Monitoring Traffic Statistics
I have a question regarding traffic statistics like errors, discards, tx, rx, utilization and so forth.
When it asks for utilization on a 15 minute window is it getting the utilization at that EXACT moment or is the snmp returning the average over the last 15 minutes.
What about for errors. The default time window is 60 minutes. Is it grabbing the errors accumulated over the last 60 minutes? When it grabs it does it reset it back to 0?
Basically I am trying to understand what is being returned, are they averages, do the reset the counter, should I have it grab the data more often, and so forth.
