Problem with SMTP Email - Notifications
After removing "Anonymous" access to our SMTP server, for security reasons, OpManager is unable to send notifications. I gave it a username and email account on our Exchange server, so it should be able to authenticate to the SMTP server as a user. When I try to send a test message, the error returned is:
454 5.7.3 Client does not have permission to submit mail to this server.
The error above is received when the Exchange server's SMTP virtual server is set to accept "Integrated Windows Authentication" only. If I enable "Basic Authentication", then I get this error:
454 5.7.3 Client does not have permission to Send As this sender.
I am able to send SMTP email from Outlook, with an SMTP email account set up.
Can OpManager send notifications through the Exchange Virtual SMTP server?
