All versions of software title together
Can a search be done that puts all versions of the software title search together? For example if I search for Adobe Reader the output will come back with a line for each version of Adobe Reader. For some searches I might want all these results combined, for example a search for *Reader* would put all the workstations with Adobe Reader together. Ideally this would be under 'Assets' tab so that action could be taken on the results. If that isn't possible is there a pre-existing report that does
Prohibited Software List
Hi I'm Currently evaluating Desktop Central and have a question with regards to the prohibited software list. My first question is can you add software to the list that is currently not installed on any machine in the network? My second question is when I have some software in the list if the software is then removed and it was the last machine to have it, the software disappears from the list, even if someone else then installs the software it doesn't come back. is there a way to stop this so it
Overhead for turning on the user reporting
We are in an AD environment owned by our parent company. They have placed domain controllers in our physical location and all workstations are joined to that domain. I have Desktop Central set up, and agents deployed to the PCs in our organization and would like to utilize the User Logon reports, however Desktop Central does not have the ability to restrict its scanning of AD to our organization's OU. If I was to turn on the User Logon reporting, what does Desktop Central do to get that information?

Hi. Include non-managed devices in the inventory I use Desktop Central to manage configuration and inventory for my Windows stuff. I like the fact that i can get reports of servers with Maintenance due to expire. However this only really corresponds to my Microsoft inventory. It would be nice if I could add a VMWare host or non-managed device in here so that I could have all of my inventory information in one place. If I entered a Dell service tag for a VMWare host, it would track the maintenance
How to create script
I've been able to successfully install WinZip 19 msi using the "Software Deployment" package creation and then install process. All works as desired. However, after the installation we need to run a license file (called "WinZip.wzmul"). How do I write a script that would launch this file using elevated permissions (all users only have "User" privileges on their PCs)? I've placed the "WinZip.wzmul" file in the software depository and the user's also have access to the file on their W:\ drive.
Issue with MDM
MDM devices enrolled does not work through GSM. If I want to reset a passcode to a device that has the MDM agent on but connected through GSM, It fails. For example: A work Iphone can be resetted within the work network LAN and WIFI. But If someone stole the Iphone and connects the Iphone via GSM to access internet somewhere else, why cant we apply security locks or passcode reset to that particular phone. Hardware Report for Disaster Recovery
For the past number of years we have extrapolated what we need from SCCM, and used Microsoft SQL Reporting services to put it in a nice friendly view. For every server that must be recovered, we've found the following list of hardware items is needed. What I would like is a way to do this just through DTCentral, and toss out all of our SQL Reporting if possible. I have tried to setup the schedule report for "User Logon Report by Computer" and with the criteria of "logon or logoff time" equal to "last month. However, the schedule report either give me nothing or all logon history, manually generating the report off the "User logon report by computer" with last month return the correct data, please help. All, Is there a way to add a PC to the SOM that has no network connection? Can I install a Desktop Central agent on this PC and export the data into a file on the PC of USB disk and then Import it into the SOM? Thx
MDM Security Concerns
We have been using Desktop Central for about a year now and i would love to start using the MDM features. My company has concerns about opening the "Desktop Central" server which has remote access to all of our computers, to the internet. One idea was to run another install of Desktop Central on a separate server just for MDM, but i would like to avoid doing this. Cannot patch Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition Service Pack 2 get No targets available
I can get inventory details, I can see what patches are needed, but when deploying a patch configuration, Execution Status says "No targets available" and the patch configuration never deploys. I have been able to patch previously on the server, it randomly stopped working. I've tried to reinstall the agent, but that does not solve the issue.

Calculate amount of data in a particular folder
I am new to Desktop Central - please be kind. I am looking for a way to see how data is in a particular folder. We are considering changing the location of all user's My Documents folder to point to the user's home drive. Before we do we want to get an estimated amount of data that would be copied over. exit codes on custom scripts

Auto approve patches from a publisher?
Hello -- Is it possible to automatically approve patches for a particular publisher or software title? For example, I would like my clients to be as up to date as possible on Flash player. I don't want to have to go in to DC every month and approve the latest patches for Flash player.
SNMP Trap for Desktop Central
Hi there, We have been noticing some performance issues with DesktopCentral recently. My personal theory is because we are using an instance of MSSQL 2008 on a seperate server, and the amount of data being fed through to the database may be large due to it scanning 700+ systems and that someone on my team may be trying to also generate the reports at the same time that this is occuring. Is there any way I can set an SNMP trap on the Desktop Central server that will report back statical information

I recently deleted the "admin" account from the user admin section. Any it shows that it is gone. (see attached) but I can still login to the site with the admin account as a local user?? Is there any way of getting this t account to go away?

