Initial Discovery Not Correctly Identifying Devices
Devices are not correctly being identified during their initial discovery with our OpManager 6.0 install. The devices are showing up as as desktops. They are also not correctly identified after running "Rediscover now" on the device. The only way I can get the device to be correctly discovered as a router, switch, etc is by manually adding it. I specified our correct SNMP community string before configuring networks to discover. The correct SNMP community string also appears in the seed.file directory.
Business View Labels
Is there a way to turn off labels (eg. IP addresses, names, etc.) when creating business views? I created a business view using the default US map and started putting in my firewalls at my site locations. I have a lot of sites in one area of the country and all of the labels are just running on top of each other, making it look horrible. Is there a way to shut the labels off? Thanks

MSP Probe - "Verifying connection with web server"
I have gone to a new installation (OK a reinstallation) on the central server and used port 443 as this server does not have SBS2003 on board. On a new site (where SBS2003 is installed) I have installed the MSP probe. I can get to the server from the remote probe site. When I reboot the server or run the programme I get: The splash screen with "Verifying connection with web server" and then it sits there. I have searched for the error on here and it seems to point at Linux problems rather than MS.
Data recorded from SQL server

Not receiving any alerts
I had alerts setup for Opmanager but for some reason they are not being sent out. How do I add multiple emails to send alerts to? Also, under Mail Server setup, the email address that we list there, is that the one which forwards all of the email alerts??

CPU utilization for SMP server issues
Recently, I install OpManager (current newest version) for testing. It would work well for windows and single cpu for Linux system. But for SMP server running Linux, the CPU utilization get -1%, and memory alway over 95% (But the real utilization is only 45% around). WHat cause it? How to solve?
Custom Device Types into Correct Category
Hi It would be great for when I add a Custom Device Type I could then place that device in the correct Category. Eg, I have created a new device type for HP Procurve Wireless 420 Access Points. Opmanager CPU Utilization % always the same status
Hello, when i enable the CPU Utilization % for a server, i get always the same status. If i examine the Cpu Load on the machine i get the correct status. I use SNMP to monitor the CPU Utilization. If I use SSH i get the status -1. The server is a multi prozessor machine with 2 oder 4 Cpu's. Where is the failure ?

Custom monitor multiple instances in a custom report
Hello, We have a AKCP probe with its mib and a custom monitor in place. We have 8 instances of the temp for the 8 different probes. We can not query the DB certain times. We need to query the DB for a period of time where we were having problems. When viewing the graphs there is no extra box for changing the date/times to view. The custom report option in reports reports there is no data available. I'm pretty sure the data is there as OpManager will graph it for me but it won't allow me to query

Problem starting probe
Hi, When i want to start the Probe (on linux) i get the following error " Probe build number 6001 is not compatible with the central server build number 6000. Hence shutting down the probe". The central server is on windows and the build level is 6001 and not 6000. The build level of the probe is 6001. Thanks, Emti
Null interface
1) When locking @ the router view it shows a Null interface, but I have no Null configured. I do have a dialer interface and could this be it? 2) Can i delete some of the interfaces if we are not using them in the large map view?
Changing Interface Speed for Utilization Calculation
How can I change interface ifspeed response when routers were configured to different bandwidths? For example;interface is 128k but "bandwidth 256" command were applied to router. Therefore, ifspeed response is 256k. I need a solution to change interface speed that used in utilization calculations(ifspeed). I've also changed interface speed that seen on gui by using mysql commands. Creating custom monitors may solve this problem but creating and applying custom monitors for every interface seems

OPManger is currently showing the incorrect IP address associated with an interface on my Cisco router. Is there a way to correct this?

