that after the Syn-Syn/ack-Ack sequence send a charater to quit the session (example the "q")? thanks in advance, Dario
Is OpManager speed deficient?
Hi all, I am running the latest version of OpManager in a 32-W2K3 SP2 environment. Database is MySql option which came with OpManager. The hardware is an HP Proliant DL380 G5, Quad Dual Core 3.2GHZ, 4GB RAM. The database has been disk separated physically and is stored on a Mirror array all by itself. Logging into OpManager takes between 10-30 seconds. Viewing any device in OpManager can take from 60-300 seconds. I have less than 500 devices currently being monitored. Can someone please explain to
CPU Utilisation
Hi All, I am new to the system, my question is when i viewed the cpu utilisation monitor and for some of my servers that has 2 quadcore cpu it doesn't show the data but just the graph. then in the other servers with less cpu the system displays the graph as well as the raw data below it. Does anyone experience similiar problem or is this just the way the system works. Thanks in advance for the help. Sugi
Monitoring devices from other networks
Hello all, I'm new to opmanager and I'm testing it. I'm monitoring about 20 servers from my local network, 10 switches and 4 firewalls. All is working fine except the devices that are in the branch offices. I can discover them succesfully but I cannot monitor at all, for example the windows server 2003 servers that are in the branch offices. I can discover them but I can't monitor the disk partitions for example. I only have this problem with that devices. All devices in my local network are monitored
constant timeouts
hello, we have a copy of opmanager premium with 1 user license and unlimited devices. both opmanager 6 and the newly upgraded opmanager 7 seem to regularly return us to the login page sometimes for no reason. this becomes tedious when working with multiple devices + windows. is there any way to keep the session alive? regards, - kyle
importing snmp mibs
Hi! I've got a dell ml6000. I imported the MIBs but I want to be able to use the snmp traps as performance traps but they won't shop up. I can add individual traps or bulk traps but I'd rather just use the traps I imported. thx
Device Icon incorrect after change type
Hi, I have discovered a device (that I do not have SNMP access to) and this devices is a perimeter device that I just wish to monitor its response time on our network. Upon discovery the device has appeared in the desktop category as expected. I have drilled into the device and changed its type to Router but the device icon on Business Views and other views still show it as a desktop machine. If i drill into the device the device shows with its correct router image. Any ideas? 4NDY
Printer Page Count
On our printers (HP 4000, 4050, 4100, 4200 plus a few others) we cannot view the page count. The Pages Printed monitor appears to use the correct SNMP OID (from what I know about SNMP OID's which is very little!) but gives a total 'since last checked' rather than a running total. Is it possible to add or alter a counter to show these and other counters that the HP printers have? Like pages remaining or since last maintenance? "add monitors" does not appear to have relevant monitors listed. Cheers,
