DC Backup - No Idle Connection Found

Is there a way to gracefully stop a backup procedure? I started a manual backup using backuprestore.bat about 5 hours ago. I came back from a meeting and it was still going. I checked the backuplog0.txt file and found multiple entries of the following. The last 4 lines stating "No idle connection found" is listed multiple times. And direction would be helpful.
