Update 92073 awful Filters
Hello After update to 92073 Filter works very bad. 1. Filtering tool inconvenient to compare with previous! More actions required. Click to FILTER button, click to + , choose criteria (it was EQUAL by default) . 2. Chrome 51 (last patch) click to APPLY freezing page 3. IE11 and Chrome - Choosing "Value" window - works incorrect for items in list. It's jump to TOP when I try to choose item from bottom. Cache is cleared. Tried in Private mode. Dmitry
DC update error
Hi there, I've updated DC from 92051 to 92063. Update process wrote "update successful", but DC service couldn't start, tray icon either. I tried: 1. Restore files updated by 92063 with no luck 2. When 92073 rolled out I trued to upgrade to it, but I'm getting error at the beginning of installation: "Unable to install the patch." I have backups of DC folder at 92051 release. What can I do now?

Remote Office DS Disabled?
I had installed the Free version of Desktop Central (Build No:92001) few months ago. I had setup a remote office Distribution Server. Everything worked fine. Now when I go into the SoM - Remote Offices I see a red dot against it. When I edit this entry I see the following: "Distribution Server Available in Enterprise Edition" "You require an Enterprise Edition License to use this feature. Visit our Comparison Matrix for details." Please Help. Thank You
Latest update changed the color theme, can't distinguish colors on charts (color blind)
Sounds like a silly problem BUT I can no longer distinguish some of the charts and graphs with the latest color scheme. Is there a way to change the color theme or is there a "color blind" setting? Best example is the "Disk Usage" Chart in Inventory.
License report shows all licenses in a group on each machine, not the one associated to it.
I've been asked to make a simple custom report where you put in the computer(s) you want to report on and it would show the software name, license name, key, and expiration dates for each license the computer has. I have this working pretty well right now except that if any license is a part of a group with multiple licenses (say Adobe Pro individual licenses for certain machines), the report will show every single license in that group as applying to the chosen computer. To give a better example.
Update to current version
We have installed the updates to get up to the most current version, however now we are unable to start the DesktopCentralServer service, I am getting the error below.

dcagenttrayicon dissapears randomly from taskbar - Windows 10
dcagenttrayicon dissapers from the taskbar even when the service is still running. You can get it back by logging off or restarting but it it happens too often and I feel that it needs to be addressed. This is a problem on all Windows 10 machines and some Windows 7 machines. Is there a quick work-around to for a non-admin to get their icon back? Thank you!

Bug in "software metering"
The "File Name" field doesn't accept special characters, even if they are valid file names. For example, VMWare View Client's file name is "vmware-view.exe", but DC says that is invalid.

Backup Successful but cannot start server error - after migrating Desktop Central to MS SQL
When I ran the process according to instructions provided back up started once I ran the changedbserver.bat. I then got an error unable to create in master. My DB Admin made a change and I clicked ok. then popped up a box saying backup successful, but you will be unable to start server.

Hi, I have been experiences issues lately with SoM and installing software, either by pushing out configurations or using the Self Service Portal. If I go to SoM > Computers I get the following: No Credential Specified The password of the following domains are not specified. Update the password. As far as I understand, the password needs to be the same as the Administrator account, which is the password which we log in to the Desktop Central server. Removing Local Admin Rights
I'm in an environment where a legacy program that required local admin rights has gone away and I'm looking for the best way to remove local admin rights my users have to their pc's. We have close to 300 machine and in lieu of going machine to machine I was hoping there was a better way. I asked this question int he ADManager forum and was directed to Desktop Central. Hi everyone, I'm actually testing Desktop Central with a Remote Branch and I got a question : When you deploy an application to a remote branch, the package is (I guess?) downloaded only one time by the distribution server before being deployed onto specified computers. Help determining unprotected machines
In dealing with RMM software, I notice they all have A/V lights on the virtual dashboard. I need the same from Desktop Central and I presume I have to write a query report that tells me which machines have no software of a category I named "anti-x". Is there an existing way to do this? If not, what would the query look like?

Incorrect number of monitors displayed for windows 10 computers

Desktop Central Agents (9.2.041) not installing from Group Policy after upgrade.
I am not sure if anyone else has run into this problem but I am stuck on a problem with deploying agents through Group Policy. Previously I pushed the agents through Software Installation in Group Policy with out any problems while using version 9.0. I have a folder structure setup with the software listed for the my different sites. Since upgrading to the current version (9.2.041) the agents will not deploy. Schedule patch scans
I have several custom groups and would like to schedule each group to do an inventory scan at a different time throughout the day but I can't find a way to do this. We don't want all of our computers to scan at the same time. Is it possible to do this? Thanks, Amanda

Hi, is it possible to have shortcuts for the following 3 functions: Desktop Central Agent Send Request to Helpdesk Self Service Portal Found this within the Self Service Portal settings on Desktop Central. There have been times where the agent on machines have disappeared or not loaded, and users are having to log out and back in again to restart Desktop Central. The Send Request to Helpdesk and Self Service Portal links on the desktop would also be handy for users to have.
Can't start Desktop Central
Can anyone help me start Desktop Central? I'm getting an Error ID 7024 in event viewer. A window also appears saying "If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 1." I'm trying to run this with a Domain Admin user, so rights shouldn't be an issue. Thanks!

Hi, I wanted to try Dekstop Central because it seems to be a good alternative to other tools as SCCM. But before I try it, I need some information : - Does this solution can handle approximately 30 000 clients? - If yes, how much will it approximately cost? New service pack upgrade.
Hello Everyone, I have build no 91113 for Desktop Central and trying to upgrade to the latest service pack 92000. I have stopped all services but now when installing i get the error " Postgres DB migration failed. The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program. close the folder or file and try again. I have nothing open and i verified through task manager. Which report should I run?
I have set up Custom Groups (Admin > Custom Groups) based on OU from Active Directory. For example: UK-Marketing UK-Sales UK-HR etc It has assigned the machines using SoM, so each custom group only contains the machines in that department. I will then bee using Self Service Portal to assign only software each department use. For example, UK-Marketing will need Software1 and Software2 but the other departments won't, however, I need to run a report for the machines in UK-Marketing to show what software
Access to Custom Groups for Remote Office Admins
I have a situation where we have administrators for certain Remote Offices, they only manage that remote office and nothing else. These remote offices need access to certain custom groups, when they log in they can see the Remote Office and machines for that RO (as expected) but do not have access to the custom groups in the drop down list (see picture) I have created an account to test with and assigned it admin privileges to a remote office. Report to show Agent Version
I am looking for a report which will show me the agent version which is installed on each machine, however looking in the Reports section, there doesn't seem to be one. I have also checked the Custom Reports and cannot see anything there either. I want to ensure all machines are using the most up to date version of the client. Thanks

Inventory Scanning not occurring since update to Build 92029
I have not had any updates on the inventory of any of the 700+ computers I have running Desktop Central since I updated the Build on Friday. No other changes to the system have been made since updating the Server build
