Inventory Issue for Mac (OSX) Agents
I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue that I am with the Mac agent. Inventory scans seem to run just fine and from looking at the logs on the client workstation everything is scanned and successfully transmitted to the Desktop Central server however when trying to view inventory data for those workstations it seems to have a lot of problems. Specifically, for new agent installations when viewing the Inventory Details each of the tabs contain no data but the Last Scan time stamp

Hello, We have a file called .lock in DesktopCentral_Server>/bin folder, is this necessary to delete it before applying the hotfix build #90059 ? We had problems to applying a older hotfix, Technical Account Manager give me advise to delete ppm.lock file, but there is only a .lock file Regards, Marco

Software Deployment Build 90045
Completed the upgrade to Desktop Central Build 90045, I then tried to use an existing software Package for IE 11 to push out the installation to 4 Win 7 desktop computers. Received Error Code 40008 and Execution Failed even though the software was installed? Additionally, when I view the software installed on these devices, it lists both an earlier version (IE8) and IE 11 are installed, though when I go to the computer itself and look at the Programs installed, it only lists IE 11. Desktop Central on non domain pcs
I am wondering if anyone is using this application for PCs that are not on a domain. I have 40 locations that have 2-3 computers each that have no VPN or MPLS connection back to main network. All of our apps are cloud based or web driven. Has anyone used this product in this manner. I am looking at a all in one management platform for patching, Remote Control and software rollouts. Currently looking at Logmein Pro & Central but use several other ZOHO apps so want to give them a look as well.
Desktop Central is unable to start after Patch 90045
Hello Team, i´ve try to install the Security Patch with Build number 9_0_0_SP-0_45. During Installation i got the error, that some argument could not be read and the installation was aborting. I restart the whole Server and the Services from the Desktop Central Core Server will not be starting. Additionally, i canot install the newest Hotfix with Build number 9_0_0_SP-0_46 because i get a "unable to install update" warning and the installation is aborting. I´ve found some lines in the "dc_service_log"
Inventory > Software > Filter-by drop-downs no longer working in build 90059
I just applied the latest hotfix 90059 to our Desktop Central server last Saturday. I noticed today that when I select the Inventory tab, then select Software in the left margin and pick any of the categories (or domains or types of software) from the filters, nothing happens. Inventory > Computers and Inventory > Hardware filters work fine. Just Inventory > Software no longer responds. We have two configured administrators, and this is the case for both. I've tried using both Chrome and Firefox
Desktop Central Server - Backup window
On my actual DC server, when I login, I have at least one "ManageEngine Desktop Central" window open (multiple windows if it has been more than one day since my last login) that has the Backup & Restore tabs. Just sitting there. I have automatic backups configured to backup to a different server. Most of the time the backups appear to be made and by using the popup Backup window I can put in my save location and click Backup and it is successful.. I don't understand why this window keeps popping

Removing IP address from multiple IP Server
Hi, Our Desktop Central Server is currently configured with two IP addresses. The setting for the server IP address under Admin > Agent Settings > General Settings > Server IP address has an IP listed and the option to Automatically detect and save the IP Address change is checked. I'd like to remove one of the IP's on this server. If I have read the documentation correctly I should just be able to remove it and the restart the Desktop Central service on the server. This should then update the IP
Scope of management OU synchronization problem
I am running Desktop Central v90033. I have configured SoM to scan Active Directory for new machines every morning and automatically install the agent. I have noticed that SoM is finding computers that are not in an OU that I have specifically included in the configuration. If I select a parent OU in SoM, is that supposed to find machines in any of the OUs beneath it? If not, this appears to be a bug in the software.

