Some basic questions

Hi all

I am currently trialling OpManager MSP Edition Build 6005.

This is being trialled on a business park of 25 units - each unit has a switch (24 or 48 port) with a fibre uplink port back to the 2 core switches.

Current issues:

1. I am getting an alarm for every port up/down over these 25 switches...which is completely unnecessary. I would like to disable alarms for member ports while still collecting stats for them, and just have port up/down alarms and email notification for the uplink ports only.

2. Can I choose to Report only on the uplink port traffic?

I have emailed tech support who tell me that number 1 is currently not available in this release but will be soon. I was thinking of using the Trap Processor to filter out those port up/down alarms using specific OID (if indeed the OID is different per port, and not switch based?)
