For the past number of years we have extrapolated what we need from SCCM, and used Microsoft SQL Reporting services to put it in a nice friendly view. For every server that must be recovered, we've found the following list of hardware items is needed. What I would like is a way to do this just through DTCentral, and toss out all of our SQL Reporting if possible. Some of the items such as UEFI or BIOS I'm not seeing in the inventory report, but it might be buried in there somewhere. Because our Disaster Recovery, is tested frequently, and in real-life, we're able to restore a server very quickly when needed, I would like to have handy just the limited view of hardware as follows, is this something I can do with DTCEntral? or in the works?
1. ServerName
2. Network: IPAddress
Subnet
Gateway
DNS
WINS (note this list can be duplicated or triple etc., for multi-homed systems or cluster nodes)
3. System Memory
4. Processory Speed and Quantity
5. Disk Space Requirements (note this list of installed disks can be long as with clustered sql servers)
6. Storage Controller: (very helpful to know what the original was, often we have to edit registries during the recovery process for the new target hardware)
7. Windows Server Version:
8. External Application Dependency: (filled in manually user information)
9. Is the Server Physical or VM?
10. Is the Server BIOS or UEFI? * absolutely necessary
