Initial Discovery Not Correctly Identifying Devices

Devices are not correctly being identified during their initial discovery with our OpManager 6.0 install. The devices are showing up as as desktops. They are also not correctly identified after running "Rediscover now" on the device. The only way I can get the device to be correctly discovered as a router, switch, etc is by manually adding it. I specified our correct SNMP community string before configuring networks to discover. The correct SNMP community string also appears in the seed.file directory. Our network consists of several hundred devices and manually adding them is not an option. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
