Enabled to access the USB drive
I have create the USB configuration one computer to block the USB access, except mouse. Here I have selected domain to effect the configuration. The option i have selected to create the configuration is with attachment file. Now , i need to enabled one computer , which is now restricted. Please guide us to do this.

Patch folder
What will happen if I delete the entire contents of the \webapps\DesktopCentral\store folder? This folder currently contains all the downloaded patches and installs. It looks as if many of the patches are no longer required - BUT if I delete ALL the files will DesktopCentral re-populate the ones I still need? Or do I need to ONLY delete the ones that are no longer required? (This will take much more time as I would have to run a report of the outstanding patches.) Many thanks, Tony
Workstation Group creation at Application level

I could not believe it: I did not found the new Adobe Reader update 11.0.07 under "Missing patches" Then I found the Adobe Reader update 11.0.07 in the view "Applicable patches" where I see that more than 100 computers should already have this new patch (column 'Installed Systems'). Patch Management - Duplicate OU names and defining a target
Hello, I am trying to define our "Laptops" OU as a target but it's not working. We have a few Child OU's with the same name but under different Parent OU's. When selecting the OU, it only shows the OU Name and not the Distinguished Name. Do I need unique OU Names for the "Define a Target" to work.

custom groups multiple criteria
I want to have a dynamic custom group that separates out my Win 7 32 bit and my win 7 64 bit. I want to deploy software based upon those attributes. When i create the custom group i choose Operating system as Windows 7 and then add a second criteria as x86 for system type. Then i save it. The issue is that after i save it it reverts from an AND statement to an OR statement so it pulls in my 32 bit servers. HOw can i stop this? Thanks.
DC9 upgrade- safe to upgrade or still issues outstanding
hi I am running the latest version of DC8 and have been advised to upgrade to DC9 as some patches cannot be rolled out with version DC8 anymore before i do this are there any gotchas? I don't have a test environment and have been burned before (i usually disable DC agents on most critical servers and computers before doing any upgrade to avoid client problems) Many thanks

user can't interact with install package
Hi It seems since we upgrade to build 80215 that some of our install packages which require user interaction do not work. There are no prompts appearing on the screen. This used to work. If we go in and manually change the properties of the DC agent service and put a checkmark beside "allow service to interact with desktop" then it works. is this a known issue with this build? is there a fix? (btw this is on Windows XP that it doesn't work)
Agent Status shows the wrong Server (Internet Connected remote Agents)
Is there any way Remote/Internet ME DC Agents could show in their Systray Status the Server Name as it was encoded in the Remote Agent MSI? Instead it shows the internal/LAN name of the ME DC Server which is meaningless and not the hostname they are connecting to. Remote Control
We are using Remote Control in Desktop Central on 75 computers in 4 locations. It is working properly on all but 2 computers. For those two computers, when we try to connect using Active X, it connects shows the blue connection screen and they immediately shows "Exit Meeting" . When connecting using Java, it connects and shows the java screen and then shows "Java Viewer, Waiting for presenter to join." Upgraded to DC 9 MSP - major problems
I just upgraded to DC 9 MSP. Now after I login, I can get any customers' pages or computer info to load. It's maxing out my rented VPS server's CPU (java.exe 99%) and locks it there. the page just sits and tries to load. I have to stop DC and restart it to stop the CPU usage. (NOTE this is a rented Virtual Private Server Running server 2008 R2. Running a single core 4.0Ghz, 1gb ram and 30GB hdd. Delete Admin User - Desktop Central (90022)
Hi Guys, We're trying to delete the Admin account. We've created two addition admin username (firstname.surname) and assigned than administrator rights. We then login as one of these users. When we attempt to delete the Admin user the software confirm it's been deleted (i.e. local\admin deleted message), however the Admin user remains in the list of users. We've tried removing the administrator rights to the admin user and trying to delete again, but this does not help. We have a two user licence

It seems the severity rating for Microsoft security updates classified by DC as unrated will at times differ from Microsoft's severity rating. MAC Addresses
I have many computers that have multiple network adapters, which means there are multiple MAC addresses. Desktop Central is picking the wrong MAC address from my clients. Since it's doing this, Wake on LAN doesn't work until I manually enter the correct MAC address. Is there a way to support multiple MAC addresses? If so, can wake on LAN send packets to all MAC addresses to wake the computer up? Thanks TOm
Script (VBS) still being referenced in registry after being deleted with a configuration
Every login gets a "script not found" even though the configuration was demoted and then the script deleted. How can we clean up the registry automatically?

Issue with filtering inventory reports after V9 Upgrade
Greetings, After upgrading to Version 9 (build 90001), we are having a problem with filtering inventory reports. We are using the standard "Computers with/without a specific Software" report. Once selecting the software (specifically, all machines without Java 7 update 55) We generate the report and then try and filter the results by computer name. Mac - Adobe Air 13.0 update fails and mac office patch 14.4.1
hi desktop central 80362 detects that our mac computers have an update for Adobe Air (v4 to v13 update) and it downloads the patch but during the update it returns the status failed i have manually installed the adobe air update on one of my macs and it works fine what could be the cause of this failed message, anyone else seeing this Also when will the latest mac office patch be supported, it has been out for nearly 1 month now, the last supported update was 14.3.9 many thanks
Is Build 90001 the same as Desktop Central 9?
I just upgraded build version 90001. Is that the same thing as Desktop Central 9? The software still says Desktop Central 8. If it is not the same thing, then having a version number 90001 at the same time as version 9 is very confusing. If 90001 is version 9, the graphic in the left hand corner should change to say Desktop Central 9. The login screen says 9. The main question is will Java updates now work?

Software-Inventory shows WRONG installation date for Java installation
DC tells me that "Java 7 Update 55" has been installed on two computers in January 2014 which is impossible because this Java patch is available since Apr 16 2014. I get this wrong information in my custom report that shows me the Java installations of all computers together with their installation date. I hope someone can help me out. I am a little confused on patch configurations. When I manually deploy patches a configuration is always created. What can I do with these configurations? Need VBS script to rename PC via DC
Romanus in 2009, posted a how to on renaming a PC but I do not understand how to implement it. https://blogs.manageengine.com/product-blog/desktopcentral/2009/04/13/rename-remote-computer-using-desktop-central.html I do know how to implement a VBS script that has an argument to change the Workgroup. Romanus provided that to me last year. None of the PCs are AD joined. The PC workgroup name varies between PCs. Is it possible to get a VBS script that I can use to change the Computer name. Below
Remote Control
Since updating to Desktop Central 9 we haven't been able to remote control anyones PC. I did some troubleshooting and have narrowed the problem down to java. I can remote control people using IE and using the ActiveX remote control but cannot connect using the Java one. I have tried the Java one in both IE and Chrome.
