Erroneous APIPA warning
For a while now, I have been seeing a warning on the Home screen of my Desktop Central interface. It doesn't seem to break any functionality but it does get tiresome seeing it every single day. Our server runs on an a static IP and it hasn't changed in years. I have verified this. There are also no other network connections besides the LAN adapter. Desktop Central 10 Fonts Lato are BAD...
I don't know if anyone else thinks this but the new Lato fonts in new DC 10 are horrible.. I converted different font into .eot .woff .woff2 format and replaced in DesktopCentral_Server\webapps\DesktopCentral\themes\styles\font (rename new ones into Lato.*) making the page display crisp text.. Don't know why DC development staff would pick such horrible font..
New Office and New Domain
We currently have desktop central setup in our main office on our domain I need to demo desktop central for managing a new office location with new, separate domain. Other than setting up a distribution server and putting in the credentials for the new domain, are there any other considerations I should be preparing for when demonstrating the software?
Updating 92082 to 10003
I've just tried updating to the 10003 build but have received the following error each time, rollback was successful so no problems at the moment but just wanted to make you aware of the problem. Multiple connections to share not allowed
Hello guys, I need to deploy packages to the server with the Desktop Central installed. Unluckily, I can't. I am stuck with the message as the picture shown: Any solution, work around please? Update Manager warning when applying 92113 hotfix
My environment has an on-premise Desktop Central 9 installation running build 92099. I want to apply the hotfix to upgrade to 92133, but the update manager gives me the following warning and I cannot proceed: "This build 92113 is currently not recommended for your network. Please wait till you get latest build updates from Desktop Central." Is there a workaround for this, or could I perhaps be missing something? Thanks!
Desktop Central 10/9 version confusion?
Hi, On the main download page for DC it now states download desktop central 10. However when you then go to click on the service packs and upgrades it takes you to the current build of 9. Am I right in assuming that the main download where it states version 10 is still actually version 9? Or have i missed something about an upgrade version? Thanks
AD Groups not syncing
I go to Reports-> Security Groups-> Choose Domain-> Select the group and it only has 2 members in it. When I go to AD it has 4 members how do I make it sync up?
Login issues?
Hello, Curious if anybody else is experiencing login issues with Desktop Central. I currently have a support case open but wanted to reach out to the community as well. The application and services are all running (successful agent communication etc) however; our login attempts are getting lost in the void. The page just churns as the authentication request dies in the background (both local and domain authentication.) This is not a new DC9 installation or setup, we've been running it for years now.

Error Message when trying to apply Build Update
I am currently at Build 92099. I downloaded the ppm for 92113 from the website, when i try to apply I get error message "This Build 92113 is currently not recommended for your network. Please wait til you get latest build updates from Desktop Central". Please advise why I get this message, and if it is not for me why is it available to me.
Bug: Registering Agents when over Licenses
We have version 92119. Last week we installed agents on 3 PC's. However we reached our licence limit so these devices never showed in the console. After we applied more licences, the PC's still did not show in the console, even after several reboots. We were able to install agents on other PC's and the came up in the console. The only way we could get the 3 PC's to show in the console was to repair the agent install. To summarise - agents will not register if you install when over your licence limit,
Distribution Server - Scheduled Synchronisations
Request: We need Scheduled synchronisation of Distribution servers and the central server to occur outside of core business hours. So the feature we would like is to have a synchronisation schedule from central server to DS Real World Scenario: We have 10 remote offices, all with rubbish internet bandwidth and many devices. If a DS synchronises during the day - it could effect the users internet performance. There is no way to schedule the local download of content to a DS from the central server

Hi, The C:\ManageEngine\DesktopCentral_Server folder on my server has grown to about 9GB. There's some subfolders and single files there related to patches that have been applied to the Desktop Central application itself, not to be confused with "patch management" for applying patches to client machines. DC Backup - No Idle Connection Found
Is there a way to gracefully stop a backup procedure? I started a manual backup using backuprestore.bat about 5 hours ago. I came back from a meeting and it was still going. I checked the backuplog0.txt file and found multiple entries of the following. The last 4 lines stating "No idle connection found" is listed multiple times. And direction would be helpful. How To Repair a Client Agent Installation?
Sometimes there are computers where agent is installed but it's not anymore communicating properly with the Desktop Central server. Is there something that can be done to heal the agent so that it would re-connect to server or is the agent remove / install only option?

Desktop Central MSP (92082) and multiple computers sharing the same name
How Desktop Central reacts when there are multiple computers sharing the same name under same customer? Sometimes we have a situation where computer will be replaced and it will use the same name as the old computer. Both are having DC agent online at the same time for some time. We have seen a situation with older versions of DC MSP where this will mess up inventory data, remote connections etc. Removal also causes both agents to stop working.
Impact of deleting a unique static group
Good morning, Wanting to modify some custom groups, I hit the delete button for a unique static group but was then presented with an impact window stating "Packages that are published will be revoked". Can anyone tell me what this will have as exact impact? Will it just remove packages from the Self-Service Portal that are published for this group or will it actually uninstall software packages that were deployed with this unique static group as target? I am installing Desktop Central 9 SP2 (upgrading from 9.1.113 to 9.2.0). It is stuck upgrading PostgreSQL from 9.2.9 to 9.4.4 at 50% completed. It has been at 50% completed for over 6 hours. When hovering the mouse over the Installation Status window, the mouse pointer spins. The system is using almost no CPU activity and more than half the physical memory is available. I see no dialog windows waiting for input (I moved the Installation Wizard window to see if there was a dialog window behind

SOM Summary Removed Computers
I noticed that when ever we have removed a computer from the SOM that unless the computer is also removed the Active Directory the SOM Summary page does not remove the computers from the removed computers dashboard list. Is there anyway of making it so that it only stays on this list for a certain amount time after being removed?
Configured Ports
I am running Service Desk and Desktop Central on the same Server. I have the following ports configured: Desktop Central 8020 and 8383 Service Desk 8443 When I start Desktop Central up first I can't start SErvice Desk as Desktop Central takes port 8443 If I start Service Desk first then Desktop central taskes port 8383 I have also noticed when I do a NETSTAT /o that Desktop Central listense on port 8019 and no 8020 but you can connect to it using 8020 CONFUSED! OS X Agent Issues
Hi All Having issues with getting OS X Clients to show up within SoM if they have already previously been removed from Desktop Central I've enabled Remote Login on all my clients, have enabled the root user, and updated the records within Desktop Central accordingly. Hello! The hard drive on my desktop central server died and I am unable to retrieve the desktop central files and database. I will need to fresh install Desktop Central on a new machine. Once I do this how to I get it to talk to all of the machines with the agent already installed? Or will it find them automatically? Thanks for any help!
Custom groups using custom data
I would like to be able to create custom groups using the custom data fields. Is this possible? For example, I add location information and would like to create a custom group based on that location. I don't see how to do this. We are on version 90029 but planning on updating soon. If it's not in our current version is it in the new version? Thanks! Amanda

Freshly installed Mac Agent not reporting in or showing as active...