Desktop central - alert for hardware change
Hi, I m testing Desktop central and found something that is a problem for me, Problem with this alarm is that when somebody for example turn off/on monitor with usb/card hub inside monitor I got 5-6 mails of alert that new hardware is found. I like this alert and I would like to use it for memory/HD/graph. cards change (big changes) but like this I cant enable it because its spam my mailbox. do you have plans for fixing ? thnx, P.S. I want to remove a piece of software that was added to the prohibited software list. When I look at the list I am not able to see that software name in the list any where. Where would it have gone and how do I see it again? Any help would be appreciated?

Remote Control not working with IE 11 (Works fine with Chrome)
Hi I am testing with the Remote Control tool in Desktop Central. When testing with IE11 I can find a PC and shutdown or start it up ok but when I try and remote control to it a message appears on the client PC asking if Administrator can control. I click allow and then nothing happens on the administration PC. If I try again I get a message saying that it Remote is waiting to establish a connection. For info the remote control works fine when using Chrome. Could this be related to Active X settings
Automatic Path Deployment
Hi, I was trying to configure automatic path schedule for updating group of servers. Is it possible to scan and download all missing patches in separate job and then have another job that installs these patches? Scanning and downloading takes time and I have pretty small time window for patching & rebooting these servers. It would help if I can just deploy patches inside the time window. I have recently tried to update from version 90039 to version 90067 as I noticed during the logon process that an update was available. However, after downloading the ppm and following the update process I cannot get the update to install. No errors show and all the services start back up without any indication of what the problem is.
.PFX cert import into Desktop Central will not accept password
I have a 3rd party .pfx cert with known good password, as I've imported it several times elsewhere, including the opmanager product. Desktop Central is saying "invalid password" (private key backup password). So thinking my original password might be too complex, or too many characters, I re-exported the cert including private key and provided a simple 9 character password. Even the short no special character password is being rejected by Desktop Central on this .pfx cert backup. I'm very good
New false positive for patch 100672 (MSWU-1150) on Win 7 SP1 and MS Office 2010
It looks like patch 100672 (MSWU-1150) was released on December 8th. All of our Win 7 SP-1 / Office 2010 workstations had been showing that it was installed or not needed. Suddenly this morning we have 68 machines (out of a total 180+) that are showing that they require the patch. On one of the affected machines, I tried manually installing the patch and was told it didn't apply to the system in question. Anyone else notice this behavior today? Thanks.
Foxit reader after update asks for administrator account
Hello! after last update of Foxit reader it asks our users to log in as administrator when opening PDF documents. Foxit is updated, everything is installed, restarted, but still asks for administrator password for the first time when starting foxit or opening PDF document. Error when submitting Help Desk request from client
When our users try to submit requests from the DC agent to our ServiceDesk software, they receive a "your request could not be sent" message. In the TO: address field it says Help Desk, but I never could find the way to specify the ServiceDesk email account. Is there a place that all of this gets set? Cannot continue patching
I am using manual patching by selecting single or multiple computers and trying to patch, previously when I have the "draft download failed", I click on it and remove the failed patches and continue deployment and it successfully continues patching with the already downloaded patches, now its not doing that, it always displays draft download failed even I removed the failed patches. What is this problem. I am on the latest service pack and this problem appears on the newer version. Regards

For the target system is locate in a remote office and manage by the distribution server. I'm choose the HTTP path to do the deployment. Service Desk Plus to Desktop Central Prompt
Hello, we have Service Desk Plus and Desktop Central setup on the same server and both are using https: for their URL's. Every time we go from SDP to DC it does not automatically bring up the window for DC. We get prompted in IE11 that only secure content is displayed and we have to hit the show all content button. Once we do this the DC page comes up but just trying to see how to get around this. We have also added the https: url into trusted sites in IE but are still having the same behavior.
Auto Patches Initiating Deployments Outside of Window
I have Automated Patches setup. It says Next Run Time : Today at 8:00pm and Current Status : Suspended. I went into the Policy and added an exception PC which needed to be skipped tonight. After saving it immediately started pushing patches at 10:00am. Why did it start pushing patches? The next run time was not until 8:00pm. Thank you, Cassie L Levett

Hello, We are trying to move our server patching from wsus to desktop central. However, we like that fact that we could start the update process directly from the servers manually. View patch jobs or configurations from other technicians
We have a technician that has configured and running a patch job. Other technicians who are logged in are not able to view the patch job(s) or view the status of running patch jobs. We are looking under the 'Configurations' tab and then selecting 'Created by All'. Also on the 'Home' tab there is a 'Configuration Summary Report'. Can that also be made to reflect all Configurations instead of just the logged in technician?