AD lsass cpu monitor above 100%
We just bought Opmanager and we are running into a problem in the Domain controller panel. The LSASS process shows more then 100% cpu usage. Even up to 1300%. When I monitor on the system itself it does only become more then 1% some of the time.
dynamic link on the GUI
Hello all, I would like to have a dynamic link via the web interface. In the Device Details, we can "add more details" and I would like to add a link to a website concerning some of my servers. I want to be redirected to the web page just by clicking on the adress. It is not possible to do it by configuration. But can I access some html pages in OpManager directory concerning these edit fields in order to transform it to a web link by simply adding an html <a href> </href> syntax ? S.
Error adding custom device type
I am trying to add a custom device type for a Raritan Dominion KX KVM-over-IP switch. Its System Description OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10. However, I get the following error: Already a Device Type is present for this OID I see that device type Linux has the more generic OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2. Is that what's preventing me from adding the more specific device OID? The KVM switch is based on a Linux kernel which is why it shares the same major OID, but shouldn't I be able to add a more specific
Problem with SMTP Email - Notifications
After removing "Anonymous" access to our SMTP server, for security reasons, OpManager is unable to send notifications. I gave it a username and email account on our Exchange server, so it should be able to authenticate to the SMTP server as a user. When I try to send a test message, the error returned is: 454 5.7.3 Client does not have permission to submit mail to this server. The error above is received when the Exchange server's SMTP virtual server is set to accept "Integrated Windows Authentication"

Dual Processor showing up as 4 CPUs when monitoring via VMI
I have a Dell Poweredge Dual XEON server running 2003. When I us the CPU Utilization with the monitor type of WMI it shows as if there are 4 CPU's on the detail graph and tables. It shows CPU0, CPU1, CPU2, CPU3. And each have values... granted many times it is 0, but each one at some point does show values as if it is really tracking utilization. If I choose CPU Utilization with monitor type of SNMP then it just acts like there is just one. Why am I seeing the 4? I also see these on several other
Monitoring Backup Interfaces (down at normal conditions)
Is there any solution for monitoring backup lines that are normally at down state. I want to get notification only when the backup line is at up state.
Business View not showing up for user
1) I have created a business view. 2) I then created a user with read rights and checked the box referencing the business view I created in step one. 3) I can see the view in the web client with the administrator. 4) I CANNOT see anything when I sign in as this new user. Nothing at all. Just the tabs across the top of the screen. What am I missing? It is as this user does not have access to anything.

Monitoring temperature on IBM servers
Hi I am trying to monitor temperature on our IBM server and have tried adding the vendor specific monitor for our x series server without any success. Using the Test Monitor button on the Monitor Properties page results in a Monitor did not respond error. We have installed the latest IBM agents on the x series 236 server.......any clues on how to troubleshhot this issue. Jim

Using Costom Monitor I load Custom SNMP OIDs. I want to get the value of a specific variable. As I set the OID to monitor, I try to test the new monitor and I find the given OID has a .0 suffix , so differing from the given. In that way the get fails. Do I need more info? Or there is something not acting in the propre way?
Adding Telnet or SSH link on Snapshot Page
Is there a way in OpManager to add an option on the snapshot page of a router to telnet or SSH to the router? Thanks

I'm evaluating OpManager 5 and so far I really like it. However, there seem to be a few problems: 1. FreeBSD and Win2k servers could not be set to monitor POP3 service. 2. Win2k3 server can only be set to monitor SMTP service. Could anyone tell me how to solve these problems? Thank you very much.
Infrastructure categories adding
Adding and removing an infrastructure category would be very handy when using the opmanger in a lab environment. Now there is no way to indicate traffic generators, probes etc. as they don't belong with any of the existing ones now.

Monitoring Traffic Statistics
I have a question regarding traffic statistics like errors, discards, tx, rx, utilization and so forth. When it asks for utilization on a 15 minute window is it getting the utilization at that EXACT moment or is the snmp returning the average over the last 15 minutes. What about for errors. The default time window is 60 minutes. Is it grabbing the errors accumulated over the last 60 minutes? When it grabs it does it reset it back to 0?