Installed Software Not Listed
After running an asset scan on a machine I look at the list of Installed Software and a specific application that I know is installed on the machine is not listed. This program is installed on all machines and it shows up on most but not all of the machines in the Installed Software list. I've found that if I uninstall and re-install the agent on those machines it quickly finds the missing application. Openn SSL & Apache Updates
Hello, Any idea as to when in DC openSSL will be updated to 1.0.1h or later and Apache be updated to 2.4.10 or later? My security team is on my back to get both updated or they will block my DC server. Problems with Internet Explorer not showing up in Inventory
We've been running Desktop Central 8 (80354) for about three days, and I just noticed that our Inventory - Software (and Inventory Reports) are no longer showing Internet Explorer on nearly all of our Win 7 (x64) workstations. This includes IE v9, IE v10, and IE v11 (all x64). Under Patch Mgmt, IE is still showing up as installed on workstations, so this only seems to be impacting the Inventory area. Upgrade from DTC 8 to 9
We are currently using DTC 8 and I applied all of the patches through build 90046. When log into Desktop Central after the upgrade it still shows that I am on the original build as well as still on version 8. As of now it says I am still on build 80260. This is a screenshot of the applied patches. What am I doing wrong? This is the first time I have had to upgrade this software.
Agent Settings for Remote computers
At the moment when you configure the Agent settings for Desktop Central, it asks you to configure the IP address only. For laptops, which are frequently outside the firewalls, I would like to have the Desktop Central Agent be able to continue to connect to the server so that they can use it to submit tickets with screen shots without having to log in to VPN. Am I missing something configureable or would this be a wish list item?

Inventory summary not up to date
Hi, I have noticed an issue over the last few days that the inventory summary will not update. I click generate summary, and it says it is successful. Unfortunately, after refreshing the error is still there. Computers still have old software in their inventory. It appears to update newly added software.
Where is download for 90044?
Today I was told to download hotfix 90044 for Desktop Central, but the download page only shows 90033. Where does one get 90044? Larry
Some basic options have disappeared from the control panel.
Hi, Since we have installed DesktopCentral MSP v. 9.0.0 with Build No.:90043, we realized that some options have disappeared from the control panel. First, logging with the customer admin user, there are no button to remove computers from the list. This option only appears with the admin user. Also, there aren't option to create dynamic groups neither the option to create a new configuration. Are there any patch to solve this or which solution? Thanks!!!
More granular privileges
At first glance, the following does not appear to be possible in the version I have installed, but I could be missing something. Fix time setting on Desktop Central server
Can anyone help fix the time on my Desktop Central server? There is a post about running a java script, but it does not work. The post about this not working indicates to contact support. I did, but have not heard anything for a few days now. The server which this is running on has the correct time on it. However, the time stamp within the application is more than 3 hours in advance of real time. Thanks for any help you can provide. Chris

Unable to upgrade to 90033
I am trying to upgrade from Desktop central 80295 to 90033 without much success. First, I tried upgrading from 80295 to 90002 using the upgrade pack. Once I did this, I tried starting the Desktop Central server and it just hangs in a 'Starting' state .. never starts or gives out an error. Next, I restored my 80295 from backup. Reinstalled the upgrade to 90002 using the upgrade pack, then immediately installed the 90033 hotfix. Tried starting Desktop Central, and again it just hangs (I waited about

Internal DC Chat Room
Has there been any thoughts on adding a chat capability to DC? We have several technicians and it would be nice if there were a built in chat capability where we could all collaborate. I know there are chat programs available but we are limited to what we can use and what we are using now is being removed by our agency. Thanks, Mike

After upgrade to 9, local authentication is default login
We just upgraded to the latest version and local authentication is the default box on the main login page. I've looked and we don't have any local authenticated users. We want the domain to be the default choice. It was working as intended before the upgrade. Please advise on a fix. Thanks.
Daily Notifications of 'Addition of Hardware Detected' on hardware that has already been detected.

Apache 2.2.25 Update
Hello, I know that this has been discussed previously in the past, but I really need the version of Apache that Desktop central is currently using 2.2.22 to be upgraded to the latest 2.2.25. I have been using Desktop Central for years as a paid member and would be forced by my security team to uninstall it if Apache cannot be upgraded here soon. User Account for Scope of Management Issue
If I use a domain admin account for the SoM, I can install the agent and have computer automatically removed from Desktop Central when they are deleted from AD. This is great, except that it is against our policy rules to use a Domain Admin account for workstation products. We have a user account that is a local admin to all computers, but when I use that account, everything fails (agent can't install, computers aren't removed, etc). Does this users need any special rights, like delegated authority

Hi, We have set up a config to change Desktop Shorcuts & Start Menu Shortcuts but we also need to be able to change Task Bar Shortcuts. We have found that the shortcut resides in "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar" but as far as I can tell there is no way to edit this in DesktopCentral. How should we go about this?
